FAQ

4. How to use Guild Titles

Guild titles do not have any direct impact on the abilities of your members. Some guild leaders use them for role-play purposes, some leaders use them to reward their members, others use them like military ranks. Whatever your use for guild titles, there are a few important points to know about them.

A. You can view anyone's guild title by targeting someone, anyone, and typing /guildstatus.

B. The character name filter will keep you from using many common titles, like "officer" as a guild title. It was decided early on that characters should not have names like Officer, Darth Vader, or Pistoleer. Unfortunately, guild titles and character names use this same filter. For now, guild leaders can work around this by using hyphens, underscores, abbreviations and getting creative.

I have asked this in my guild forums, mant stickies from thses forums were posted as a reply but I have yet to really get the answers I am looking for.

I don't quite understand what I am buying when getting a ship and components.

When buying the blue prints for a ship can someone explain the mass and the other stat that are listed and what theya mean?

When buying shields and armor and such I see "Armor 178 / 234" or "hit points 75 / 120" Sometimes I see "0 / 400" and I have no idea what these numbers are telling me. Can someone explain?

What exactly does the capacitor affect?

I am sure I have more questions than this, but I am not in game at the moment. If I think of any more I will post. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

The mass is the total space available for components to be loaded, each item has a mass rating and when you load up the ship on the management screen you can only take off if the total of components is less than the available. A similar situation occurs for energy, Reactors produce energy and everything else (except armour) takes energy.

Capacitors are required for weapons, the capacitor key stats are the amount of charge and the recharge rate, if your recharge rate can be near to the weapon use rate then you'll be able to keep firing almost constantly, if not you may only be able to do intense bursts, but then sit for 20sec for the capacitor to recharge.

I just explained armor and HPs <a href=http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=profshipwright&message.id=6870>here</a>

a value of 178/234 means, that the armor is currently at 178, while the max value is 234, meaning its damaged.

If you repair it you'll get some decay (depending on the damage) so i assume you'll have around 220 once you repaired.

Same for hitpoints.

With shields its different, if the "Shield Strenght" is 0 / 400, then this means that the shield can take 400 Damage points total, but is not charged right now. If you install it in your ship then your shields are empty once you launch the first time. If you would get hit now, it would go directy into your ships armor.

Just wait for a minute and let the shields charge till the blue circle on the radar is complete, then the shields have full strength.

Thanks for the replies.

Is there a difference in getting repairs from the space station and using a repair tool on the ground? (I havent tried to use the repair tool on the ground, but I see from the reticule menu that there is an option to repair if I owned a tool.)

yes you would be speed capped (only need +3 sea to do so)

and the scythe is a better weapon cause the rancor sword will have a low min damage.

can u speed cap urself if:

Mswords - 75

Mbraler - 5

Stim for 5 minutes - 10

fs tree - 12

without tapes...

and ive also noticed that rancor two handed swords are almost as good as scythe's given good loot but theyre 1/10th of a scythe's price..so what drives the price of a scythe up?

yes ur speed capped with that. all u need is about 96 so ur well over with that.

Hi there .. I just got "Glowie " .While I wait for the old man , i am wondering if I am even capable of doing some of these quests yet ..

Here is what I am so far

Master Marksmen

Pistoleer 0 1 1 0

i am qualified for Novice Bounty Hunter ( haven't trained it yet )

Brawler 2 0 0 0

scout 4 4 2 4

i do have some healing as well ...Just wondering what I should be working on so I can complete some of these quests

Also I was wondering ...when you complete a quest and get unlocked . Do you then trade in some of your exp for some Force S . exp to then buy the skill ?

Also if I exchange my skills for example ..i exchange my marksmen skill .won't I then lose all my weapons and skills that go with it ?

Sorry for this , as I am still new to the game ,and don't really know many people yet ..but it seems kind of confusing .
