Thread: Am I the only one?

And your analogy of learning marksman and self defence then not using them is flawed.
How so? You do realize Jedi is a PvP profession, yes? You also realize that its a forced PvP profession. The Devs even had a disclaimer/warning about it.
Just pointing at something and saying "Thats flawed" doesn't make it so.

I was referring to your point about people taking up a real life profession then living life in solitude. Don't some chinese or tibetan cultures do just that? Where people learn how to use deadly combatant skills and then never rely on them or only when called to do so? Or a marksman for example learns how to shoot but the doesn't run round times square shooting everyone shouting "pwned" at the top of his voice.
My original post was to find out what other people thought about me getting revenge killed when I drop my get out of PvP card and as I know some Bounty Hunters are touchy people whether me playing like this on the way to completing my template would put my at the top of their most wanted list.
What ideally I hope will happen is for the BH's on my server to get to know who I am and respect that if they do come after me they make it a RP event. And not continually hunt me because I used FD one too many times in the past.

I think Flippa that only the BH who hunted you could honestly answer this question. Some BH take the hunt as a challenge, have fun with it, and just enjoy the profession....
Others take thier profession as a way to hurt others...and hate those who "ruin" thier fun. I cant answer for the BH, I dont personally play one, though I did have the profession at one time (not for hunting jedi). I think you will find most BH wont take out a mission on a knight level jedi.....so that will deter most right there...the ones looking for the quick way to hurt someone only look for easy kills.
I dont personally advocate the use of FD as a jedi, as a pre-9 jedi Im a firm believer that the old system of having only jedi skills was better than the current one....but thats just me.
Unfortunatly I never had the pleasure to play back then although I would have loved to. I had a mixed template and smuggler was part of it. I was never a Master Smuggler I used to roleplay a guy who had ideas above his station and thought he was a big shot in the underworld and feign death was he last ditch get out clause. Now having my main as my Jedi forced upon me I will be keeping this skill as long as I can because I don't want to have to work off negative XP.
Like I said this is not my fault that I'm on the terminals. It's just an unfortunate set of circumstances that led to it but now I'm on I cannot seem to get off them as I'm hunted daily and I don't see why I should not play my character for 3 weeks to remove myself. I pay the same as everyone else.

Jedi, unfortunately, don't have any say in the matter of forced PvP once they hit the BH terminals. None of you guys are getting it, so I'll say it again. The Jedi profession/class is a forced PvP one. The only option out of forced PvP is to never make the BH terminals, which means you are essentially a non-factor within the game, since you can only kill animals by yourself.
Try and comprehend this fact. Its not an option once you're on terminals. Even if you Force Run from every encounter, the moment a BH lands the first attack, you have entered into forced PvP, albeit even if the encounter only lasts for 20 seconds.
Stop living in denial lol.

This guy is wright. Once you hit padwan you are forced into pvp. I'm master ls/master enahnce/ 4/0/0/4 healing and ejoying pvping with my fencer/doc way more than my jedi. IMO jedi stink for pvp, all they really can do well is run.

Still, your implication is that anyone who makes padawan and doesn't want to PvP wasted their time. Is that not what you meant?

I never said one should not roleplay their Jedi, or one must PvP at all times. I'm just asking why someone would want to go through the hard work, grinding their Jedi to Knight, only to PvE in the end. I mean, if you want PvE, stick to any of the combat professions lol. This is just my opinion of course. I see this generation of new and up and coming Jedi try to avoid PvP more and more. And ask for things like the ability to hunt with their friends without generating visibility so they can be immune to being hunted. More and more Carebear Jedi are popping up, trying to play in a 'soft' way. Well, the Jedi profession is not a 'soft' one. Its 'hard' and often times it gets dangerous/bloody.

Even before I became Jedi I didn't enjoy pvp I enjoyed spending time with my m8s in a Star Wars environment. Now when I decided to go for a Jedi I didn't even know what it entailed I had rarely seen a Jedi on my server in fact it was about 3months before playing that I even saw my first. All I want to do is play the game with my m8's and tbh I've tried grinding alone, yes it does suck but I thought it's worth it in the long run. Now i'm on the terms I can't seem to get off even though I hide as much as I can because I'm hunted daily I'm always going to be on. Fair enough I don't care. Hopefully they will get bored with Black Barring me and leave me alone, who knows? ![]()
Just because I have no interest in PvP doesn't make me a carebare, like I said if a BH comes in a roleplay manner then sure no problems but as it stands they're not and they're trying to claim a 38K bounty, to me that doesn't sound like the thrill of the hunt or doing it for money cos as it stands an NPC mark will give a better fight than me. It just sounds like a whole load of hurt dished out by a BHbecause he can.

It is a watse of time either way. I'm a fencer/doc and I have killed every type of jedi there is. I'm a jedi knight too, master ls/master enhance/4/0/0/4 force healing. It is a watse of time/life grinding jedi. I realized this when I wnet out pvping and nearly got owned by a tkm. *thank you force run 3*
Yup. I wish I never wasted my time/life either.
