at 1-1-1-1 in BE i was able to samplea Piket Plains Walker but not aSeething Bol on TC. I never did get a sample from the bol but it did aggro me quite a few times while trying to sample it. I am not sure if the CL level you can sample depends on what you have trained in the DNA sample tree, kinda seems like it to me though.

I am finding that higher CL creatures will aggrome more often on a failed attempts than what they would during my previous dabblings in BE back in August

If you don't know the CL of the critter you are sampling, and you ARE able to sample from it, you can still get a very good idea of what CL it is. Just multiply the xp you get from sampling it by 3 (or perhaps 4? been a while since I actually got xp from sampling

). After that divide by 10 and you have a good estimate of what the CL is. Same goes for scouting XP, say through mask scent. There is an exact way of determining it, and perhaps I will post on it once I have it shored up a bit.

Ok that so does not give CL level (the xp multiplying thing).

I get 868 from mutant rancors

tell me how in the world multiplying that by 4 and dividing by 10 gets 70?

Is it just me or is anyone else having difficulty with sampling DNA since the last patch. I am working my way up to the ladder and I'm at have DNA Sampling 4 but since the last patch I have not been able to retrieve a single sample of dna. I've been sampling Bol's on Dantooine and up til the patch I used to have about an 80% success rate. Now nothing.

depending on the creature, I can sample like 1 time for 3 or 4 failures sometimes more succes, I'm DNA sampling lev1, sampling on endor's creatures.

My inventory is at 60% capacity ( 36/60). Once in a while I will get the message about failing to get a sample but normally I just get " You begin taking dna sample" and then no message at all after that.

Am I missing something, or should I be failing 90% of the time on really simple creatures? Is there a way of knowing which animal will be easier to sample DNA from or is it all a crap shoot?

You shouldn't be failing that often on low level creatures. Check the following:

- Make sure you have room in your inventory

- Make sure you stay within 15m of your target

I'm not sure what else it could be.

Has any Master Bios been able to sample an "Enraged Rancor", "Enraged Bull Rancor" or a "Female Maclock" on Dathomir? I mastered scout and all of Ranger WAYFAR jus to be able to get within 15 meters to sample the dna, then i find out I KEEP FAILING? Can it be done? Or they too "high level" dna? for a master Bio?

The higest CL a Master BE can sample is 70
