Oh for the love of christ.

We have to go through this -AGAIN-?

Frankly, this is bull**edit**. It's bad enough they pulled this on us once and left us speculating and lynching each other, but yet again I'm going to have to go around to my customers and warn them that the pets they are buying -may- turn out to be un-usable?

Thank god we got chef tissues or I'd be SOL.

And where is this research data we're supposed to be able to add? It sure isn't in the Geonosian Dungeon.

It looks like many of you are completely forgetting that non-CH pets are not supposed to be tanks. They were added in game as a pure entertainment item, so people who were not Creature Handlers could have a little Fluffy follow them around town. Since that addition, it has been apparently conceded by the devs that a lvl 10 pet should have a mild combat usefulness as denoted by their upcoming release of lvl 10 combat droids. If you want a tank, hang out with a Brawler or Creature Handler or be one yourself.

Look at lvl 10 natural animals. Their HAM is 900 to 1100, with resists being very minor to none. A Bio-Engineer's trademark is making enhanced pets that are better than what is found in the wild... however if you think making a lvl 10 pet with four times the natural power and rivaling a lvl 20 creature is appropriate for everyone to use, then you beon da ganja mon.

So does that mean the upcoming CL 10 combat droids that are advertised for next publish are just supposed to be fluffy pets too?

All we are asking for is guidelines....... is that too much to ask from the Devs?

Freaking A, do the devs understand we acually GRIND to make non ch pets? its not like other professions where u can factory make pets, and it jsut matters how many skilltapes and how good of rescources available. In fact we have NO skill mods, and rescource quality dosnt matter (exept KNOWING, yes knowledge is needed, what dna to use and how to use it). Im going to most likley quit BE after the update of nerfness, my income consists of non ch pets, and only those, exept those occasional missions i do to get 9k or 6k depending what i do.

I can make a 9k health 20-25% kinetic resists Clvl 10 pet, sure thismay seem overpowered, but to an elite combat profession this is probably a crutch. These pets have AR=0, composite is AR=1 these pets can have about 2 total resists around 20%, composite can have every resists exept stun over 65%, people can get buffs that make them have about 3k health and regenerate like a feind. not to mention these pets are totally usless in PvP because they dont get the damage reduction! If the HAM is high, then usually thedamage and acuracy sucks aswell. All's im saying is that these pets arent very usful as of now and if their max health got changed to 4k they would be lunch for a regular huurton with no problem.

Ok, now lets look at DE as it is right NOW. The advanced chasis probe droid as of now had what, 43% to all resists (not sure abotu vulnrebility) AR=2!! and only 900 or so health that has to be healed. One of these things can tank 3 pickets for probably 30 seconds or so. AFTER the combat modules get in place these droids will only improve from what they already are.

Just to give you an idea of what can be created at lvl 10, I made this tonight:

Bluurg 1(10)

Health: 9689

Action: 7499

Mind: 5542

Armour: none (thankfully)

Kinetic resist: 47

All other resists: Vulnerable

Attack speed: 2.11

To hit: 0.26

Damage: 120-130

Sp1: Dizzy strike

Sp2 Stunning strike

Ranged: Yes

This is just a bit ridiculous for a lvl 10. There doesnt seem to be any weaknesses either. Damage is quite high for a lvl 10.

Sorry for not posting a pic, I dont know how.

If anyone really doesnt believe me just mail me ingame and I will show you it. Im on the Chimaera server.

I didnt even deliberately create it. I was just generation cloning something to have good specials and nice kinetic. The plan was to sample it and throw it back into the mix.

I wont be destroying it now, obviously.

But on the other hand I cant ethically sell it.

Yeah a lvl 10 with 4k health and 14 kinetic I can square with just about, but this?

Gonna give it to a non-CH mate to use until its made invalid.

And I wont be trying to create another.

This is absurd, I think their goal is for level 10 pets to be totally worthless. I want the level bumped back up to 15, then people MIGHT be interested in what we're making.

Arkham-

First, I agree that this pet is outside the bounds of what a CL10 should be. Especiallycompared tothe typical CL35+ pets that a BE can make - it's just not weak enough by comparison.

Second, Talthazar described one of your pets to the BE Dev and his comment was "Yep, that's overpowered for CL10 too" although he didn't say by how much or why. I completely agree with your comment that we deserve an answer.

For those who think the creation of these 10k ham CL10 pets has done damage to the profession, I submit this question: do you think we are closer to an answer because the Devs had to address this or further away?

Cheers-

Nice creature, but I wonder why the level is so low considering the DNA that had to be used to get those two Abilities and in that order and considering the Ranged attack which needed another DNA type, so anywise...

This must prove my theory that a random system was implemented in the system for Creature Creation.

Because I dont see how level 30 DNA would yield a level 10 otherwise.

And to counter the example of a ridiculous pet (overpowered) created under the current system...

I made this:
Kaadu
DL 0 (5)
Vitality 100/100
Health 22 (229)
Action 13 (139)
Mind 15 (157)
Armor none
Kinetic 0
Heat/Cold/Electricity 5
Blast/Acid/Stun Vulnerable
Attack speed 2.18
To hit .21
Damage 5-10 (30-40)
Crippling strike
Mild poison
No ranged attack

This was made with NO experimentation on the template, using 'yard trash' DNA (nightspiders, flesh eating chuba, maybe a frail squall, from right up against the buildings of Narmle on Rori. No 'real' critters were used in this experiment).

Why am I posting this craptastic critter? When I tamed the deed, I received an insufficient skill to control this creature (though it went into my datapad). When I attempted to call the kaadu from the datapad, I received the same, along with a message telling me to use the pet trade-in system. I traded it to another non-CH, with the same results.
How is THIS pet invalid?? Dear god, if it breathes it must be invalid, judging from this example.

Oh, by the way: On an unarmored creature, 0 resist and vulnerable behave the same for damage. No increased damage done to the critter by the 'vulnerable' damage type, because there's no armor to bypass. So don't act like no-armor-vuln-all is a trade off... it's the same as 0% resist across the board as far as I've ever seen or had demonstrated.

5 stars for Seshemw. The devs should see this. Four stars for the post and 1 for proper use of the word "Craptastic"

the comment about 0 resist and vuln being the same is wrong. in Qs primer on armor he said that vuln add 25% to the damage.
