I am pleased to see BE prices for the medium nutrition adds are conforming to my prediction at around 35-40k per crate. If you are making food or large glass Items with this you should be charging no more than 120-130k per crate. If you are using casks 150k.

Ok...
I will take 80 cases of Broad and 80 Cases of Intelligent...40 cases of Micro would not be bad either.
I need 84+ 114+ and 54+ specs.
You will drop that off at my vendor for your stated prices of 35k-40k I will sell you all the food / drink you want at 150k.. Of course you will have to provide my 18-20 cpu berries and my 14 cpu fruit too..oh or my 15 cpu fungis etc etc.

What should a crate of broad +85 medium go for? 125k?
He just said like 40k. The brandy might only sell for 150k a crate, if around +400.
125k a crate is an insane price for any BE crate.... imo. I get +79 mediums for 25k. No way am I going to pay 500% morefor an extra 6%.

the correct 'retail business oriented' way to figure this mark up is...
cost (say you mined your own stuff) = 50,000
sale price = 250,000
difference = 200k
diff/SP = .80
250k is an 80% markup.
i know, i know... it sounds retarded. but i have worked in jewelry for a long time, and that blew my mind the first time i saw a $500 set of earrings selling for $2500 and the markup listed said 80%. sure looks like 500% to me...

If i did this with additives a chef would never buy them.... it would make BSN's cost 85k a crate Thats based on 20/cpu for the meat and 6/cpu for quality flora

Just remember, most people like to pay/sell around current market price. Sometimes products CPU to make/buy/produce/whatever have no bearing on prices because a LOT of people have virtual unlimited money and will pay anything (to some form of price they will pay anyway? hehe) on crates of the best stuff they can get. It's hard to sell a crate of food at $125K when you get private emails "I will buy everything you have at $300K a crate, no matter on numbers. If you want more, just ask me, I may be prepared to pay more" and Im not joking. I've received a heap of these emails lately. I decided in the end, only 20 people will get access to "first on server of my new batch at a determined price" and the public vendor gets everything else at a moderately different price. I plan to slowly make each of the foods on my private vendor get cheaper and cheaper as I have used all my savings on getting +food exp points and the best resources to spawn to date on our server. I literally had $100K to my name 2 days ago but vast sales has put me back in the black.
I have a private balance I want to reach then I will start putting out vast crates to guild members are either equal or under cost price and to friends at a similar deal. Th e rest will be enough (to keep my day to day needs averaging the same for cost in/cost out) so I can afford any good ships when the space expansion is out. If what rumours are true, we are going to need a lot of money to buy the best ships.
Im just saying it how I am playing, if people don't agree with me, that is up to them. This is my game I am playing and I like to play 'for fun' at the end of the day. This is how I see I am getting the most fun. Now that was a big splurge just for the orginal question. Sorry for getting off topic, I am sleep deprived and go off the tangent now and then.
And back to normal transmission..

what i would do is:
Find out cost of resources used to make one stack
find out cost of running factory for one stack (ie power + maintenance)
This is YOUR layout.
Then you can add on whatever percent you like. maybe double the price it cost to make? it is up to you.
You will find though most crafters just PUT any price on they feel. You can be very competative if you work out exactly what it cost to make a stack and then sell it at a price you like.
I personally used to sell Mind Brandy 399+ for 20mins @ 50k a crate(25) but i see them on other chef vendors for 150k even 250k. This in my mind is greedy and this is what happens when you get young people who do not know the value of money and spend and sell for EXTORSIONATE prices.
sorry for spelling

Is there any reasonpeople are stillselling chassis for2-4 cpu? Wouldn't it save you the time and frustration of grinding/crafting by just selling the steel and other resources used for that price?Shipwright profit margins are getting nearly as bad as those for Architects. Except as an architect, at least you can make factory runs to produce goods, and not make everything by hand.
I even see components selling for around 8-10 cpu.... is it just that these folks are using crappy resources? I don't know about others, but when I'm crafting ship components, I'm using many of the same resources my master weaponsmith uses, which by far aren't cheap. As a WS, well crafted weapons sell extremely well at 50cpu... so why should say... 40cpu, using those same resources, be any different when making ship components?
I'm sure this topic has already been exhausted, but I'm just getting tired of all the undercutters creating a poor standard for this profession. I can't stand hearing from the few people asking whymy chassis prices are so high (8 cpu). Funny thing is they're usually the same people who won't mind dropping 1.5 mil on a useless lootkit Nabooian Glass Table.

I'm pricing my ships based upon sales. Chassis are at 5 cpu. Components are at 10 cpu to 20 cpu depending on a variety of things. If they don't sell well, I'll lower the prices. If they sell too fast, I'll raise the prices. But that is my starting point.

I agree with you, Im also tired of hearing people complain on why this or that is way to much to be charging because they see other SW stuff at like 2cpu for all there items. I hope that the ones that are undercutting themselves by doing that will realize they will make little or no profit and be out of business. On my server the resource people are making a killing . Ive seen grind steel for around 10-20 cpu and some grind as high as 30-40. At those prices the ones undercutting may not be around long. I try to sell fair, not to gouge and not to undercut. I try to compare prices with fellow SW to stay even or close to what they are selling so we have an equal market.

prior to jtl I could get grinding steel for 1cpu to 3cpu on Kauri. I've never seen it for more than that. The prices of grinding steel may very well be driven up because of all the shipwrights but 10-20 cpu for grinding steel?? I doubt that'll happen on Kauri. I can still buy rare high quality steel on some vendors for 15cpu. But I rather expect that once things settle down, demand for chassis will drop considerably and grinding steel will be easy to find again.
