I just started this profession and I am still 0-0-0-0 and I sampled from Falumpasets on Naboo and I get 299 xp per sample. I imagine though there are bigger fish to fry out there.

Endor...the southern outpost. I found a nice spot with Swirl Prongs and bounding jaxes, did all of Sampling 4 in about 2 hours or so...maybe less, but it didn't take as long as I had expected. You get about 300 per, but if you can find a nice spawn of them, its pretty much nonstop sampling.

Just so you know, I found that Gurks and Snorbal on Lok are 340+ on exp!

Snorbals rock for sampling! They aren't very agressive, don't deathblow, and give great xp. Gurks give pretty much the same xp per sample, but the difference is that if you fail and the Gurk attacks you, all of them will pounce on you (and I seemed to fail alot with them vrs the Snorbals). With the Snorbals, I would only get attacked by more than one if I was really close to another. Most of the time I was able to just warning shot it away! The others just mostly ignored me.

Another Snorbal/Gurk bonus. If you have to kill them, they give up Herbivore meat!

I also picked up BE just recently because the Holocron said so. I've gotten 394 sampling xp off of Tatooine's mountain squills, but it takes so long to succeed that I've just been taking muon gold and hitting up the easy mobs. I assume once I raise my sampling level I will get better quality samples as well as a higher success rate?

Please for the love of the Holocron tell me why I fail the sample so consistenly?

why can't i ever sample after a new patch? This is driving me insane.
Can't sample a vrelt, even. 45 minutes and 0 samples....

Strange. I sampled away quite normally after y'day's patch. Did you check to see if your inventory was full, this will cause repeated failure notices.

On y'day's patch though, i did find a huge increase in lag.

That's another one of the annoying things about BE, there is no message stating your inventory is full. You just fail at getting a sample. Very misleading. You could also be having alot of bad luck. If you aren't DNA Sampling 2 or higher, it's also harder to successfully get samples.

what is the best thing we can sample, i heard that enraged rancors were, but i spent about 20 minutes and 30 sample attempts and came away with nothing, and no my inventory wasn't full, any advice would be well received.

find a master scout or ranger buddy. they can tell you the CL of the animals yer going to try to sample.Right now, the highest you can go is 75

You can actually get a rough idea of the CL by looking at the HAM under the new system. This will give a ballpark figure of around5 challange ratings for error.
