It's not being negative, it's reading something for what is was, which was a poorly formulated statement. It's not like I was the only one that reacted in the same way, because it didread as beingcondensending. It doesn't take a negative person, or a sunshine person to realize that...

Sure, I'm not debating whether it could be taken as condescending or not--it could be. Tiggs in general doesn't come off that way to me, so I don't assume her to be in this case either. She might have added a caveat that "but those are only a small number of people", etc, but I took this for granted. It's not unreasonable to do so, considering the volume of forums she has to parse, and the human nature to assume the other person knows what you're saying anyway. In any case, I give on the matter--because I am merely making a suggestion about reading intention, and if it's taken as arrogance then I can be of no furthur help.

One more note--I specifically said it was what you 'could' have said.

Isn't it pointless to be a CH when you consider that every mob in the game is easily solo'ed due to uber armor, uber buffs, uber weapons, and defense stacking templates?

The PvE mobs are so easy to kill.

Maybe the combat revamp will fix these issues??

Bah,

I didn't realize this had been posted here. I should get out of the musician forum more

My number one complain is the same as most of the people in all the entertainer professions, AFK play. I will not elaborate, since people above have said it all anyhow.

Number two complaint is to up the payout for entertainer missions. They are good missions all by themselves as generic credit makers, if we could actually make decent credits doing them. They need to scale with the level of the entertainer and as they are right now, its set to be be good for a rank novice entertainer.

Number three complaint is to be able to get the register command working correctly, and to also allow it to be used in any building that is flagged as being a cantina environment be it NPC or Player owned.

Numberfour complaint is a lack of steady content for the entertainers. With the exception of the new entertainer quest, which you have to be a Musician or Dancer to do, so it does a stand alone entertainer no good, we have only had very, very limited developer time. Sure the effects and playback modules added in the Droid Engineer "Invasion" are nice, but they are just a money sink for an already poor class of players.

If we can have that AFKtainer / Buffbot issue addressed, it would help to turn around the perception of the general playbase that we are all disposable professions, and are no better than NPCs, and that we should actually "be like" NPCs.

Well those are my main concerns, I do have others, but they pale in comparison to the issues I have mentioned here.

Thanks for reading Tiggs

Hi Tiggs, welcome aboard.

I'll just keep it short.

Pros:

  • High Melee and Ranged Defences

  • High State Defences

  • Great Accuracy and Speed

  • Low HAM usable weapon with AP1

Cons:

  • Lack of viable weapon to use in PvP (AP1 weapon). Vibroblade damage output is too low to use in PvP. Mine with a damage slice is something like 60min 180max or their abouts.

  • Stun Baton effectively pretty much obsolete in PvP unless opponent isn't using Stun resist armor (and who doesn't in PvP?) or baton is made using very high quality Ackley Bones.

  • Spin Attack 2 and Blind 2 effectively the same attack. Spin Attack needs to have the blind effect removed and damage increased or given another ability.

  • Toughness needs to be improved. If the Fencer is to be a defensive tank, then we need a higher toughness. Higher end mobs no longer miss, they were given 100% accuracy. To compensate, we need to have Dodge work more often against them with CoB running or a higher toughness to compensate so the Pikemen, Swordsman, Carbineers, Riflemen, Bounty Hunters and Commandos can take them down with their AP2 and Heavy weaponry.

Jersey Accents don't sound like that. Take it from someone who lives in Jersey.... oh, you mean NEW Jersey? (I actually really like all the Americans I've met, but the next one who asks me why I don't have an American accent when I live in Jersey will... dissappear).

Um... sorry for being completely off-topic CH's... as you were...

Tiggs, thank you for your interest in our profession.

You'll notice in my signature that I'm a MCH and a Master Pistoleer, both considered very broken professions. As a Wookiee, before there was armor, I had to be very clever in how I did my hunting so that I wouldn't die. Having a good pet to help tank helped. Having some medic skills did too. So, I did some of this the hard way.

