First, hi! Welcome to the CH boards.

As for the thread topic, IMO Seiryuu expressed our concerns very concisely.

How to fix the problem has already been detailed in Vert's lists and Pluto's Corral idea, as you know. Three other very important (to me at least) changes I advocate are making all creatures under level 70 tameable (already been discussed in a huge petition), pushing our max CL up to 100 (not so we can tame level 80 and 90 pets, but so we can have two pets out and actually kill things), and making pets heal much faster while stored (sowe can use them more often).Personally, those suggestions, bug fixes and enhancements areall I want for the CH profession, and therefore, for myself.

Hi tiggs, Thanks for takeing the time to listen to our consernes.

For me its no so much the buff bots, Cold and lifeless will never beat a friendly chat and a /smile but it is depresing to to look around and see afk after afk after afk.

I try not to let the broken dances hinder me by adding coments in to explain why as a master dancer I fell, or why as a master at music I hit that flat note.

But what has me upset at the moment is haveing to give up one of the profesions I truly enjoy. Sure i can drag my friends along from theam park to theam park, but im not going to put them through that as I dont think it would be fair of me to ask.

There are ways around most problems. but my /dazzle or /distract just cant stand up to a blaster.

Is there no room on the path of the force for us non combat classes?

My crying aside, I would enjoy reading what the Dev's see as our role in this crazy world please.

Are weonly a side note for the ones involved in the GCW, a little break from the fight? Or do we have our own little place in the grander scheme of things.

Thanks.

Tiggs I thought would bring this to your attention as it is a recent content bug discovered in the trade outpost cantina on dathomir. Please pass this on to other developers

______________________________________________________________________________

I was chilling in the cantina at trade outpost dath healing my mind when I happened to mistaking click on a npc inside. The npc named Wallaw Loowobbli offered a mission to save a Bull Rancor from cruel hunters trying to turn them into cybernetic juggernauts.

Here are screenshots of this bugged npc mission

Clicking on the npc in the cantina:

Getting more info about the quest from npc

Clicked on the next post explaining how I am to rescue the Bull Rancor

Then clicked on the part of how challenging the hunters would be in combat. I really wasn't worried about this part as was going as Jedi Master CH.

Here is the Bull Rancor I found at the mission wp

As you can see the last link he is not a Bull Rancor and you can see from examine that it is listed as a Bull Rancor. I did not bother finishing the mission as did not want to bother trying to escort a trandoshin Bull Rancor back to the dath trade outpost.

Vert if you read this please pass this onto devs and inquire why this mission does not have a Bull Rancor. To those of us that are fanatical Bull Rancor hunters this mission would be a change of pace for us and would be enjoyable.

At our next BEAST meeting will announce this bugged mission in our discussion about bugs in the game.

Oh Tiggs, We want our FS skills fixed.

The fact that RANGED SPEEDand RANGED ACCURACY skillsdon't work for commandos weapons isunacceptable. This should be a hot fix AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

What I saying is stop hotfixing the jedi and fix the broken FS skills. Throw the ordinary characters a bone. They spent 75 million weapons xp for these trees. They deserve to have them working.

I keep trying to think of positive things to say in this thread. Even if it is to help get to know our problems, but with all the slights lately, I just can't keep positive about anything in this profession. Personally Tiggs, you picked a bad time to start your thread in this forums.

A lot of people have said things much better than I could about what is wrong with our profession. All I can do is reiterate that the AFK problem has to go. I don't care what you guys do to fix, but it has to go. I don't want to hear that it's going after JTL either. That will be too late. The last thing this profession needs is for the expansion, which is being marketed to bring new people into the game, to be launched with AFKing still acceptable. If AFKing is still around when JTL is launched, every new player will be subjected to AFK enterntainers andbuffbots. Potential new entertianers will see that as an example and think that is the acceptable way to play this profession. The acceptance of being AFK will only become stronger in the playerbase and further desecrate these professions.

