Thread: Factory question

Crates will sometimes work as input, but occasionally it'll eat a ton of components and not produce anything. Uncrated parts are annoying (especially with multiple handler guns) but always work.

Ok, I usually make stim As in my factory and they require no sub componants. Today Im going to be cooking up a nice batch of Stim Bs that DO require sub componants. Now here is the question. I have heard you can just put a crate of componants in the factory and I have also heard you need to uncrate them first. So what is the story here?? Thanks in advance!!

For my equipment factory I can use crated items without any problem.

I don't know if they fixed it, or I'm just getting lucky for once, but my last 4 factory runs involving crates of subcomponents have been problem free.

When crafting items by hand, you get better results on avergae by experimenting one point at a time. However, each time that you experiment, it increases the complexity. the higher the complexity of an item, the longer it takes a factory to spit them out. Iv'e been told (and I haven't timed it, but it seems approx right) that the timing is 8 seconds per complexity point per item.

THUS if you're making a schematic...experiment all the points at once. It may take you 5, 6, or more tries to get a good schematic. But once you do, your factory will spit things out a lot faster!

Ok, I went home at lunch and warmed up my factory. I put everything in including the crates so wish me luck. I will either have a kick butt batch of stims or a big mess. lol Thanks for all the info on this one, I was really confused.

All of the factory bugs have been fixed.

You can use crates as ingreedients now.

BTW it helps to run 3 factorys to make the sub components all at 1 time. Instead of taking 4 nights to make stims, it only takes 1-2 nights to make the stims.

Can anyone use a factory? I would like to have my high tech field camps made in creates.

If you can make a schematic with the camp I guess it's possible to make it in a factory.

I'm not a ranger though so I don't know for sure, but I don't think you can make campkits to schematics. So you can't make them in a factory then

Yep, anyone can use a factory and you can make crates of any camp, or traps for that matter. I do this all the time.

10% experience I believe. Use them to make cheap or annoying things, and especially use them to make the artisan components since that's gen crafting xp so no losses there.

Avoid using them on the larger parts (manipulator arm package sets, etc.) if you're still after xp.
