Thread: Grinding tip
sorry bout that.. uhm... i just tested this
its 100 for the make, 105 for the practice, 150 uxp for a chef using it to make, and 50 for a chef using it for practice.. that explains it.
again i appologize.
Took my macro with the /selectDraftSchematic 32 line and replaced that with /choose where
/alias choose /sel 32
I ran the macro. It consumed materials. I got zero xp. I took out the /choose statements and put back in /sel 32 and it works fine yielding normal xp. I am not sure how well aliases work inside macros.
For nutrient grinding, its only difficulty 15 so you can do this while you are sampling somthing in the field, at shuttle ports, whereever. By going off a station, you immediately lose the experiment option and the number of schematics is reduced.
for the alias thing... im assuming you've made sure it said "alias set"... and then ran it..
but you may have gotten 0 xp because of crit fails.. so try it a few times before..
i use alias' a lot in my macros for grinding (not anymore, i hit MBE grats to me)
as for the nutrients.. uhm.. yes.. the kit you use and whether you're near a station will affect the schematics.. and if you ARE near a station, you may have to adjust the macro commands to account for that extra window...
but i dont like running the macro in town since a lot of people run by me with a droid with the station module and all of a sudden, it gets all fuddled.. and i have to either let it run till the guy leaves, not adding stuff to the bearded jax template heh... or i can dump it and wait for them to leave...
its a lot easier to craft in a house away from the station (i have a 3 room house.. the rooms away from the station get perfect station access anywhere.. while the room WITH the station.. i need to be standing rght next to it.. why this happens i dont know... but either way.. i just do it outside on my doorstep)...
a note on the chef thing... i needed the last box of engineering to get to master.. and i found a couple of chefs.. and had them grind for my uxp.. not practice (practice cuts the xp from 150 to 50)... and destroy.. and then we passed a bag back and forth (didnt want to risk loading 50 micronutrients by hand and he coughs and the trade is cancelled.. heh)... xp came a lot faster... after i handed him the last bag, i ran to town and right when i got to the trainer, i qualified. thanks to okin and jazzy of bria for that last boost. i suggest you make a chef friend if you havn't already.. =P
the alias certainly was set. With the crafting stage open, i could type /choose and it would move to the right schematic. This is the way I tested it. I went through 5 stages 2x and my xp had not budged. Ill try again tonight and see whats going on. I certainly would love to use this alias trick as it is very clever and worth it. When I was executing the macro, the micronutrient thing came up and I filled the boxes with materials, but it just wouldnt yield xp. Maybe I got an extra semicolon or something.
Guys i have a problem that is the same mentioned by another guy before me.
I run the macro
/ui action bla bla bla; /pause 1 ;
/sel 040; /pause 10;
/nextCraftingStage; /nextCraftingStage; /createPrototype practice no item; /createPrototype practice no item;
After i put all the items in the slot (after i waited 10 seconds of the pause) i get two messages (crafting session ended). Can anyone tell me how is possible to avoid it? I'm also sure that i do not get xp points when i get that message. It is really strange beacuse i'm sure the sintax is correct. Can u pls help me? I really want to gain xp fast in order to master BE ^__^.
Thanks for help
Thanks for the really prompt reply ^_^
I will try tomorrow to be more concentrated and see if those xp will come or not. Do you think the problem can be my droid instead of the crafting station?
dont craft anywhere near a droid with the station module or the station itself...
that requires a different macro /command list due to the extra window..
im going to assume that..
it goes next, next, hits the would you like to experiment screen, then says createp createp.. thats probably your problem... cause you're closing it before its ready to close.. so add a 3rd nextcrafting state thing. see how that works
Thanks man. You saved my life and the life of my wrists ^__^
Cheers
I having a problem with this marco, I've read talk about people needing longer /pause's to put the ingredients in, but when I put an item in the toolbar slot, use the /ui action toolbarslot blah blah blah marco that was given here to no avail it will not work, i've wrote it all down, tried them seperately, and I don't get anything but the end message, not even a chance to put in ingredients, perhaps I'm doing something wrong here, I've read that the marco is case sensitive
/ui action toolbarslot00 (00 standing for the slot number its in)
/select draftschematic(space???)40
/pause 5
/nextcraftingstage
/nextcraftingstage
/creatreprototype practice no item
/creatreprototype practice no item (when I do this one by itsself I get the messege that the crafting session is complete) whats wrong here?!
Hi TechnicalAssociate
/ui bla bla bla (correct)
/selectDraftSchematic 40; (Remeber that is case sensitive. The space is correct)
/pause 5; (REMEBER semi colomn ; after each instruction)
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage; (This one only if you are near a crafting station otherwise remove it)
/createPrototype practice no item; (repeat it twice)
This is the one i have and it works. Thanks to Terhilon that helped me and to all those guys that wrote before me.
yeah.. to reinforce brav's..
nextCraftingStage (case sensitive)
and be sure to put the semicolin(
after the /sel
cause if its /sel 32 /pause 5; /nextblahblah
itll skip the /pause 5
double check the exact macro and post here if things are still messed up
and uhm.. no, people still need to have the /pause to enter the ingredients..
if i got to MBE with this macro clicking away and there's a way to insert ingredients without taking 4-5 seconds to do so.... /slaps self repeatedly until unconscious
Much appriciated for the responce, but I later that night figured it out when I decided to afk marco novice Entertainer lol, I was standing in the Bestine Cantina and someone offered to email me some info on the florish's and a couple marco's, well seeing as how I knew it was case sensitive I over looked the email like 3 times till I finally figured it out, once I finally got that marco right I decided to move on to the crafting marco, well after about 15 minutes of perfecting it (while the music marco was going) I decided to try it out....and sure enough I had 6 adv food and chem stations going all at once, I'm talking super fast crafting xp, finally something that takes the boredom out of the crafting, I now do this even while I'm headed someone using the /follow command and just craft about, from bestine to wayfar I get about 10k crafting exp just steady grinding my way to the top, much appriciated!

well to reinerate my previous post, I now run 8! food and Chem at once, with the /pause change from a 5 to a 3 it gives me just barely enough time to put the resources in, and I had to make a second macro to do 8 at once, instead of the loop I put at the end of my first macro I put it to /ui action toolbarSlot##, having the ## = number that coresponds to the next macro which ends with the loop of /ui action toolbarSlot## to go back to the first macro and now I successfully demolish any meat I get at any time, I dusted out 5k meat in a matter of 15 minutes tops yesterday, VERY VERY usefull grinding tip, in fact its almost worse then a tip hehe, its like a spoiler, but in a good way, I don't think after knowing about this macro that I could go back to the 30-50-80k per skill grinding by hand!
