Ya, exactly. You think some of those BE pets are insane? Who cares? When you're a master CH you can call 3 insane pets, for 3 times the insanity.
Dabbling is part of the game. It would be ridiculous if you couldn't dabble, why give us a dynamic profession system if we have to master every class?
No, you're not understanding.
Supposedly, oneof the main reasons CH pets were nerfed was because of OVERPOWERED dabblers. You know, 3/2/0/0 CH's with Graul Maulers. That was supposedly why pets stats were nerfed. But yet, we are pretty much right back where we started because of the current craftable pets. Hence the slap in the face to not only CH's, but mainly MCH's...
Maybe people were very vociferous about supposedly overpowered dabblers, but I think there is a lot more too the changes than that. I have a MCH and pre-patch, i wouldn't have even considered buying a BE pet. Why should I? At the time the differences weren't great enough to warrant the expense. Now, BE is not only a vaild profession, it's a fun one, and more in line with crafted vs. looted which seems to be the overriding philosophy of the game. Months ago, everyone loved their grand wrix's and GSP's, and moaned when their stats were changed and ceased being viable to use in combat. Well, you know what? They are back...only now a BE has to craft them. So what if a dabbler can get one? You can have three! You can be a one man (and three pet) wrecking crew! Why complain? Maximize the benefit you can get out of the system. Of course there is a point to being a master CH. Maybe the way you acquire pets has changed, but your power certainly hasn't.
As for non-CH pets being overpowered...compared to what? A 7k HAM, 50% kinetic resist pet that does 50 damage is a threat to what exactly? Maybe help a n00b finish worrt missions with less threat of being sent back to the cloning center? You realize that this pet wouldn't do enough damage per second to help hold aggro against anything stronger than a desert eopie. In PVP, one shot from a decent flamethrower or LLC will knock it out of combat.
These pets are meatshields for tanking other low-level critters, nothing more. Maybe you could clear a Huurton pack lair for 4k credits...while spending 1k in pet stims healing it's huge HAM bar back up. Maybe the get scouting XP a little quicker (and please god, harvest the meat!).Why is that such a big deal? They arepretty much probot-equivalent, once you factor in the 'effective' HAM of the 'bot. I seriously have no idea why this is an issue at all, with anyone.

Now I'm using "exploit" in perhaps a different sense than some of you, with no negative connotations, but that is the whole point of being a BE.BUT, you have to use some common sense. The system is set up so that CL 10 is CL 10 is CL 10, and although we all grumble about not knowing exactly what's "legal" and what's not, we all have an intuitive idea of what CL 10 is.CL 10 in the wild is 1k of ham, no resists, 100 damage, pretty low attack speed and to-hit, and if you're lucky 1 crummy special. The power that we have as BE's is not to squeeze a CL 30 pet into a CL 10 body, it's that we can customize a CL 10 pet, make intelligent tradeoffs, and give a customer a pet that is optomized for a certain task. We can raise HAM by lowering damage. Get more health by lowering mind. Get more damage by lowering the resists, or raise the resists, by lowering the attack and to-hit stats.I think a lot of BE's have this idea that somewhere out there is a "magic formula" which when discovered allows you to make a pet that is far better in every conceivable way then every other pet at the same level. There are in fact such formulas, they are called bugs, lol.To the original poster: you worked your ass off, you made a great pet, you exploited the system (I mean that in a good way) for all it is worth, nobody questions your ethics, but the result is, definitely, certainly, without a doubt, a buggged pet.
5 Stars for you because you used the word exploit whil understanding its definition.
For all of you who dont, here:
Noun:
1. deed, feat, effort, exploit -- (a notable achievement; "he performed a great deed"; "the book was her finest effort")
Verb:
1. exploit, work -- (use or manipulate to one's advantage; "He exploit the new taxation system"; "She knows how to work the system"; "he works his parents for sympathy")
2. exploit, tap -- (draw from; make good use of; "we must exploit the resources we are given wisely")
3. overwork, exploit -- (work excessively hard; "he is exploiting the students")
If these pets are going to be considered bugged, then the CL system needs to be revamped to take into account all of the final stats of the pet. It obiously doesn't, or we wouldn't have seen the initial batch of superpets to begin with. Barring that there will always be a way to work the system in our favor.
The whole "how do you think the CHs feel" argument is a joke. As was stated by others, I can make a CH pet that will destroy my Non-CH pets.. and masters get 3 of them. My CH alt can field over 30K in health and hit for over 800 points of damage with 5 different special useing 3 CL23 pets. And a Novice CH can use pets with the same ham/kineticas a non-ch but hit for just over twice as hard.
And yes, dabblers were cut because of all the complaints about the Graul Mauler issue. Which is why we have minimum CL rated skins. CHs cant run around with 2 Kimo. They can however have their graul maulers back if they like. I believe thats a CL30 skin. How many want them though? They are too slow. So the nerf on CHs worked in respect to the fact that the nerf herders have quieted down somewhat. And the CHs keep the power they wanted.. just in much smaller packages.

7600 HAMS
20% Kinetic
30% Energy
35% Cold
35% Electric
50% Acid
10% Restraint
220-230 damage
If you say higher than CL25 your an IDIOT.. this is a Borgle Life Sapper. A WILD borgle life sapper.
Now, How much of a CL hit do we take trading in the 30% Energy for 30% more kinetic and take a vuln in enery and say Acid? Care to guess?? NONE!
CL25
9000 HAMS
50% Kinetic
30% Blast
30% Cold
30% Electric
10% Rstraint
240-250 damage
Oh look.. we even got a ham and damage boost out of it. This is a WILD Boar wolf.
So what do we get for it if we breed in vuls to the blast, cold, elec, Restraintt aking out a total of 100% in resists? And on top of THAT cutting damage to 1/5, losing 1/3 of action and 2/3 of mind?
I'd say we are giving up alot more than 2/3s of these animals in exchange for 2/3s the CL. Do the exact counterparts to our clones exist in the wild? No. But neither does a Wild critter with 7% Kinetic. If I make one of these are you going to cry foul? Because it doesnt have a wild counterpart, does not make it invalid. So no.. our pets are not 4x better. Our pets are even. Ours can take damage, the wild can give damage. Thank you.. you can shut up now.
