Thread: Rancor Teeth
Although, this isn't an legendary one, it's a rather nice one, an was used to craft a Nightsister Energy Lance. The NS Lance has some pretty amazing stats... It's all good I'd say and I will remember to post that legendary one as soon as I get back.

and if you could post that would be cool, although its a motor used for VKs, still would be interested in seeing its pic.
best one ive seen was a +25 max damage that droped in a set of 2
i guess i'll keep plugging away, even though regular Bull Rancors are about 5 times as easy to kill. however, all i ever get from Bull Rancors is rancor bile. is this worth anything to someone? should i be keeping it to sell?
i guess it's back to the ancient bull grind.
it's not like rancor have pockets... why can't we just look and see what they have before killing them? and the way they lay down and roar all the time, you'd think they were begging for a dental exam. it's such a pain to kill one with a no AP weapon andno friends. it would be easier to sneak into coruscant, steal a tie bomber, escape into space, hijack a freighter to hyperspace to dathomir, drop to the surface and bombard the little buggers until i got all the teeth i needed.
ok, so maybe the bomber idea is tougher. but it's far less annoying.

thanks Kaynab. i've killed 32 so far, and all i got were some thermal detonators. i guess commandos are tasty.

Its worth a little to combat medics I believe. Not as much has janta blood but they'll take it

There've always been "rare" Rancor Teeth that actually don't suck.
They're flagged Exceptional or Legendary. Krayt Tissues have the same thing, Exceptional/Legendary tags = really high-end Krayt Tissue. But they are extremely, extremely rare.
What would items with yellow text be categorized as? I have some rancor teeth with better stats that have yellow text.
thanks,
If the teeth have lower stats than the best sword core on your server, ditch them. I currently make 40-40 sword cores and I think that's about as high as you can get with them... 1000 SR Steel and Chem, 98-100% experiment.
The problem is that the teeth are not a 'special component' of a core or the sword but a replacement for the core. They should be like Krayt Tissues but are not.
thats alot, well i guess they are pretty dang rare.
im gonna go bump my simulare post in the WS forum, see if i can find anything, but so far the only confirmed max damage tooth is 137 max damage.
much better then anything a WS can make, but maybe there is better out there.
either exceptional or legenardy, you can tell the differance, legendary is insane, exceptional you have to ask yourself if its good first.
legendary your in aww the second you examin.
Just look for it on the item description. There are legendary krayt pearls, weapons, armor, etc.
I've seen items with yellow text that had no noticable improvement in any stat nor any skill bonus. I used to keep em hoping they would magically show a bonus one day but they just take up space.
I just had a couple of 2-h curved swords made using some above average rancor teeth I found, and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. The tooth said it would add somewhere in the neighborhood of 85 max damage, but comparing the end results to other 2-h curved swords the armorsmith made, it only added about 40, as well as adding a full second to the weapon speed (3.5 vs. 2.4) when the tooth stats listed .3--- as the speed modifier.
Are rancor teeth broken or am I missing something here (or did the weaponsmith rip me off and take my good teeth and use some lousy ones instead)?
Normal swords use a sword core, the rancor tooth REPLACES the sword core instead of enhancing it like a krayt tissue. The speed is worse because sword cores improve speed of weapons andrancor teeth penalize it.
