Ok heres a question for you MBE's.

Now, yes I am a holo'd BE, not that thats a bad thng, I actually enjoy this profession so far.

Here is my question, i have sampled plenty of trash and I have made a few gen. templates but I still have yet to figure out how to:

a) decide what level a pet is after creation

b) get special attacks ie:stunning strike, etc, from the samples I have (putrid decay mites are great for mild disease and low level easy to kill if they aggro)

c) decide how to give the pet it's overall traits, health, action, mind from the samples.

Where do i look on the samples for this info and decide what goes where, is there a combination of things on the samples that go into effect ie: 5 samples with intellect of 90 = 450 so does this get divided by 5 the number of samples, is it really added up together like i presume?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated and as you can see I am trying to learn more about this profession, not just level through it. :-)

**I ask this because I've seen some kick @$$ BE'd pets and i want to be one of the greats who are requested in the future, I also want to make sure that the pets I make are dependable and can tank through Rebel swine line a hot knife through butter *L* (had to add some mad ramblings or I wouldnt fit in)

Is there a way to let the macro select a particularresource? for example, to make the coffee pot thingy, 2 slots needed for vegis and one for meat, is there a way to somehow say go to the open inventory window and pick a particular one needed (kinda like picking a number on theschematic being used).

TY, Momo ...What you're referring to there is not possible within the game itself. There are commercial programs available that will write macros for you that will "click on" ingredients based on where they are located pixel-wise in your inventory. However, my understanding is that these violate the EULA, so be careful . Hope this helps!

I guess the question is, can they even legally detect outside macro programs? Not that I would, just wondering.

Great post and yes I am another Holo grinder but after reading through the bio-engineer Thread I think im going to stay with this profession and prolly pick up some CH skills as well. Bio-engineering just sounds like it would be fun and after being a master architect for 3 months it wellbe a re-freshing change.

This is a fantastic thread folks. Well done!

Just a note I'm a holo Bio-E as well. The ironic thing for me is that I was doing bio-E back in the first month of release but dropped it due to tissues not working. That being said, I've done ALL my DNA sampling so far on Yavin IV. The xp is decent and a majority of the creatures do not DB. With exploration 4 and mask scent clothing on, I can easily approach everything on the planet and sample to my heart's content. Good luck to everyone!

One other thing with the Yavin DNA. It's kind of nice being able to make non-CH pets with around 3K Ham, kinetic resists and ranged poison attacks...

A reasonable question, but I do think they can. I'm sure it isn't too difficult to program code that "seeks" foreign programs operating within the game. Think of it like a virus detection program only the virus is 3rd party software.

On the other hand, sooooo many people have exploited the game without being caught (as we all know), that I don't know what's threat/fact/fiction. Nevertheless, I wouldn't chance it.

SOE tried doing that with EQ and got thier butt handed to them for it. If they do add some sort of external-to-the-game detection program you can be sure they'll inform us of it.

Many thanks for this thread! ^_^ I am a holo Bio Engineer, I admit, however, I feel very LUCKY that this was the profession I drew first because I've wanted to play with it before. It's enjoyable. Most enjoyable.

My question however isn't what to sampe. But could someone explain the five slots?
Power

Prowess

Intellect (sort of obvious but a little fuzzy)

etc etc

What stats do they raise. I'm winding up with uber smart happy pets.. that fall in one hit into hideous woundage because their hams are pitiful. My poor swirl prong took one hit and he had black wounds down to nearly nothing. Poor baby.

The only way for any external macro program to work, is for it to first high-jack direct X which then integrates itself into the game. I've used one called "X-Unleashed"; works fine. Yes they can be detected if they are specifcally being looked for, but i think they are to busy with more important issues right now, besides they allow macros; having built them into the agame. The odds of actually geting caught are stacked way against, meaning you won't get caught. I know lots of ppl who use it. It works with any game that uses directX ..which means pretty much any game. It spawns star wars as a child of itself; used game "name" as a parameter to launch from. To try and use one any other way (without going through directx), that would be something i'd like to see =)

is there anything else used for grinding besides micro nutrient supplements which give only about 105 xp? =/ i been grinding at that all day and i'm not moving anywhere at all.. i've finally made 1-3-4-0 and was wondering if there was anything else that makes grinding a bit faster.

Pet stims offer an advantage over micronutrient supplements from an XP point of view. However, the ingredients (not the least of which include components such as liquid suspension, etc) are much more difficult or expensive to come by.

Micronutrient supplements off the most economical jaunt through our profession. You may wish to check out page 3 of this thread: I put up a very good macro that allows you to churn through micronutrient supplements at the rate of about 1k XP/hr.

You mean 10k an hour right? 1k Only takes me 2 cycles with that macro

SWG will run n a window, you don't need to go through direct x at all. Any windows macro program wil work with it.

As for detection, sure they could make swg ask windows what other apps are running, but that also wouldn't get them far. Trying to list and detect every windows macro program out there would be too much, and even then you could probably just rename you executeable. They could look inside every executeable running, but again point of diminishing returns and violation of privacy issues would realy make it not feasible.

SWG just handles mouse and keyboard inputs, it has no way to tell if they came from you clicking or a macro progra.