If coding is too much of a hassle to do before then, have a meeting with all the other red names and make the decision to just make AFK play a suspendable/bannable offense. As someone else suggested, that would solve the problem really quickly.

However, given the state of the entertainer quests that were just published, I somehow doubt that anyone will actually do anything about us before then.

imho the most important thing is getting rid of the afk people in our cantinas

after you have done this you could also fix the dances, make the 15 gap disapper, revamp buffs and so on ...

Tiggs, the dance for our new Quest is broken - the viewer doesn't see it properly.

Do us all a favor and go look at the thread regarding the Entertainer Quest in the In Testing section. Someone really should, it's only been out there for a month. You will note that FOREVER ago, people were telling you guys what was wrong with the dance. Nothing was done, it went Live broken. We told you FOREVER ago (and our Correspondents tried to communicate) that the xp requirement for the dance and song is ludricrous, and completely unfair to our professions. Nothing was done.

We never heard the dance problemswere being worked on. Apparently they WEREN'T getting worked on.

Our Correspondents weren't communicated with at all regarding the issues discussed with the new Quest.

We were never officially told when to expect our new content, after the last official word (Publish 10.2) came and went. We felt like losers who didn't deserve to get new content, and just totally forgotten about. Good game, folks.

We didn't get our new Quest mentioned in the update notes, so stupidly, all that work you put into it won't get used since Dancers and Musicians all over the galaxies have no idea the Quest is even Live - it's called Update Notes. We deserve to be on them. Who the heck actually wanders through NPC theaters, anyways? Nothing's ever been in there before besides trainers. Heck, those don't even show up on the map!

In short, thanks for the Quest (pffft....I guess), but why did you bother since you didn't even inform your Entertainer customers that the Quest is Live, and why didn't you do anything to fix the dance?

I have a message I'd like you to relay to the Dev team.4 words. Shouldn't take you long. I'm sure others will side with me in this communication:

YOU LET US DOWN.

Just a footnote to my earlier post. If I go into a cave like the squill cave or the geo cave, if my pet gets killed, lost or accidentally stores, I am in deep trouble. Because for some reason it says I cannot call a pet there. What give with this absurd rule? Any other profession can change there weapon in there, why have CH's been singled out for exclusion?

You didn't want people calling pets inside a cantina, I can understand that, but they can still call them outside and drag in them inside so what have you achieved with that silly rule. Just handicapping the profession without accomplishing anything.

There'sa lot here and I've opted out of reading most of it.

To me the biggest issue facing dancers is usefulness. There is a distinct lack of live entertainers in the galaxy and I believe that the reason for this is because the benefits do not justify the cost. This is compounded by the fact than an unattended character can perform all of the serviceswe can provide to a group. Dance skills do nothing for me as a fighter and with bots around every corner they don't really enhance the group I'm in.

So, ok, lets assume that dancers really have no buisness taking part in combat related content ( I don't believe this for a second but I'm going to alow the assumption for the sake of this argument). In that case we're going to need some reason to play. The animations we have to look at and social atmosphere of a cantina are pretty much the only content we have. This is a problem because it seems like a majority of the animations are broken and cantinas are no where that anyone wants to be. Those of us with a bit of creativity are able toplanparties and film some really cute movies and basically make our own content but after awhile it all just gets kind of dull.

Now, lets get back out of that frame of mind and admit that the game environment is based on a Galactic Civil War going on. We need some way to be able to participate in that. In my opinion, that is crucial. We don't really contribute anything in the War. Again, perhaps the removal of the unattended characters would be enough to make our functionality worth the skill points invested. It would certainly change the face of pvp on starsider. The roles of Squad Leaders and Entertainers are easily filled by unattended bots making those proffessions a drawback to any live character that would actually wish to play them. It's not needed and only serves to reduce your defensive and offensive abilities.

So there are the problems as I see them. Here are the solutions I would suggest.

