Just popping in to let you guys know I didn't forget about you. I sent out an email questioning the policy and I am still waiting on a response. Everyone is very busy with JtL going from beta to launch so it may take a few days.

It's been six business days. Anything to report? In light of the CSRs' latest move we could really use some good news.

This random sig quote is brought to you by the Star Wars Galaxies forums:
"I can run around in my armor and still feel vulnerable, but if I choose to go to get buffs I become fearless, because I know I cannot really die. That, in my mind, shows that buffs are the true unbalancing factor and armor just goes along for the ride."

Tiggs is undoubtedly being properly 'indoctrinated' now since she was caught talking to entertainers. I wouldn't expect to hear from her for a little while until her brainwa...training is complete.

Sorry everyone for the delay! There will be no policy change happening until after recursive macroing.

You mean no policy change until after the code changes to abolish recursive macroing.

Heh, otherwise I'd say the conditions were met... in spades.

That's fine. There will be no subscription renewel until the policy change and until the game is working correctly then.

Well we could all sort of figure that out by the policy involving banning Live Players for bothering AFK macroed NPCs

You folks should consider the transition you're creating to a non-buffbot world. If you made a policy change, then buffbots would move underground, becoming less available. Yep, the CSRs could never enforce this policy everywhere which is actually what you want. By moving buffbots into houses/player cantinas, they're still around for the leets to use, but they're harder to find. Then when buffbots become impossible because recursive macros are gone there has been a gradual transition to live entertainers.

By keeping the buffbots in the game until they are suddenly cut off, you're going to create an enormous anti-entertainer backlash. We've already seen parts of it just with the announcement of recursive macro removal. It's going to be horrible when they are actually removed unless there is a more gradual transition.

I am also sorry, I do not think I can continue to pay $15 a month for a single player game. I honestly wish now I did not recieve the expansion as a gift.

Tiggs, maybe it is not the right policy to look at. As you all sit, you warn and ban players for harrasment... this includes things such as KS, preventing shop entering via lights. However in every instance of enforcment, you do not do so in a manor that is consistant. In the KS, macro looting and buff botting in ever time, you consider it harrasment for the live player to affect the "gameplay" to the person not playing. It is a poposterous policy and not well thought out. Im sorry but in the case of the banned live entertainer, I think we would be pushing your policy limits if that live ent went and did an afk /invite ect.... In that case you have two afk ppl "harrasing" each other... since you side with those AFK in this instance you wouldn't have anyone to side with. Why? because it is the right of the live ent/ now afk to /invite anyone he wants just as it is the "right" of the afk bot to /join anytime they want....

Lets get adult on this "policy" of your company. Put some actual thought into it, rewrite it and then enforce something that makes sense... if you need, have the players hash out what is the appropreate way... but as it is, you change the rules at every turn and so honestly any player could claim they don't know the rules in terms of "practice" because what they have seen enforced vs what they have seen "slide by"...

hi Tiggs

I'm going to post here as a dancer, not a correspondent. it seems silly that SOE is banning one type of afk macro but not another... they should either ban everyone using an afk macro (which I gather isn't happening), or leave all afk macroers along.

please don't let the community feel that you guys value buffbots over atk players

/cheer! This needs to be resolved sooner than later. It's not fair for paying customers (or former customers looking at some of the previous posts) to be ignored and ignored when their gameplay is being drastically affected by this.

If there was someone out stealing credits and gameplay from combaters or hunters or jedi or BH, it would be resolved immediately as a hotfix. If someone was in a spawn AFK killing and looting, he would be dealt with quickly. Why is it any different for entertainers? Let me answer, it isn't. Doctors would be pissed with some AFKer standing in cnet passing out free good buffs (till his medicine ran out of course) and hunters would be pissed if someone could gather all the good meat/hides/bones while being away from their computer. Entertainers are pissed that people can make all the tip and buff money and gain the valuable xp while not at their computer.

I am not an entertainer (I was a dancer in the entertainer prof box for like 2 days) but I completely agree 100% this needs a hotfix as much as if shuttles were broken or houses spontaneously caught fire. Sure it would be a pain in the butt to seek buffers that are actually playing. But I am more than willing to give up some conveinience to help restore some fun and playability to someone else's game. This needs to be addressed now, not after the combat revision/revamp/upgrade/etc. and not when all the non-combat profs might get some love as well (next year) but now. The game doesn't need clipping issues or music problems, etc. as desparately as these fine entertainment people need and deserve this.

THX for reading.

Any explanation forthcoming? Or is it just a case of "because we say so"? Please keep in mind that entertainers are paying customers as well, and last time I checked, we paid the same money than the AFKers. But: the AFKers seem to take precendence over people who actually play the game.

I'd say that warrants an explanation, and better make it a good one. Or is it your goal to drive all entertainers out of this game, leaving only the buffbots? That would mean you wouldn't have to change anything, because there'd be nobody left who cared. The l33t d00ds would still have someone to buff them and heal their BF, but there wouldn't be any more complaints by disgruntled entertainers, because all that are left are the buffbots. Voila, problem soved!

Is THAT your "policy"? Ignoring the problem until it goes away?

on the other hand guys... this isn't Tiggs' policy, please don't kill the messenger
