That makes a lot more sense, then. Thanks for explaining that. I guess these things really aren't worth the added HAM costs and speed, huh.

Oh wow, didnt know they messed with the loot tables again... now we might even get 2 CDEF pistols and maybe a CDEF rifle off of a nightsister elder

Ya know today I actually looted a wookiee life day orb and a wookiee life day robe off of a nightsister. Found that to be umm...kinda odd.

Well speed and HAM costs are relative. If you are grinding the profession you surely have to consider lot of speed, but masters often look for slower heavier hitting weapons. If you cap a weapon speed of 4.0 why would you use weapon with speed 2.6 if that does not hit as hard?
I wonder what are the dmg numbers in general on sword cores? I'm currently in prosess of huntnig rancors for their teeth.

Not only that, but any sword you buy from a weaponsmith is very likely to be the best result in experimentation that he could get. The weaponsmith gets to try over and over again to create that great schematic, whereas if he is making a weapon with a loot component he only gets one try. He might not max out the damage.

Specials...You may cap at 4.0 on regular combat, but when you use specials you are going to need a lot lower than 4.0 to cap.

What would items with yellow text be categorized as? I have some rancor teeth with better stats that have yellow text.
I have my own theorieswhat yellow text refers to and people who've brought me batches of tissue with them know what that is. But I won't share it with my competition here. Not sure what other smiths think. I'll let that secret remain a secret.

it's no secret, Oar....looted items always have base stats (+5min +50 max for rancor teeth, +30 max -.3 speed for krayt tissues) and anything above that base has one item in yellow, and any others of a matching set are in the normal white.
