Maybe I'm just being too theoretical. I guess my question becomes this, and I asked TH this before sans reply - "Are we hunters of (thus having the power to defeat) all other players, including Jedi - or are we just the villianous cannon fodder of the movies?"

That's what I want answered.

The only thing I will submit is this:


Whatever changes/fixes/etc that the devs decide to take on, please emphasize that our primary role as MBH is to hunt JEDI. Therefore, any enhancements/changes/fixes should be to make us better suited to go against them, not to make us better at pvp in general. And I really don't care if I can solo an enraged rancor lair either. Our droids, our defenses, our offenses should all be tailored to help us find and kill Jedi. Period.

I insist that our primary role is to hunt Jedi because at this point in the game....IT IS! If you went MBH for the npc missions or to pve then...well...uhh....whatever. There is only one form of content for MBH....jedi. Now, if the devs are planning to add player bounties, then they already know that and they can disregard a jedi specific tailoring for bh. But that hasn't been communicated to us at this point, so I sayhelp make us as we are now, the best that we can be for the tasks we have to do.

I don't neceisarily want to huntjust Jedi, make NPC mission more varied and challenging and add PC bouties besides Jedi. Right now the only challenge in BH hunter is Jedi but it doesn't have to be.

Well I would say for me the top 5 are:


1.) LLC Far too inaccurate. We need some increased accuracy for this any why isn't there any at Mastery? Our other weapons get more accuracy at master and not the LLC and the LLC doesn't have a whole tree with boosts in it already.


2.) The complete lack of defense. We are suppose to hunt players and have no defense. Thats crazy.


3.) Fire KnockDown would be nice if there was some actual fire.


4.) Bleed from tyhe pistol tree is so weak it has no effect that I have ever seen.


5.) The traps and camps are useless to a BH. Hunting is inly useful for making money. To put us on par with a Commando I would say a BH needs Marksman Mastery and Exploration so we can chase our marks up hills. That would give us at least some more points to fix out class a bit

I agree with most of what is said here. The only thing I wish is to be respected as a BH.

A Master Bounty Hunter should be feared. When he walks in a cantina, people are talking about him(band stops), and either avoiding him or wanting him to do something for them.


I have been on the BH grind since day1 of SWG (casual player yes) and have never faltered from my original grind. I want to be a Master BH and am damn close.


However a Master BH is currently being laughed at and owned by every Combat Medic and TKM in game, and there is something seriously wrong with the profession. Do what you need to do Dev's but ultimately we need to restore respect to the Bounty Hunters in game.

1) Player bounties.NOT justJedi, andNOT just KILL bounties. ( Han Solo was NOT a Jedi, and was NOT killed either.
2) Player / Humanoid traps we can make.

3) Offense. If we are to have a low defense to offset a High offense then make us GLARINGLY HIGH IN OFFENSE!

4) MBH MUST MUST MUST be worth the cost of 217 skill points.

5) Skills designed with the concept of a Bounty Hunter in mind. Examples: Tracking ( players / marks ), Intimidation, Sneak attack / ambush etc.


I just want to add,that no matter how you slice it, a Bounty Hunters job is to bring in the mark! We should be hands down the best 1 v 1 profession, why? It's our job. I'm not saying one shot one kill. I am saying we should be MORE than capable of taking down any one SINGLE target using MANY different options, be it traps, weapons, darts, skills, unique BH only non lethal options, etc.


I'm not asking to be given the tools to be the best at everything, just givenREALLY goodtools ( traps, skills, specials, weapons, etc ) to do the ONE thing REALLY well..... 1 v 1 success atbringing in my mark. My Job. It's that simple.

I like this, we could have a take alive mark and the we would have to incap the person then throw a special trap on them and we get an icon in our inventory that is someone froze in carbonite or something.

You guys have pretty much covered all that I have concerns with.


Does jedi not stay off the boards by logging off and on?


I have some on my friends list and they log off and on about every 5-10 mins


we need higher payout for master missions


I think at master we sould be able to hunt NPC jedi.


also only masters should be able to hunt jedi.


Ham cost is insane.


LLC is a joke PvP


we need a cold damage MBH only carbine with a Freeze DOT that does the same thing as fire.


Much higher payout for masters


and also dont forget the broke missions.


We need to be as powerfull as the Skill points we spend


Last thing, we should be able to solo jedi, if not why do they not make us group, like the other mission terminals do for the high level missions.


This is just dreaming but MBH should have a jetpack and be able to burst fly.

1. Fix droids/Jedi logoff issue. And/or give us other player marks to hunt besides Jedi.
2. Change specials on LLC to work from 50-67m. Good grief we have pistols already.
3. BH only carbine. Stun damage. Certify in investigation tree (3 or 4) to prevent dabblers.
4. Master BH only Mandalorian armor.
5. Fix HAM costs on carbines, and give us more accuracy across the board on all weapons.

I bought this game to be a bounty hunter. You couldn't GIVE me a Jedi character.

