Hi De's, I've only recently rejoined SWg. I've been reading your forums but the droid updates are still abit foggy to me, so before I buy I thought I'd see if i could get some advice.

Combat droids, so many modules, what would a top of the line one have in it. also the harvest droids.

Is there a way to buy a droid for display in my home. unlike creatures, droids come in deeds, is there a way around this to simply have a few sitting in the house.

Thanks

Harvest and combat droid modules stack, so the more modules you can fit in, the higher level that droid has in those abilities. The R3 Advanced model holds the most modules (6) so it would probably have the best rating. Although, the Probot gets a bonus to combat when combat modules are put in it, so a nice Probot might actually do more damage (though it has less HAM).

Instead of loading upa droid with combat modules, it might also be a good idea to make a droid with just 1 combat module, and the rest auto-repair modules. This droid would do minimal damage, but it would be a great tank since it could heal itself. Auto-repair uses up batteries like mad, though.

As for the droid in your home question, they fixed droid deeds so that they look like the droid now (just like creatures). You could also consider just making a droid chassis to display in your house, since it would look like the droid but not actually do anything besides twitch a little here and there. Not all droid types have chassis, though. But if the droid you want to decorate with has no chassis, you can just drop a droid deed and it'll look like the droid.

The nice thing too, about using the droid chassis, is that you can actually rename them! Unlike the deed for a protocol droid, or LE repair droid, which will always have that name (until they fix it??). Just remember when your crafting to put the name that you want it to be before you "create object" and viola! A beautiful home furnishing (ie doorstopper) heheh

Hmm... after thinking about this, you can probably name the deed itself whatever you want, and that would display in your home, woudlnt it? of course, that would cost more money/time/resources than just a chassis....

Well, check the FAQ

But in short, kill anything for combat XP, doesn't really matter.

AS for SL XP, just lead a group and go kill some stuff.. As long as you're leader, your SL XP = Combat XP (for the group within range) * (Number of people in the group), roughly.

Also, do you recommend wearing armor as a SL? If so, what kind?

That's all up to you.. the HAM costs on our specials is really high (worse that anything you can imagine ), so if you wear armor then you'll have to be buffed, no doubt about it.

When does a merchant get to use people vendors? Also when can we use barker droids? Thanks in advance!

NPC vendors are gained at Novice Merchant. Though with the Hireing tree we get more choice in what type of NPC's (choose race) and even get to dress them as we wish.
We can use the barker module of droids at Advertisement 4.
