Thread: FEEDBACK: Jedi (Player Bounty) Missions Being Moved to Master Box
I would still like a link to this post listing these proposed changes.
If anyone can give me the link I would be most gratefull.
This is only because of the change in the way xp is being grinded. Before groups were required you had to go up sabers first to have a chance to survive. Now since youcan be a noob jedi that only has to hit the target a few times in a group we can spend our xp on the different skills that we deem essential without going us LS 0404 first. 100k aren't really that vulnerable anyway. If they know how to use what skills the currently have and can survive the first 10 seconds it should be a decent fight. No one is invulnerable jedi or bh.

I'm not sure why you think a full template cannot be soloed. It takes a GOOD player to be able to beat them. We are not invincible. Many Jedi have the PVP skills of a rock and without the former rate of healing if you have your stuff together you will be able to beat them. There are some BH that I have NEVER beaten. EVER even as I have increased in strength/level. You will run into this too its part of the game. Ask yourself this, have you tried to take on a full template before? If so did you use your first strike advantage? Since a full template is less likely to be mindlessly hitting the lair/creature while grinding you have to account for that. Even when jedi could heal at the former rate we died. Because YOU still choose when to attack. Use that and your skills. Its closer to 1 v 1 than you think...

1) How are we supposed to "Choose" when to attack when our marks are always on Kashyyk. Kind of ruins the element of surprise when your the guy running across the bridge with a herd of critters on your tail. Either that or wait a week to attack your mark who is either full template, or close by then.
2) How many of your opponents that you NEVER beat were Master BH?.
Im willing to bet they were BH Dabblers.
As far as kashyyyk goes I don't really have an opinion. You know I'm there and there are only 6 instances if I choose to grind there at the time. I guess you are the type of BH that burst runs in full throttle and unloads on a guy. I've found that if the jedi survives the first 10 seconds most of these people don't know what to do when they are actually attacked back but I'm sure you don't have that problem. Even on kash you choose when to attack and you don't have to run across the bridge and let yourself be seen
you can go around and kill the spiders yourself then attack at your leisure. Or bring a group to work your way down. Lots of things that can be done and I've been killed there while ATK because I won't run to the LOS spot unless you do.
I don't know the exact templates of the people I've never beaten but I can tell you this. If the devs know for sure what 45%? not sure of your skill points will be in the profession can be balanced easier for this. Its almost impossible to balance two types of players that between them have a huge number of possible templates. And from the whole CU and the master box returning to significance this only makes sense.
I can definately agree with you about the Master BH box returning to significance. But it is the Dabblers on both sides that are turning the tides of battle. Jedi Dabblers are vicious opponents at even the 100k mark. And the same can be said for BH Dabblers.
Limiting the Dabblers on justone side without proper balancing is going to hurt the Jedi vs BH aspect of the SWG world that we live (play) in.

Very true, and I agree. However taking the "Dabbler" aspect out of just one side, and not the other without a certain amount of balancing creates a lop-sided fight. The Dabblers will win in a fight like that.
Dabblers gainjust enough skillsto be "In the Game", and the rest goes to whatever they see fit. Creating a verycustomized template. If the Devs dictate that only Master Bounty Hunters can hunt Jedi, without due speculation and modification to the MBH box, it will put the BH,Jedi hunting population into a Handicapped state. Lacking the strength and diversity of our Jedi Opponents, at even the 100k bounty mark.
I do admit that I may be wrong, and would actually welcome any arguement proving me wrong, and proving that there may yet be light at the end of the tunnel.
BH missions being moved to master is a good thing.
It was placed at inv 3 because of the massive skill points required for BH at the time. Remember they used to have to master marksman and take 2 lines in scout before they could even get novice BH.
Now they have the SP requirement of all other elite professions. So IMO it should only be in the master box now. Only the dedicated BH should be able to hunt players and not the dabbler
I already replied and at first had no major objection to this change, but after having thought about it a little more, I realized it would make less people able to hunt Jedi, and therefore make grinding a little more easy.
With all what's already been implemented to make jedi grind easier (change of xp loss rules for example), and things implemented for other reasons but which helps jedi grind and avoidance of BH threat (Kashyyyk, multipassenger vehicles...), I don't think it's a good thing to remove another Jedi progress slowing factor.
Just look at the GCW forum and you will realize how much thecurrent amount of jedi in the galaxies are an issue for a lotof people(well you already know it since you're the previous GCW correspondent).
Moving Jedi missions to MBH partially removes one of the last remaining obsticle to grinding Jedi in a few weeks.
To compensate this, I think MBH need to get a bonus in effectiveness (skill mods, special attacks,whatever...)versus Jedi. Less people able to hunt, but more successful at doing it ; it could help reduce the negative effects of this change.
If this works as it sounds (plain and simple no jedi hunting until MBH) I will respec right now.
What about the lowbie Jedi? Now with the pub 20 changes you wont even know what lvl of Jedi you are fighting, so they will STILL get owned by the BH that are way too high lvl for them, but the novice BH can't hunt the novice Jedi....
What a mess they are making of this game.
I have no problem with moving jedi hunitngto the master box.
I will be dropping BH because of the CONSTANT efforts of the part of SOE to glorify Jedi at the cost all the other broken professions and long, long, long term bugs.
There was a great post it read:
DEVS!
STOP BREAKING YOUR GAME!!!
I have 200, and im on one of the least populated servers. There are 50 active at all time and usually on a good day about 125 are active. If we do the math on this, there are supposed to be4 jedi (Im counting sith as jedi), there are 200 jedi on the server, that means that .02% of the jedi are suppose to be here. doing the math on this one, this is a 5000% increase in the number of jedi. I think that is a little riddiculus, oh well at least that mean a steady paycheck.

All removing names does is pander to the Jedi players.I am sorry but no BH in his/her right mind would take a misson a JEDI no less and not know something about their mark.By removing the names it opens up the door to all kinds of problems such as:
It will be very possible to get the same misson on a Jedi that is on Kash, or one that is just afk in their house. How would that be fun over and over ? As more Jedi get their temps done and are more visible all the payouts will start to look almost identical.
My other b!tch is if there is Jedi flashing their glowsticks in Theed I cant say, "there is XYZ !! he is online" and then try and go get his misson. Sorry but if a BH saw a Jedi they should be able to check and see if their is a bounty listed for them.
I dont know how many of you have ever gone 1 on 1 with a Knight. But the guys that have the most visibilty know what they are doing (and /salute them) and win almost 80% of 1 vs 1 encounters with a BH.
All this change does is push us further in the direction of Jedi Knight Academy.
I dont know about you but I have over 100 Jedi on my friends list. Thats to gd many if you ask me.
Best change I think they could integrate is something like EQ2 where if you attack something you and your target are locked in combat and no one can interfere. By all means retain the ability of more than one BH able to take a Jedi's mission, otherwise people would just make BH alts and hold their own mission. If you lock the two, BH and Jedi in combat 1 v 1 it would stop all the ganking.
Thought some more about this.
If they do this, then they should remove the Jedi's ability to have any other profession other than Jedi and Force Sensitive.
"Unlearn what you have learned you must" Master Yoda
But I do not see how this will enhance gameplay in any way.
