Here is PROJECT for someone to figure out real quick.....

Probot-

900 ham MED ARMOR AND 40% RESISTS to all

Creature-

8000 ham NO ARMOR and 40 % RESISTS to all

Asssuming both of these are lvl 10 "items" what should the ham on the creature be?

900 HAM, Medium Armor, 40% Resists for an effective HAM should be 6000HAM by this math (unless I'm doing it incorrectly):

Damage to Kill = Effective HAM = eHAM

(eHAM) (.5) (.5) (.6) = 900
That is to say, 50% reduction for noarmor to lightarmor, 50% reduction for lightarmor to mediumarmor, 40% reduction for the 40% resist (that means the real damage is 0.6).

eHAM = 900 / [(.5)(.5)(.6)] = 900 / 0.15 = 6000 HAM

Now, that is the HAM with no resists or armor whatsoever. So any Armor or Resists would lower that number.

Ya know - it occurs to me, a NON-CH person, that maybe you aren't doing the first thing you NEED to, when doing 'business.' You need to know your customer's needs.

If you foolish BE's are going to sit here and tell me that as a NON-CH I should only be able to use a pet that is useful only as a footstool, I'ma shoot you. Plain and simple.

I'm a full on crafter. Master Arch, Master Artisan, and I make cities for you people. Cities you live in, experiment in the houses I built, on that stations I crafted, with the tools I made... Am I the ONLY person reading this and thinking that you'd prefer to 'limit' what you'll do for me? AND in the same breath tell me you want a factory with 50% more storage, or a harvester that has 'ungodly' extraction rates?

I do the BEST I can for my customers, making the highest quality everything that I can. How can you even consider doing less for me?

If there's a way to make a better mousetrap, you should do it. If it's an oversight on the part of the programmers, oh well. I dont see you fools complaining about 43 functional rated crafting stations, even though they aren't normally possible. Nor do you see me complaining about them.

You need to stop trolling the boards, and get your arse out there and sample more DNA to make more pets for people like me who will let you EARN the money you use to pay maintenance on your blasted houses.

Dont think you're elitist - Let those who 'are' live as such.

Thanks SUMO for the effective HAM for a Probot.

Here is what it boils down to folks.

Probot-

900 ham MED ARMOR 40% Resists = 6000 effective base ham ( 6.6 times base ham)

8000 ham NO ARMOR 40% Resists = 16000 effective base ham (2 times base ham)

Under the current system BE are able to produce a more effective non-ch creature vs an adv probot.

With that BEING SAID...the developers have mentioned that the Droid Engineer profession will be getting fixed and combat droids will be stronger in the future.

To balance the current lvl 10 BE creature pet with a lvl 10 DE probot all that needs to be done is this-

New Probot -

2400 ham MED ARMOR 40% Resists = 8000 ham NO ARMOR 40% resists creature

3150 ham MED ARMOR 40% Resists = 10.4 ham NO ARMOR 40% resist creature

See what I am getting at here ?

The BE code currently in the game is what was originally intended for players to control to assist in combat.

Perhaps the easiest solution is to UN-NERF the probot instead of watering down the BE creatures.

The reason you dont see Probots being used often is because they are not effective in combat.

Lowering non-ch pets to match the lvl of current in game Probots, only means crafters will have no defense.

Hopefully, effort can be put into balacing non-ch pets with Probots by making Probots effective , not by making BE non-ch pets useless.

im not a BE or anything, a friend just pointed me to this post.

think abit.

a looted scout blaster should be better then the one that a master armorsmith make?hell no, the weaponsmith should make it 10 times better.

now lets put it in this way, a tamed[looted...] gurreck should be better then one that a BE[weaponsmith] makes?no.

hmm level 2 spider with insane states, speaking from a near master CH, god **edit** that pet, why should someone that spent zero skill points have a pet thats better then everything that i have?i spent time training in scout, i worked my ass to level CH, to get my 60 kinetic jax just to see a dude that didnt spent a point geting a pet better then mine..no.

as far that i think none CHs shouldnt be able to use a chuba.

Very well put Ramhorn - I almost want to delete my post and copy yours into it.

Non-CH's have to have an alternative to the nerfed probot / combat droids. BE Creatures should be defined by the expertise of the creator, and the fact that they are much more loosely assembled than other crafted items, lends to their abilty to be unique to the engineers.

Revel in this freedom, rather than stand there bewildered at the sheer volume you should learn.

BTW - if you're stuck in the bewildered thing... change professions You'll be less stressed

Thanks Djected

The whole situation reminds me of the scene in Shawshank Redemption when the long time prisoner finally gets his freedom.

He cant cope with the changes and feel like he can be a part of the outside world and longs for imprisionment.

BE have been the prisoner for 6 months now. Unable to creating anything with value except pet-stims and house decorations.

Enjoy your new found freedom, make the best pets and sell them for credits.

The great non-ch pet is nothing more than the pre-nerf probot.

Go to the DE forums and look what they are all dreaming for and demanding....

The ability to make usefull probots once more.

You can rationalizeall you want, I just see it as very hard to believe the devs would nerf creatures so hard across the board only to let us make pets stronger than any creature for it's level has ever been in the game's history.

The dna isn't bugged, the crafting algorithm is, and I would bet a hundred bucks the devs didn't intend a cl10, 10k HAM 48% to all pet which is easy to make as things are. Whether it should be that way or not doesn't matter, I doubt that it was intended or will stay.

Thats a CL10 creature stronger by double than a 34CL creature in the wild, There's othing wrong with a BE creature being twice as strong as a wild creature, but not also at a third of it's level at the same time.

If all the creatures hadn't taken a huge nerf it migh be more in line.

Take a cl34 mountain squill, ar1, 40% to all at CL 34.Post nerfit's 30% to all buta couple of resistances and9700 ham at CL34 which is where the devs wanted a CL 34.

A 10k ham 48% to all CL34 would beat it nicely, but we have that at CL10 which is bit over the top.

That CL10 non CH pet is better than a graul mauler now in the scheme of creatures post nerf. It has more HAM and better resists overall.

If you don't think it'll get nerfedI want some of what your smoking

You know - all the pets that are made now, if nerfed, will likely suffer the same fate as the old probot, and I for one, still have my 3k ham 127-135 damage tin buddy. So, if the same for follows, we may see a bunch of pre-nerf pets being lawded as godly and sacred beasts.

I see all this big talk about kahmurrith dna, and while Ive been having some "dubious" results, I havent been getting anything anywhere near whats being said.

Seeing is believing. Right now Im seeing jack squat. Im hearing a lot of talk, but talk is cheap.

I hear kahmurrith dna makes ungodly critters

I see kahumurrith dna making strong critters, but by no means godly (as per the AR1, High kinetic claims).

I see fairly Uber Pets being made with dna other than kahamurrith (CL10-20 with AR1, 30-40Kin).

Give me an exact formula and when I reproduce it, ill **edit**. Talks cheap

The best "uber" pet I've made with nocious kam DNA is CL8-10 48% resists gurrcats. It's pitifully easy to do, even for a novice BE.

I do have a CL8 spat mountwith 8k HAM 45% resists to all but stun, dizzy and strong poison specialsI actually use, at least till they nerf it.

Not ungodly pets, just ungodly for CL 8-10, considering they have the stats of a CL34-36 wild creature. The spat tanks just fine on endor and dath, seems bit overpowered for a CL8.

Any time I go for armor the CL goes over 10, and then it's not quite so "uber", and more in line with it's proper CL.

Not fooling with it anymore, I'm trying to take what I leanred and make my perfect CL35 pair of pets.