Thoughts on Bounty Hunter
Next to Jedi, Bounty Hunters are supposed to be the most feared profession in the Star Wars universe. In game, this is hardly the case. They effectively and efficiently track down and kill or capture their mark. They are generally loners, and don't play nice with others. We are master marksman after all. I don't expect as much as a profession like carbineer/rifleman/pistoleer, who is limited to 1 weapon type. However, should we chose to spend what few remaining points we have left in one of those professions, our attacks should get an additional bonus w/ that weapon type since it would increase specialization.

PVP
There needs to be an npc/pc trap that immobilizes/kd/or has some sort of def lowering effect on targets. To my knowledge, there are no creature bounties...so the current traps are useless. Bounty Hunters should excel at 1 vs 1 PVP. This is an elite profession supposedly specializing in this very subject. Any template goon can easily kill me in PVP because I simply just can't hit them. We need more mods to accuracy and accuracy while moving especially. Since we have about as much defense as a novice artisan, our offensive attacks should be nearly devastating. I don't want to 1 or 2 shot kill anyone and be uber, but status effects like bleed, fire, kd, etc should stick a lot more than they do and be more damaging. We shouldn't give any bonus to being in a group because of the nature of being a Bounty Hunter, thus giving us no real advantage in multiple target situations.

Content
The Jedi logout exploit (and it IS an exploit) needs to be fixed. This is the only player target available to us and it needs to work properly. I would like to see the Death Mark system implemented, especially on the Jabba theme park. I think most BH have comepleted this quest just for the RP value alone. Players should be notified that there is a price on their head, it would make it even better. I also like the option of being able to keep my faction affiliation and also being affiliated with a bounty hunter's guild. We should also have some sort of mark tracking system listing confirmed kills in our bio. I think an "Offer Bounty" option would be nice in the trade window. Give players the option to offer up bounties on other players.

Equipment
Mandalorian armor...please. It should be Bounty Hunter specific and any master armorsmith should be able to make it in custom colors. The armor would ideally have high energy/blastand especially restraint/stun resistance. We should also have a unique carbine. Something medium range/damage/speed that does stun damage. I mentioned the npc/pc trap earlier, but it's worth mentioning again here. This is what we do, trap and capture/kill humanoids. It's the very definition of a Bounty Hunter.

Final Thoughts
I think the devs would agree that we're a hardcore bunch. Jedi are Jedi because they want to look cool. Most other professions are done because of templates, dabbling, or hologrinding. If you're a Bounty Hunter, chances are you really don't want to do anything else. Requiring mastery of 3 professions should mean something. Give us the tools and abilities that reflect that.

1) Make all marks aggressive (they know they're being hunted), or moving (how unrealistic is that?) This fixes invisible/clipped marks.


2) Give us a BH specific skill that uses our mods for /scentmask to /maskradar. Set the difficulty for this action to 1/2 of the skill points accrued by a Player (ie a master bounty hunter with no other skills would be a Creature Level 113 for purposes of the mask). This means that masking in cities should be near impossible(mult. checks), as it should, and hiding ourselves from inexperienced players would be much easier. This would also give us a reason to go up the camoflage tree in ranger, which could give us some well deserved dichotomy as a class... (do you stalk your prey or overwhelm them?)


3) Give us more bounty hunter specific weapons. Instead of skill rebalancing it may prove fruitful to give us new weapon certs as we advance, weapons with nice range mods, low HAM, and stun damage. It makes no sense that a bounty hunter would only gain access to two new weapons in their profession. It equally makes no sense that we're an "offense" class and can't hit anything. At least one stun damage weapon makes perfect sense because often a bounty hunter does not want to kill their mark (remember Bobba... "He's of no use to me dead."). If anything its inappropriate that we get area effect attacks litcone2 etc, and have no ability to kill one on one, which is where we should excel.


4) Give our NPCs different titles. As of right now 90% of the Bounty Hunters on my server all migrate daily to Kaadara on Naboo, because no one had the courtesy to drop enough of our NPCs or give them different titles so we know which ones to talk to. This whole thing of having 15 spynet ops npcs in a city but having none of them be the right level to start your missions adds to our frustration and makes it VERY HARD on folks who start the game and want to try out our profession. Part of this request HAS to be an NPC drop for our PA cities. We could drop 15 BH terminals in my hometown, but the needed spynet ops never spawn among the npcs there. All and all this issue has made BHs everywhere into shuttlewhores (can I say that? lol) and takes away time from our missions and money from our pocketbooks. I have spent more of my gaming experience staring at that darn ticket collector.....


5) Please Please Please give us pay commensurate with our work. Hunting a person across five planets should give ya more than 15k, especially when just travelling to and from a planet can cost up to 5k. Bounty Hunters (successful ones, lol) should be able to afford the better items in the game and eventually our own ships (and I swear I'm gonna nuke that freakin ticket collector from orbit when I have one). Multiply mission payout by two or three and you'll be in the right area.
