True - but then, my comments weren't directed at Tiggs specifically, but rather at SOE in general. And Tiggs IS our interface with SOE, so if I want to tell that to anyone, I'll have to tell that to her. It's her job, and I don't envy her...
And also, I don't think that those policies are necessarily made at the Developer level. Those guys just try to do their job, so while I'm generally pretty angry and disappointed in some things in this game, that's never directed at any one person in particular.

The problems this game has run much deeper, and they are not just limited to the entertainer professions. It's just here that they become especially apparent. Long-term customer satisfaction counts for nothing in here. SOE is perfectly happy to losethousands ofcustomers due to their mismanagement if at the same time they can replace those with the same number of new subscriptions by pushing out the next hot thing (currently JtL). Only sooner or later your supply of new customers will run out, because everyone who's likely to be interested in SWG will already have tried it and left again. And this does not fill me with confidence for the long-term survival chances of this game.

Oh well, I apologize for going off-topic, so let's leave it at that for now(although it could be argued that the underlying policies regarding SWG are an issue for every profession)

Tiggs, I think every Entertainer deserves to know and fully understand whythe Devsvalue the play experience of someone who's running a macro and is AFK all day long more than the person who's really playingtheir game and trying to earn some credits to survive in their game. Do you folksfully support AFK kill stealers/looters? Do you?

The AFK issue is gamebreaking to Entertainers who *shock* play Entertainers. By the statement made above, the Devs are supporting those who are abusing the Entertainer professions in ways not intended. Isn't using a game mechanic to knowingly benefit you in ways that were never intended by the Developers the definition of exploiting?

First question: Did Developers intend to create the opportunity to 100% AFK macro entertainment? Yes or No. Every single Entertainer deserves to know the answer to this right now. Given your message to us, we need this answer. It's a simple question, with a simple yes or no answer. Did Devs intend to let players create Entertainer buffbots.

What's the problem here?Kick the AFK bots who are stealing our livelihood in-game, and who are stealing the fun and legitimacy of our professions out from under us. Kick them out of the game, they're gone all day long. Email them a warning. You don't even have to ban them. It will seriously add to the CSR's workload, but I could care less- maybe you'll understand then the grand scope of all of this. Waiting until after the recursive macrochange will be too little, too late. A policy change right now is the only effective and GRADUAL way to wean people off the nightmare all of you have created for us. Do it in some massive way, and we'll bashed even more - which we do NOT need.

I have one additional question: When will you folks get off your duffs and restore Entertainers to an economically viable profession in-game, and return some sense of legitimacy to our skills? You can't possibly do this soon enough. It's all gone on way too long.

Yeah, so thanks for your time and stuff. Now please, treat us like paying customers, not an afterthought. Stop shoving us aside, and tell us why we're being forced to deal with the nightmarish state of Entertainers for another 6 months at least. We deserve to make credits and have fun in this game, too.

Your policy towards us is now "Your professions are dying and you can do nothing. See you when we see you." That, quite simply, is unacceptable.

These problems are not small matters. This is an ongoing, and worsening, state of the profession for Entertainers. Please treat it as such - not like "you'll have to wait, sorry" matter. Waiting is doing us even more harm, and driving your paying customers from the game. You guys are bleeding live Entertainers from the game. Stop! You're making things even worse!

You mean PM her? Heh. I thought the only legitimate reason to PM a Dev is to apologize for PM'ing them

But, maybe I will PM that to her. She may be able to get some answers for us.

Hiya Tiggs. Thanks for coming back to our boards. We really appreciate your posts, even when it's not exactly what we want to hear. It's good to know we're not forgotten.

Just one quick question. Can we get a rough estimate on when recursive macroing will be adressed? Pub 11, pub 12.6ish, pub 22?

I think just having a rough ETA would give many of us something to look forward to, rather than giving up hope and cancelling our accounts. I know I'd start playing again.

Help us Tiggs... You're our only hope...

I second that point we need to know the answer to that and need to know it now. Because all the people attacking us seem to think the answer is yes.

Hmmm...

