Thread: Factories
Ok Factory usage 101 starts now.
1. You need to create a Schematic.
1.a. You need to be near a Crafting station to create a schematic. It then comes up as an option. Note. I suggest you name Schematics with type and Resoucres in the name or something to identify them.
2. Once you have a schematic you will get an option on the Factory to Add Schematic (which is stored in your Data Pad).
3. Once the Schematic is inserted you the get an option to Add Ingredients. NOTE. The Ingredients MUST be the SAME (identical) as those used in the Schematic, so if you want to make 100 of something and it requires say 100 metal, thats 10K of the same metal. You CAN'T substitute from a different pile. So if you made the schematic from a pile of Dile Ore, THAT is what MUST be put in the ingredients hopper. This means that if you run out of whatever resources you used, then go back to step 1 with the new resources.
4. Start the Factory. Do NOT stop it to check if its working. Let it finish its RUN.
5. When you get an e-mail saying Factory has used all resources, and a second saying Factory has finished THEN go and take the finished products from the output hopper.
END Factory Usage 101.

Last time I checked to see if I was getting exp I was getting so little it wasn't worth it.
I run 3-4 Factories (Depending on Demand). I have them all placed right next to each other in a nice little square. I've done runs of 3 advanced components and a rack of Stim-B's at the same time. While standing in the middle of the 4 factories, all running, I was netting about 50 exp every 30 mins.
YES, It's THAT LOW.
I haven't been getting any XP from my factory (since the big patch?) even though I used to get a nominal amount. It wasn't much but every little bit helps.
One other thing about factories (a positive note that one): I've read somewhere that they now accept crates (even incomplete ones) of components and will process them correctly. Is that true? If so Woohoo!

Yes, they handle crates just fine now.
It used to work before, but you had to be specific on how you loaded your crates and everything else into the ingredients hopper and if the server rebooted for any reason, your factory would stop.
can anyone tell me how it works with gaining exp withfactories ?
sometimes i get a bit most of the time i get nothing, is it bugged ?
thx
It's pretty buggy, but you get 10% of the normal xp if your factory produces while you're logged in and on the same subsrver (about 1000 meters).
It's not really worth it, the only effective way I've found to get medicine crafting xp is to get a pile of a few thousand organics and inorganics and grind away (with a macro you can make 1 item every 5 seconds, I got master CM crafting in a little over 2 hours starting from 0)
