I love this tool and this weekend I found myself playing with it more than I was playing ingame! But whatever I did, I think I did something wrong...

I designed a level 34 twins with the tool. Its a third gen pet. The good news: 100-401 damage, the bad news: 2k health. /shrug. It has a ranged attack so maybe while some monster is trying to eat me, they can help add to my dps to kill it faster. (hopefully before it kills me)

For the first generation the tool predicted the level well. For the second generation the tool predicted the level well. But on the third generation, the tool was off a bit. Tool said lvl34, game said lvl39. /cry Back to the drawling board.

As far as being the worst BE, I'd like to make sure I'm not in the running for that. This weekend I managed to collect 2 DNA samples from Dath, for the pets I designed, in just 3 trips to the cloner! Not too bad I'd say

I finally got some DNA's from creatures higher than lvl 20 and was able to test this. And found the error... It's the power equation that is b0rked in DNA -> Generic DNA. BEtool said power 292 when the real stat were 382, and this the most important number when it comes to predicting the final pet level. I will look at it tomorrow and see if I can find out what's wrong

Even with this error it was pretty accurate. BETool stats within () :

Health: 6871 (6848)
Health Regen: 70 (70)
Armor: 4236 (4308)
To Hit: 120 (120)
Defense: 136 (135)
State Res: 16.8% (16.8%)
Crit Hit: 3.05% (3.11%)
Crit Save: 4.1% (4.11%)
Aggro: 4.95% (4.98%)
Dmg: 85-353 (82-344)
Level: 62 (59)

Almost...

Weird. I send the program to my bro for testing every now and then and he got an almost clean install of WinXP (no SP). The only file it has ever asked for is COMDLG32.OCX. I will post that link in the first post.

This is entirely up to Nam but I personally don't want to see this program suffer from 'feature-itess'. Piling on more and more features until it becomes .... a MICROSOFT product!

Seriously, the minimum levels of the skins should be coded in your brains and not in the program. Or else printed out on a paper next to you until you've got 'em memorized.

Just my 2 credits on this one,
dor

Horror lol

The program is a complete mess now anyway I just wanted to make a simple program and didn't make a good system to work with from the beginning. Then I got all these requests in the forum and thru PM, added more things and now my brain hurt every time I need to change something lol

I agree, just getting it working within a decent range of error is more than enough, nam has done an awesome job with it so far, the only 'feature' as such that i wanted to see (and i feel is a necessary feature for ease of use) was the on top feature which nam added within minutes of me mentioning it, much respect goes to nam for this tool.

On another note theres a whole page dedicated to this tool on SWG:Creature Crafter where i will be adding any and all dna stats and info in the format needed for the tool so people can copy and paste and use, if anyoe else wants to help collect this info can you please sign up and post any dna info you have in the DnA Testing and Development Archive over thereand as i get more info i will update the list.

Works great.. a little off depending on which pet you are making.. seems there is a min pet level for some, Thume is an example.
I am mainly working on mountable pets.. (only 3 nonCH mounts currently).. so mostly looking for CL 10 only.
Thanks for the util!!!

Is it possible to impliment a skin option? Some skins have a minimum level just as this poster has aptly stated. For example, a Tybis DNA template cannot go below 15 no matter how crappy the DNA is. This could prove handy.

If you get me a link to where I can find the different skin-levels I'll add it (only) for you. It's a 5 minute work.

I've been working hard to perfect pet creation in spite of all the changes Sony's made. I just discovered your tool and love it. Only trouble is ... I can't figure out how to use it in game. I have the game in a window ... I set the "always on top" for the add dna.

But (there's always a but) ... how the heck do I get my mouse pointer out of the game and into the Add. I know there's a way to do it without alt-tabbing out of the game, but just can't remember how.

Definitely suffering from a Senior Moment.

Place the Add DNA-window on top of your SWG-window (not above, below or next to it) and toggle on always on top. The SWG cursor will change when you move to the Add DNA-window

Nam - here's a stupid question ... do I need to have SWG running in windowed mode to get the tool to float on top?

Thanks, Dor