I would like an answer to that too Warryyr. I thought I remember them saying that the macro system was put in place to make some things easier (like all the clickies during crafting), but was not meant to make some classes totally afk'able.

Maybe that was wishful thinking on my part.

Any explanation forthcoming? Or is it just a case of "because we say so"? Please keep in mind that entertainers are paying customers as well, and last time I checked, we paid the same money than the AFKers. But: the AFKers seem to take precendence over people who actually play the game.

I'd say that warrants an explanation, and better make it a good one. Or is it your goal to drive all entertainers out of this game, leaving only the buffbots? That would mean you wouldn't have to change anything, because there'd be nobodyleft who cared. The l33t d00ds would still have someone to buff them and heal their BF, but there wouldn't be any more complaints by disgruntled entertainers, because all that are left are the buffbots. Voila, problem soved!

Is THAT your "policy"? Ignoring the problem until it goes away?

I remain hopeful we'll get an answer. I would hope that Tiggs understands that we've had enough beating around the bush - let's get the facts straight and find out where we stand, and have always stood, with the Devs.

Are we meant to log in 2 seconds are server up, start a macro, go to work/eat lunch/take a walk/go to the driving range/watch a movie/workout/read a book/go to sleep, and do it all over again the next day? Is that intended gameplay for an SWG Entertainer?

Is this what the Devs envision, and have envisioned, for our professions?

If so, I'm sure we'd all love to know. We deserve an answer, and now.

Upholding their policy while we slowly die off one by one, while the recursive macro change hangs out in Devland limbo, currently tells us that yes - they intended us to be buffbots. Otherwise, as with all exploits, I should think buffbotting would warrant a policy change and appropriate action to stop the exploiting. When has the reaction to exploiting ever been different. When has the Dev attitude towards exploiting become "we'll deal with it later." That is unacceptable.

The Devs can't have it both ways. It's either intended to exist in-game as it is, thus upholding their policy until the recursive macro change, OR it's unintended gameplay that hurts legitimate players/customers of this game and their policy must be revised to handle these players until code is put in to fix the problem. I don't want to cause trouble, but we very much deserve to have the appropriate actions taken for appropriate exploit situations. Just because we're Entertainers doesn't mean exploits shouldn't be addressed until it's "convenient" for the Devs. No exploit in this game should be treated with that kind of attitude. It's detrimental not only to the directly affected players, but also detrimental to the game's credibility.

When the /summon problem reared it's ugly head, did the Devs leave the policy alone until the code change? OH HEAVENS NO. They banned people left and right for it, until the code change went in.

You tell me what's worse - the annoyance of having your droid nabbed from you temporarily, or having credits and xp stolen from you on a daily basis, negating your efforts to have fun while playing the game that you're paying for.

I'm reletivly new to the game and i am fairly new to the proffesion.

I've seen my issues covered again and again i.e:

1. Droid Decay. This is very important.

2. More integration into the game. I do feel like a side proffesion. I hate getting the question " What do droids do?" from people who have obvioulsy been playing for a while.

3. The droid handler proffesion dosen't seem worth it to me. actually, it seems more redundant then anything. It seems to me that people in the SWG should be able to acess droids and think of droids just as we do PC's. That is a modern day conveniance that, once you've used it, you can never do without.

4. I would love to see special schematics that DE's can loot. If you do it like the Corvett, you might even be able to requier a droid in some way, like R2-DT acessing the death stars map to find a way out.

5. I hate how i have to have Master artisan to build some of my parts. I think arcitects need the GP modules (am i wrong), but it dosen't seem to add up. If you need it to build some of your things, why wouldn't you know how to make it? I could understand ifthose componentswas under the engineer skill tree, but why master? Not that i mind being able to add Swoops and Speeders to my vendor, mind you.

I think what is most important is what some otheres mentioned. #2 needs to happen BEFORE #1, or people just won't come to us at all. why buy a 30K droid to help you do stuff you can do just as easily some other way, if it's just gonna bust on you and make you buy it over again?

That is all i can think of......hope it helps.
