Thread: Critical Failures
I know how you guys feel ![]()
Total Crit: 3 PA halls, 1 City Hall, 4 out of 30 Heavies
counless wall modules and structure modules (while being MASTER!)

Tell me about it. A couple of days ago I had two crit failures on medium naboo houses IN A ROW.
If I was a novice with crappy material, I might accept that, but I am 4/4/4/4 architect with 130AXP to finish master, and I was using a +14% station and +12% tool, 83% walls, foundation ore was OQ 778, all gen turbines and storage mods were "great successes" or better (post-patch, so I couldn't experiment them up any further).
I'm afraid to make another one now. I'll lose my mind if I get a third crit in a row, and at this point, it doesn't seem too implausible. My suggestion is to cry foul. I opened a ticket and let them know exactly how absurd the situation is and politely requested my material back. I'm not holding my breath, but you never know...
However since 1.5 weeks ago it doesn't matter which station I use they both produce insane numbers of CFs.
Factories is the answer I am afraid.. shut the business down for a week collect and make as many components as you can and feed in the end-result schematic.
* If you didn't lose the resources in the resource squares (I know that's not what they are called, I'm just getting a brain fart), type /nextcraftingstage;/nextcraftingstage;/createprototype ... This will often finish the craft, giving you the item - but you will NOT be able to experiment or customize the item. Good for crits on walls. Actually you can do this any time after filling up the resources for an item - I do it all the time on things that aren't customized or experimented. Saves time.
* If you did lose the resources in the resource squares, switch to another crafting tool and craft something before trying again. I can't count how many times I got sequential crits on the same tool. Seems the tool gets stuck in 'fail' mode until you go to another tool and then come back to it.
I'm MA and I purchased a +37 crafting station for 30,000. Am using a 14.95 tool and I got 2 critical failures in the assembly stage twice in one week which outnumbers cf's I got on my crummy cheap station. It was not on the same tool either. I personally don't think they do a darn thing. Also, I'm a Master Artisan and I failed seven "7" times in a row manually sampling resource!!! Go figure.

For those getting critical failures I want to know a few things. First how many experiment points are they using each time. I never use more than 2 or 3 during a single experiment. Also is the maleability of the materials poor or good? If the maleability isn't terrible, and u only use 2 or 3 experiment points and you are using a good 14+ tool and 40+ stations then I see no reason why you should crit fail. But something odd did happen yesterday that I will discuss and it really makes no sense.
I have been using a 14.79 tool and 42.27 crafting station for quite a while and a critical failure only occurs once in a blue moon. I am 0-4-4-0 architect and make BER 10 mediums. Sometimes the initial assembly is only good or success which makes it very difficult to reach BER 10 using only9 experiment points. So I asked my friend who is a master architect to experiment for me. I gave him the tool I was using and we used my stations. I had him relog. Then we tried some powerups using 999 OQ metal and chemical. He got a few critical failures. Once he was able to make some powerups with no failures I had him do the medium flora and he got a critical failure but was still able to make a BER 10 because he had a great initial assembly. What is wierd here is that he was getting critical failures when I typically never did and I can't tell you why because I don't have any bonuses being a trandosham while he was a human.
3 crit fails on heavy water harvs last night right in a row. Then the 4th I got a crit fail on the first experimentation so it took me 5 set of resources to make aschematic for that. Thank god they weren't mineral harvs. 28 walls would be painful.
With the exception of houses(since I haven't had to make many) I make everything in a factory. Its pathetic that using 30kish resources making a schematic probably saves me 100k resources a day.
Krondac,
I never made a large structure to a shematic, so I dont know hwat happenes. WOuld like please to lightem me up?
Obviously some architectsreport to have been producing Heavy harvesters in a factory, so other than the needof a lot of materials what else wouldmake that possible?
Hostility much, Krondac? Chill. Out.
Most of us have noticed the increase in crit failures. After two massive adjustments in harvester strength, bugs in maintenance and power consumption/reports and competition lowering prices to ridiculous amounts (made possible in some situations by duping) this unwarranted explosion of criticals has been enough to make me give up on architecture until it's straightened out, and work again on weaponsmithing as a casual career. I rarely even log onto my architect anymore, it's become that depressing.
FYI I use a 41% station and 14% tools, my architect is a Mon Cal (bonuses to structure crafting) and I criticaled two assembly stage heavy harvs and then criticaled the experimentation on extraction. I use as many points as I can when I experiment, because it gives greater yield per success. One or two points won't make much difference. That was the last attempt I made at facilities. I'll make some white furniture for decoration, some tents for my city, maybe some statues or fountains... but I'm not touching the trade otherwise until this is straightened out.
