Thread: CL 10 Creatures Still too much
kparton wrote:I have been thinking about this for a little bit and Im really beginning to think that there is a reason why they dont to tell us what is right for a lvl 10 pet. they must believe we can work it out by ourself.Listen, On the BE FAQ, its explains there that we can make pets better by about 10-15% using good componants and samples to its equivelent. So, by basically going to SWG Creatures.com ands looking at all the lvl 10 creatures you can come up if a figure easily.I coulnd find a single wild lvl10 critter with a HAM larger than 2k, the best i could find was a mutant bark mite hatchling:http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=507This creature has a HAM of 1.8k, 10% Resists and damage is Unknown, so if for example I BE one of these with a 3.6K HAM then thats a 100% increase!!Can you see what im getting at now?
Actually, if you filter out aggro and non-tameable mobs, the best wild pet is the plodding falumpaset, with a HAM of 1300 and no kinetic. So we're actually looking at an improvement of closer to 300%.
Well that just makes it worse, I hope im not right

hehe, i love be's
we have the best job. like buyign a used car, that we haven't seen yet, that is behind a curtain. and smoke is billowing from it the salesman essures you the car isn't on fire. or like a lame horse.
too the point. DEVS..... listen up. and listen carefully. fix ch when the droid patch is released. this will help out the be's mor ethen you can imagine. why? because then people will go ch. and we can stop worrieng about lvl 10 critters, then we can worry about lvl 15. and then lvl 35, and lvl 50.
and lvl 70
YAY!!!! now that's my passion. selling thosefor 150k a piece and MORE.
is nicer then selling non ch pets for 20k.the ch patch. if you can call it a patch, mostly was a nerf. fix it. restore ch to it's former stature. keep the same number of pets that we can have now. keep the commands that we can have now. and such. but, MOST IMPORTANTLY. RAISE NON_CH back up TO lvl 15..... why do this? becuase it will help out the be's a lot too. i have tried to make cl lvl 10 critters with some resistances, 10 15% kinetic and energy, just some. not uber. and to get the lvl down to 10. it has to have 1k ham.... which in pve get's killed in. what, 40 secs. maybe more, maybe less. it's a distraction more then it is anything else. i'm all for non ch's having a great pet to fight with them. (not for them). 4k ham, 8k ham, whatever. why did i say that? am i nuts? well when the enemies have 80k. 125k. 350k. hams. resistances 100% to anything. errrrr. what's a player to do. you can't always group up with a commando and have him burn the pet while you "distract it" or have a tka dizzy knockdown exploit, so they can't get back up.
sigh. be's... we ar ethe few, the proud. the completely nuts for choosing this profession. the non-holoed bio engineers. ![]()
Not that I want to put oil into the fire:
Messing with Herek Harvester (1&2) as well as Deranged Wrix (3,4 & 5) going into 2nd / 3rd Gen I made this Monstrosity:
CL10
10245Health / 5453 Action / 4196 Mind
Kinetic Resist 60%, Blast 49%, Heat 5%, Vulnerability to all else.
Attack Speed 2.12, To Hit 0.2, Damage 160-170
Special 1: Stunning Strike, Special 2: -, Ranged: No

The way this works I hope there will be changes. I do not say nerf hence the system is nice as it is now, just get out the bugs that make this possible.
I didn't call the pet btw. I consider ita Trophy.
The role I see in lvl10 non CH Pets is a pure PvE tank. They cant tank long but as is today you can heal them instantly so they sure got nice HAM.

man..this really sucks. youd think that the devs would at least say whats acceptable and whats not instead of just saying that they are too powerful.
Ive sold so many 4k ham pets. sigh...Sure, i'll defiantely be refunding my customers if they come to me with broken cl10's but you know what really pisses me off? all my wasted time and effort to make these creatures. such a bloody turn off.
I dont get whats so overpowering either. a 4k health pet with 10% kinetic, vulnerable to everything else doesnt last that much longer. against a mid to high level target, they last seconds. Is it killing to the CH community? whys that? the pets that they can use can be made in such a way that they are defended against most types of damage, have a way better to hit number and atttack speed. These 4k ham pets cant HIT to save their lives and are so slow their aggro are doing them 2-3 hits for every one they do.
I am a BE on the Test Center, and a CH on Starsider, so I think I can both your frustration, and that of CHs. I have one of these great pets, that has 3k ham, and is cl 9. My problem with it is that I have other pets that are cl 20, that aren't much better than that one. I have seen cl 9 and 10 pets with 6k ham running around that are better than the cl 20 to 25 pets that I had to gain skills to use. So unless the cl 11 and up pets are gonna be able to have up to 20k ham, it really isn't fair to give a cl 10 pet more than 2k ham.
Sure it is. Look at the (nerfed) probot. Only 800 ham, but medium armor and 40% resist all makes it the equivalent of a 5300 ham pet with no resists. Since BE created pets (tend to... I understand the extremes like the 10k 60% kinetic monster posted above are way out of the curve) don't usually pass 10% kinetic, 3k health isn't as 'strong' as an existing droid that's been existing for about forever (and is largely considered useless despite its durability).
Not all CLs are created equally, even after the 'creature rebuild' that supposedly normalized them. Can't wait to see real numbers on our CL 'combat droids' if any match up to (or exceed) the lowly probot.
Actually, I made a Level 7, 34% Kinetic resist Vir Vur with third generation DNA from Gurk Grandparents, 1.2k to 2.4k HAM, and it was nerfed when given to a friend of mine to 300 HAM. Since our pets are affected by status ailments and droids are not, we are screwed. I've not been BE long enough nor have I gotten far enough into the profession, but I think most of our market base is wiped out. The only things we're going to be able to sell are untameable pets, because apparently, anything better than wild tamed pets is "glitched". So, that's where I'm going to aim for. Then again, I'm dropping this class the day after I master it. CH and BE are essentially worthless. Guess I'll just actually start my Holo Grind for Doctor...

The pets you are selling (the ones you described in your complaint about this issue a few days ago - 4000/2000/2000) are overbalanced and will be nerfed.
We can only do two things until this is set right - stop selling pets or make them with wild abandon and buyer beware. I don't like either course.
The thing is less than that level has a very low usefulness. That's the thing the devs don't understand is that if they make it so cl10 is 1000/800/800, 2% kinetic, 50 damage, no specials, then no one will use them or make them either. Why would someone use something that can be taken out by kreetles?

Tevys wrote:Yes.. padre you hit the nail on the head. The non ch biz is ruined either way.. no one wants to buy non ch pets anymore because they will get 'nerfed' sooner or later, and if they DO fix this, no one will want what we can make. This is why i stopped making them completely. Its hard to make good non ch pets, and when you get one you have to sell it at a price that makes it not worth it because no one wants to spend any kind of money on them when they wont be usable someday.BE's should be able to make things better then the wild. PERIOD
Making things better than in the wild is the whole idea right? If the limit is so small and cookiecutterish than what's the point?
