Thread: 4th Gen non ch pet I just made!!!
out of curiosity did you get the message after the last patch that they needed to amend your pets level or stats ?
I had a CL14 spat with 8k ham 25% to all resists except stun and hitting for about 190 ish (cant remember the special attacks.
Have to say that when I first became a CH this pet rocked big time, I was able to have him tank all sorts of stuff, however when I logged on after last patch I had to upgrade level / down grade stats :/
I opted for level and he is now L24.
Would be interested to know if they will let a L10 with those stats stay L10 for long.
Multigenerational sampling is there to strain out the bad parts of dna, and it makes it easier to make a large quantity of pets. If you make 5 pets, and sample them all twice then you now have enough dna to make 2 more. Sample those two 2-3 times and look at that... you can make another! Amazing, huh?
I have me two pets similar to the one posted, actually they are better, and one even happens to be level 9. This was not a fluke. It takes about 3 or 4 generations to strain out the unfavorable parts of the dna. When I called these and tamed them I didn't get an invalid message, neither did my friends when they called them.
I have taken to specializing in making high end pets with low CL's. If you are sour that your 1st gen pet can't beat my 4th gen then get used to it. The multi-gen pets are better, and chances are they always will. I read the FAQ's and wrote down the predicted algorithms, I can predict my pet's ham and damageby looking at it's stats.. I have a good handle on the system; it wasn't easy, and there were many failures. That is something that you have to do in order to be good at this profession. In order to succeed you have to find which slots influence which stat and how much they influece them. It's not always as simple as lining up the fort/hardi in the physique slot.
This pet is a mutant, that is a given, but it is not invalid. If it is being called and used even after the pet validation system was put into place (by the way I have never had any of my pets called invalid) then it is quite valid. If the developers happen to decide these pets are too powerful and ban them that's fine. I will experiment using all my options to make uber pets again.
By the way, congrats on your creation. I know what kind of work that takes, and a critical failure anyhwere within those 4 generations can cripple your creature.

No the level 14 I listed above is fine. I have 3 of them fully grown in my datapad. I am only a 0-0-0-2 CH right now and these work great for me.
Something that alot of people are missing is that the more resistances a pet has the higher the level and I think some are weighted more then others. Another pet I made with Kinetic 52% and Energy 53% the rest vuln with about 1k more Health. Action and Mind are about the same. Attack speed, To hit, and specials are about the same too. But it is a Level 22.

ok look. im going to make this VERY simple. with all the hubbub about generational pets, most likely the ability to sample pets in your inventory willbe nerfed next.
and once that is gone, what will you go with your "missed CL mark" pets? destroy them. architects dont grind up a harvestor that didnt make it to ER10, use it again in another harvestor and suddenly get an ER17 harvestor that takes no power or maintenence. why should a BE be able to do the same thing? thats what it boils down to.
you are using an option that produces results much different than the intended results. it doesnt matter that theyre better. if that was all this was about, making a better pet, wed all be doing this. but were not. youre very seriously breaking the rules. not just bending them, breaking them.
its pretty frickin simple folks. if you can make something through generational manipulation that you cant make with regular DNA samples, then something is wrong. go out and sample REAL animals and get a pet like the ones youre boasting, and ill listen. until then, in my opinion you are exploiting the system (thats what an exploit is for those of you who get easily offended, its allowed by the system, but youre EXPLOITING that system).
unfortunately for you, its not just my opinion, its not just tal's opinion, its not just every BE who busts their ass trying to sell legit pets to customers who only know your exploited ones, its the devs opinion. and in the end, its they who will nerf the hell out of your pets, and them who youll be submitting bug reports to because you think its unfair.
I'm not going to stoop to the level of calling this ignorant or just plain lazy but I will say this person has no clue how bio-engineering works obviously. The part that cracks me up the most is this was posted by a master.
First off, BE is not a cookie cutter profession like architect is. When I can take a ton of DNA, plop it in a factory,go away for a few hours then come back to 50 templates waiting for me, you can compare what I do to an architect. Until then this arguement is pointless.
Multi-generational animals are the only way to get the specials and resists required to fill special orders. If there is no "natural" combination of DNA to make the animal you can bet good money I'll be resampling to create my own combination.
The word of the week is exploit. I've seen it applied to almost everything lately. "unfortunately for you, its not just my opinion, its not just tal's opinion, its not just every BE who busts their ass trying to sell legit pets to customers who only know your exploited ones, its the devs opinion." Show me where the devs have called re-sampling animals an exploit. We've been able to take DNA from pet deeds since the very beginning. If the devs thought that was an exploit you'd think the ability to resample would have been removed long ago.
The dev notes when the BE clone system came out said we'd be able to make animals not normally found in the wild. It never said we'd be able to do that using only first generation DNA. Either learn how the system works or surrender the skill and spare the rest of us. Go cry nerf somewhere else.

A little sanity check. Tal-N posts valuable information regarding his finding but...he didn't develop this profession. Contrary to popular belief he doesn't know all. No one does. That's probably the biggest issue. He has an IDEA of how he believes the system should work. If you don't subscribe to that idea you're an exploiter or a disgrace. I'd ask for a bit of caution when calling people names.
There is nothing wrong with posting how you THINK the system works but saying people are breaking the rules by making uber animals is a bit out of line. I agree the animals being discussed here probably won't be valid but that'sthe whole point....PROBABLY won't be valid. We have no clue what will and won't be valid because our dev has no clue. Otherwise the system would be working properly and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
I will comment on the creature handler issue as well. If a BE can make a CL10 animal with high HAM what sort of CL15 animal do you think they can make? What about a CL35 animal? The comment that there is no point being a creature handler because of the non-creature handler animals is shortsighted at the very least. I can make scary CL10 animals. I can also make scarier CL15 animals that will tear apart the 10. Is that not a reason to be a creature handler? I've sold CL10 animals to customers who have become creature handlers because of what they saw in my shop. The biggest compliment I get is "gee I wish I was a creature handler so I could use that animal." This is after I sold them a CL10 that utterly rocks.
Instead of pointing fingers and calling each other names I'd recommend a bit of discression. You make your own choice what is right or wrong. It will be a very cold day when I let another player tell me how to play this game. That's a job for the SOE developers.

Ya know. Supposedly CH's were nerfed because of overpowered dabbling. Now that pets can be made that are just as overpowering for novices kinda makes all this rebalancing nerf mean nothing...oh forget it. I've said this many times and just get flamed for it regardless...

Dabbling is part of the game. It would be ridiculous if you couldn't dabble, why give us a dynamic profession system if we have to master every class?
Correct, you're making pets that stand out by any means possible just to make sales with utterly no reguard for the people who are buying them knowing full well what they are getting from you is going to not work once this is patched. Clearly being twice as good as the wild ones isn't enough, but yours are around FOUR times better than the wild equivilents and yet you still don't think this is way out of whack. You're trying to justify making these pets and have utterly no reguard in what your selling to your customers all you are caring about is 'standing out' to make credits. That is why you're a disgrace.