I invested a lot of time and skill points in becoming MCH, and I would never give it up. Why? Because for me, there is some RP in the MMORPG, and I think that to Rustitobuck, who prefers to hunt, and prefers the wilderness more than cities, it's only natural that he has some animal friends following him around.

I agree with almost all of the complaints and suggestions made here, so instead of repeating a few lists, I'll just add some comments.

I would like to see Creature Handlers as a useful support profession, which would also make them a useful combat profession. I want other players to think...buffs, check, armor, check, good weapons, check, got a doctor on the team, check, TKM, check, MCH with high level pets, check.

I suppose the biggest detriment to that teamwork is the restriction on calling pets. Delays for call, delays for store, can't call during combat. When I was seeking CH xp, the best way was to go on a big group Rancor hunt, and use a small pet to bite all the rancors. On a good night, I could make a whole box. Of course, once everybody got geared up and gung-ho, nobody wanted to wait 40 seconds for me to store a pet, or 15 for me to call it in the wild. Once I pulled out the pet, there were piles of dead rancors, thanks to the TKMs in the party.

I think pet calling should go in the combat queue with everything else. If I can reach into my pack for a replacement pistol (and I carry many of those, both for different damage types, and to replace burned out units), why can't I whistle for a pet to show up? A few seconds delay, just like a weapon, would be fair. The after-combat store doesn't make any sense at all. What's the metaphor, I tell the pet, "go hide" and the pet thinks, "no, I have to stare at this patch of ground and wonder why the rancor disappeared"?

And so I ask you to ask the devs to really consider what changes to CH will mean to the CH themselves, and to the interactions between CH and other professions, and the balance of synergy between CH and BE. (Man, I wish I could buy pet stims anywhere at all.) Galaxies was designed for a high level of interdependency between players and professions. Please make us useful and relevant.

Again, thank you for your time.

A can't say this often enough....

Enough with the two chassis per droid... just pick onemodule layout per droid modeland make 'em all use a chassis component that we can make in factories. As it is, I have 40 crates that I need to carry around in order to makecustom droids. If people want more chassis, make DIFFERENT ones. I try to maintain a large variety of droids on my vendor. I can't fathom how a casual player could do what I'm attempting, given the sheer number of combinations there are currently for droids. No other profession has our level of customization... and yet, every other profession is crafting something more useful than droids. So the amount of effort vs the amount of gain is really trying my patience.

God forbid I also try to work on repair and reconstruction kits.

Tiggs, Thank you very much for your responces. I agree with some of the others in that you apparently are more than willing to clarify things that might have been taken the wrong way. I too, took it the wrong way at first. I think that the reason the majority of us never complain (except in the forums) is that we recognize it as useless. My melee, defence stacking, guild mates laughed at me for staying a MCH. I love my guys, dont get me wrong. But they were right, I could be a much better and effective player if I just dumped MCH. I just don't want to. Even with all that needs to be done to fix us, we are still one of the coolest professions around. Thank you again for your quick respoce to clarify your stand. I respect you for that and understand where you were coming from, now. Anyway, PLEASE do not take it personally if some of us go off now and then. We have become very sensitive and sometimes jump to defend our views before we fully understand the responce. We have not had alot of constructive posts from any dev in so long some of us might not know how to react.

I again would ask that you review our issues as it is updated regularly and pretty much has been the same since jan or so.

If you are EVER on Ahazi please feel free to send me a tell. I would be more than happy to show you some of our concerns.

PS: Have you even seen the Creature Handler Issues Guide I gave TH? I handed it to him personally at FanFest as well as several other Devs. Quote "This is the type of stuff we are looking for". I put alot of work into that and it brought out alot of our concerns.

PSS: Please look at the corral thread ver 3 and let us know what YOU think. This is the type of stuff we are willing to try and put together to help CH.

PSSS: Pluto is really a nice guy!! And he often puts forth our concerns better than most.

CH needs somthing like " if i learn empathy 1, i would get a 10+ defense against creatures " or somthing like that, so its not like the skills are just for your pets, but YOU yourself get somthing out of it.
