Deg,

I've heard rumors of an Oasis, but I'm not sure where.

I've had the most luck fishing on Naboo and Yavin 4. Lots of water on both planets.

Personally I like rori because i can make a camp JUST right and camp and fish at the same time. Not as easy as it sounds.

Today I was on Naboo and just messing around with fishing and I ended up catching a Decorative Vest. Nothing special about it, but just had to share it. Haven't seen any post about others catching stuff other then fish.

ThRok,

I think this was recently added - but yeah, you will sometimes get junk. And the sad thing is, you get no XP.

But I hope the vest looks good on you.

Some extra tips:

Fish should always be filted. This provides meat to sell, or cook as a chef. Plus, it provides chum for bait.

I've read that the further out you cast, the more likely the chance of line break
If your line goes out too far, stop fishing and re-cast. Easiest way is to get into the water, and face shore.

The better quality the pole the better your chance of catching a fish. Also, the spot should have 4+ stars for density, and 0 stars for vegetation (increases chance of snagging line).

When the bait is mushy, stop fishing and re-cast to have fresh bait. Soggy bait gets stolen easier.

Fish is good. Fishing is gooding.

No I didn't speelcheck.

Once you are pulling in a fish you can walk towards it inorder to reduce the distance. This greatly reduces the number of times darn things will get away from you. I guess it is kind of an exploit, but is very useful if you are trying to get a large amount of fish meat or bait.

I've found if you tug one way when you get "Nibble...", then you get "Bite?!?" the majority of the time. When you get "Bite?!?", tug another way. I've found this is the best way to catch fish, also make sure you have a good quality pole, 80-90+.

Anyone know for sure how many kinds of fish there are? I have about 6 different kinds, but cant find anywhere where it lists all of them.

you just have to read what the fish is doing and move the bait (or not moveit) in order to get a good bite, then set your hook and reel it in...It's very much like real fishing and it's not hard after you get the hang of it...One tip, don't react before the fish does:

fish nibbles...

do nothing...

fish nibbles...

tweak the bait a bit (or not)

fish bites...

pull the pole (you have to do something at this point)

You get fishing bait by foraging and fileting fish to get chum bait. as far as skill i found its just repetitive timing...around 4 to 5 sec in between each command...then the menu resets itself....good luck all you fisherman from Newfie fisherman..

Types of fish:

Ray, Faa, Laa, Blackfish, Bluefish, Blowfish, Striped fish

You can fish on any planet (including the oases on Tatooine). There are different color variations for each fish from each planet. Most of the variations aren't very noticeable except when examining the Blackfish (short vertical stripes down back) and the Striped fish (long stripes down sides). Colors for the stripes on the Striped fish are White, Orange, Red, Brown, Black, Purple, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Dark Green, Light Green.

The highest quality fishing rod I could get a Master Artisan to craft out of the best resources I could gather was 98%, I also got them to make me 5 crates of 25 fishing rods thatwere 95%. However, I recently purchased a 100% quality fishing rod from a vendor close to Coronet on Corellia (Radiant Server).

I haven't noticed any significant difference between the 95% and the 100% so if you are on Radiant and like to fish, shoot me a tell, I have plenty of fishing rods in stock and I'll cut you a deal if you act now! The Inifinty Pro is my favorite, but they're all at 95% quality so the name is just a matter of taste. I also have a bag full of 5 stack chum bait if you need some, they really come in handy if you are short on carrying space and you won't have to reload your pole as often either.

P.S.I did spell oases correctly, it is the plural for oasis.

P.P.S. To master fishing you must master your bait.
