Ok I might have missed this. I decided to work on my Non CH character's pet. My idea was to lvl it up so my MCH could train it specials. However, as a non CH I apparently can not lvl my pet. ?? I attacked in a group and outside a group, no training exp. It shows upin the examine box but can not be gained by a non CH. Is this intended? This could bring alot of work to us. But do we really want to have to lvl every pet that we want to train a special too. Or are CH the only ones that will end up with pets that have specials?

Only a CH can have a pet earn training points as it levels. If it belongs to a non-CH, they'll have to find a CH that is willing to level it for them, and teach it specials.

Now that is full on Bullshakalaka

I dont care how anyone looks at it, it's Bantha PooDoo

It's almost impossable to give pets away now at starports, now I give someone a lesser dewback baby and its always gonna be a baby, how in the freaking hellsbells is it ever gonna get big enough to become a mount fot that player. I can see it now.

Me "Free pets, one per player"

Player "Can Dewbacks still be mounts?"

Me "Well you take it and when it fills up on xp you find a CH and let him level it and give it back, and then you get it more xp by using it to attack and when it's xp is full again, you find another CH and so on and so on and so on till its big enough to be a mount for you , then you find a CH with 0,0,0,4 and get them to make it a mount for you."

(Half way through reading my book to him on how to get it to become a mount)

Player "And you are paying me how much to take this off your hands?" "ha ha ha Keep your pet man." "I will buy a back up speeder instead."

how about making NPC CH Trainers to be ableto level a pet for a non-CH player for a fee, heck, even let the NPC Trainer make it a mount for a fee too. Its hard enough to find a CH to make your pet a mount, let alone get someone willingto level a pet for them every time it needs it.... my head hurts just thinking about the pain this is turning into. In concept it seems like a cool idea but it seems noone thought of what it was going to do to players that are Non-CH. I might as well delete my non-ch pets, I cant give them away as it is, I dont want ot get laughed at when I try to give them away now. Not to mention the dewbacks I gave players that are going to email me "Why is my dewback not growing?" Dhaaa I wantto leave Gorath server just thinking about it.

NON CH can not gain any exp with their pets. So a mount will have to be leveled by us before training any specials. Is this the case with BE pets as well. I dont have room to take players pets and use them to lvl so i can teach them the new specials. I dont have the time to do so either. So in the short term the only pets with specials will be CH pets. Unless you count our throw aways that we use to learn the specials? Hmm...

CH's will have to trainpets ahead of time now to possibly sell them. That will certainly reduce the available supply if people think they can't sell them. That may be offset some by being able to offer non-CH pets with specials.

I think the other side of this will be more of a specialty market where people pay CH's to raise and train specific pets with specific sets of specials.

Until we get a better understanding of how the special system fully works much of this is pure guesswork.

Rather than start another thread, I thought I'd post my question here as it's kinda relevant.

I'm a Non-Ch and a few weeks back I bought a CL 10 Dewback. Well it's finally grown to CL10, but it's still pretty small...it doesn't even come up to my shoulders. My question is this: Will it get any bigger than it currently is? Or with this new system will I have to give it to a CH to get it to grow bigger because of the new creature XP system? I've been told that he's already to be trained as a mount, but why in blazes is he sosmall!? LOL

Here he is: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=293123&poll_id=0&warned=y

I posted on the Ahazi Trade Forums as well, but if there are any CHs on Ahazi that would be willing to grow and train a mountable Dewback like the one I have, I'll pay good money for it.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers!

If its a Bio-Engineered CL10 Dewback, it will never be mountable. All BE pets are too small to be mounted at CL10, since the level now determines the size of the BE'd pet.

Well, the price of a non-CH mount now is in the 100k range, because I'm going to charge heavily for my grinding time and my datapad space to grind.

Thanks for the reply!

Is there anyway to tell if the pet's been made by a BE or not? If mine is a BE pet and useless to me I'm willing to pay good credits for a CH's time to train and develop a Dewback mount for me.
