I quote -
"Behold, the most powerful nerf gun ever made"
That most definately, positively, has to be commando certed!

So I've been gone from SL, and SWG, for a few months now. When I left, people were talking about ideas like SL's having camps and special modules that give bonuses and such. Lots of great, innovative ideas were being thrown out. And I had high hopes for my return.
As I come back to read the current changes to SL on CU Testing, all I really notice is the armor cert and new weapon certs (I realize XP no longer SL XP and less prerequisites, but that is not the focus of my topic). There is no new groundbreaking changes, the trees essentially seem the same to me. No new skills were added and very few changes to the mods have been made.
How is this new incarnation of SL significantly different than it previously was? Am I missing something in the changes that has made the presence of an SL in a group all the more necessary to change the tide of a battle? What are the changes that occured that made the post-CU SL better than the pre-CU SL?

Well, NDA prevents those of us who know what's supposed to happen from telling you what... but suffice it to say SL is supposed to be getting a few more changes in the CU. However, do not mistake the CU for the full Squad Leader revamp we were promised a long time ago. We're still slated to receive a full revamp of our skill set and abilities.

However the thing that got me disturbed was that people were getting excited over a couple new guns for SL and that's it. I actually found it saddening to think that a new gun or two was all it took for people to be happy with SL. I wanted more things related to an actual overhaul. And I guess my only hope is that you all who took part testing with the NDA are also hard to please like I am, so that great and exciting changes will occur. As pretty as the new guns are, I really do hope for more for this profession.

the skills you see in the skill tree work will "differently" and yes the SL revamp is still scheduled. So while it is nice to have the new guns (the xp change is not nice) much work and skill redevelopmentisahead for the SLs

The focus of the Combat Upgrade is the core system of Combat. Adding in the new systems we talked about such as modular camps and E-Webs doesnt fit in with what is being Upgraded.
I am hoping that Ranger, Squad Leader, and Smuggler get some pretty extensive revamps. They are the only ones that really need to be fleshed out in terms of content and profession uniqueness.
What we all need to realize is that with the CU, a whole bunch of new options were opened up. The CU is changing a core part of the game, and with it how the devs develops SWG in the future.

A lot of us are excited about the new guns cause its the first real thing added to squad leader since...well ever. Its the start of something I hope will be a lot bigger and better. As I play the CU though I realize that one of SLs early ideas about fortifactions doesn't really seem to fit in with the faster paced nature of the CU. I would be happy if we had more tactic buffs like rally and perhaps some formations which grants bonuses to abilities or create new abilities.
No idea when the revamp is scheduled but I would hope it be done by at least end of June or early July.

I just came back to SWG last week and am going through the freelance pilot profession at a decent rate. But, I screwed up my skill selection with the trainer/mission giver at Jabba's palace. I intended on taking components 3 as my 1st tier 3 skill but took another in error. I do have enough experience to take an additional skill from him, however, he wont offer to train me until I finish the current mission. Is there another trainer I can go to? I REALLY need to train in components 3 so i can upgrade my ship to level 7 components. I can't solo my current mission with these crappy level 5 components. Please tell me that there is another way to train. I mean, does one HAVE to do these missions in order to just level up? I know I have read posts about people finding exp grinding spots so i assume that they train with someone other than the person who dispenses the quest/themed missions.

For tier 3 you don't need to get any xp for any of the boxes. You just have to do the missions. So yes, you're stuck with your selection unfortunately. If you can't find a way to get through the mission with your current ship setup you'll have to get some help for it.

Ok, I got my visit from the old man, I killed the sith, and took out their base camp and got the "mysterious data disk". How come I have no waypoint to Aurilla?
Please help!