1. Make the asthetics pleasing.

-fix the broken base dances

-Get full sets of flourishes for all dances and one transition flourish

-make it so a proper buff can be administered in a reasonable amount of time without encouraging a poor performance

-give us better props

-reduce falls so that a Master might only fall once in a month of non stop play. (If a master falls it should be a /gasp not a /nod)

-group controls for light effects, positioning, and changing dance

2. Give us some functionality that benefits the dance character

- Let us buff our own minds

-State defenses based on our abilities (def to dizzy based on formal flourish 4, entertainer only fire resistant clothes certified somewhere in the tech line, def to KD or posturchangebased on agility [although this might not be realistic when you see how much we fall down all on our own])

-Light effects could be used to apply states such as stunned and blind (although I myself am not particularly fond of the idea of dancers having active skills to be used in combat--I think a few passive abilities are a good idea though).

3. Mobility for battle fatigue healing via entertainer droids, "gypsy" tents, or any other aperatus that would serve the same purpose as medical droids.

4. Take away the ability to provide the services of an entertainer while unattended.

5. Reduce the SP investment. Entertainer healing simply should not be a requirement. Similar to ranged support it would provide a benefit but it really is extraneous to make it a requirement.

Hello Tiggs,

Let me take a moment to thank you for taking the time for this. You wanted to get to know a little us and our take on the game, so I'll start with a little about myself, then I'll tell you a little about how I see my character, and finally a little about what I'd like to see.

I am a building inspector in North Carolina, that means that I must deal with the public day in and day out (kind of like you) that is the reason I try not to post rants (notice I said try). I use the game as a mini vacation, and I generally don't interact with a lot of the characters in the game. I'm also only able to play the game about two hours a session and only two or three times a week.

My character is a master scout, ranger and creature handler, I chose these because that fit well together and work for me as a solo character. I have realized that this character will never be able to participate in the GCW or PvP, as he has no true combat capability, but it works for the way I play. The character has been a CH about a month Longer than he has been a ranger. It appears, however, that I will finish ranger long before I'll be able to finish CH (1,1,1,1 in both now and the ranger XP is almost equal to the scouting XP).

I'd like to see some changes in this profession.
1) Please remove the delay in calling and storing creatures when not in combat.
a. At least in PvE, this only serves to keep the character from going on to the next mission (slowing down XP gain)
2) Please give us more storage for our pets.
a. I had to give up the first tame so that I could get babies that could work the higher-level mobs. If nothing else give room to store creatures for display only (if they were in this display only storage they couldn't fight or be hurt when displayed).
3) Give both the CH and the pet a combat damage bonus if grouped with that pet and both the pet and the CH are actively fighting.
a. This should work for any group (character group, or CH/pet group or a combination) actively hunting together.

I could go on, but these are my pet peeves (pun intended). Most of the other things I would tell you are in the other links that you mentioned as well (I'm sure) as within this thread. Thanks again for letting us take up you time.

Tiggs thanks for asking, and they do mean what they say about appreciating it if you were to respond again here, even a thanks for taking the time to tell me your problems will make us happy. In my opinion the creatures are the core of the game, without them being fixed there is little interaction between players, and little reason to be a CH.

I liked being a CH so much that I became a BE to make my own pets. At one timeI gave up all combat skill to get a vendor and had to depend on my pets, it worked ok for PVE, just took FOREVER to kill anything.

Then one day I got scannedoutside my house, (I don't recall reading anywhere that you could be turned OVERT by this) I waited for the TEF to clear, went into Bestine, where me and my two favorite pets were killed so fast it wasn't funny. Even thought it was "PVP" they lost vitality and I realized that day, that I couldn't live like that anymore, it wasn't fair to me and it wasn't fair to Howard or Stun. So I picked up some Fencer skills because I heard they had good defense mods. My Damage was low so I switched to TKA. With Armor, buffs, and Brandy I can do the toughest missions in the game with 0040 of an elite profession, yet with MCH I can do much less in 20 times the time. (I might add that if I take a certain mind food along with the above that I am indeed completely invincible and can spam unlimited specials and do 2 enraged missions in under 10 min.)

It just doesn't make sense.

GMAN
I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.
