Thread: Factories
the macro is simple really
open the crafting tool select your item (ie enter times 2 opens this fast)
place your selected units into the it
hit your macro key for the following
/nextcraftingstage (repeat this line 3 time)
/createprototype pratice no item (repeat this line 2 times)
this macro will end your crafting with no load times and create the prototype in the practice mode for max exp. using this macro i was able to get 5 unit making che duration units at a time (33 sec per unit creation time)

what good are factories .. can anyone use one.. i am a bio engi. and .. well.. do i need a factory?

Im not sure about bio engineer. But most crafting classes have components that say "Requires 3 identical Power Blaster Handlers from a factory crate". So, maybe if you need built components later on you will need more than one with the same serial number :/
They can be used for things such as if you have an order to satisfy, you can use lots of them and go offline for a while. Then come back on in a few hours and then move some stuff around and start building again.
They are kind of useful for me (i am a weaponsmith) and i use 2 or 3 i have an extra one incase i need it.
Yes, anyone can use a factory. If you buy a schematic from someone, you can use a factory to make things you otherwise wouldn't be able to, so long as you have the correct type of factory (and the right materials).

The bold part means that you probably don't. As far as I know, none of the BE items can be crafted in a factory (pet stims, tissues, etc).
In general, factories are used to mass produce items, either to reduce the artisan carpal tunnel syndrome for salable items, or to make subcomponents; as mentioned, some higher-level items need X identical components, which can only be made in factories. First, the artisan makes a schematic, crafted the same way as an item, but making the "blueprints" for the item instead of the physical object. This schematic and the resources used to make it (the resources have to be the exact named ones used to make the schematic) are put into a factory, which grinds out crates.
On chilstra it is very variable.
I got mine for 25k but the lowest I seen is 30k apart from this one i found. Some sell at 50k.So probabaly god idea to shop aroud and be patient when buying one.
I can't make stimB's with my factory.
I must be stupid or something! This thing is the most unfriendly piece of crap to use! While I can load schematics that I made for my chemical release duration component and make them, my stimB schematic is bad because it wants me to feed it all the components for it, not just use the schematic and ingredients.
No problem, I think. I can give it the schematics for the other 2 components: biological effects and liquid suspension. Nope. I can't make schematic items for these--I can only make prototypes. And my draft datapad schematics aren't recognized as data schematics I guess, because they can't be loaded into the factory.
So it wants me to make 100 ea of these 2 components. Essentially 2/3rds the effort! Then it would be happy to let me make stimB's.
What's wrong here please!

Its not that complicated. Draft schematics you got from Organic Chem do not count as factory schematics
1. To make a factory schematic, you must be next to a public or private crafting station (depending on the item being made).
2. To use the schematic in a factory, you must load the intended schematic, then load the EXACT SAME INGREDIENTS used to make the schematic. The organics/inorganics must be the EXACT SAME type you used to make the schematic. You cant make a schematic with Irov steel, then try and use goble steel in the factory. Also, when making stim B's, all the biological effect controllers, liquid suspension, etc, must have THE EXACT SAME serial number as the ones you used to make the schematic, ie, BEC's from the same factory crate.
