Ok folks, be nice to Tal, he is just passing the message....

I think SOE is still trying find out what is the 'balance' point. This will of course take a while, you can still see some 'balancing works' being done for EQ, LOL.

It all amounts to the designers (not the crafting but the combat designers) have no clue where to put their stake in the ground and say 'ok, this is our base point and all dmg, resists start here'. I think the dev has very little to do with this. This is the main issue of differnt profession crying being nerfed or too powerful...

I would not expect SOE gonna give us an answer until they gota clue on where is the basis point, even if they do, they gonna change it again if they mess it up again.....i think its gonna be a while.

"Yes, please explain to the Bio Engineers that it is a known issue that level 10 pets are still being made too powerful and will be addressed at some point in the future. Currently "legal" pets will remain in the system until this bug is fixed. After the fix they will fall into the broken pet checks and will be able to be corrected via the broken pet interface."

On top of everything else this is also a problem, the stats of the original uber pets couldn't be lowered to keep them non-ch.

Perhaps the devs will make a working pet interface that does the job this time around.

With the exception of the new skins, I hated the BE patch. The cloning system became far to complex to remain interesting for me. I've completely given up on making clones. I'd been looking forward to the upcoming documentation, in hopes I could find it interesting again, but given the problem with the ongoing broken clones, I'm beginning to think the Devs don't even understand how the new cloning system works. How on earth are they going to document it such that we can truly understand what is and is not a legal clone?

ArthurDentOnBria ....All this stuff about "invalid stat checks" is just a way of saying "there are bugs in sampling/resampling and CL calculations and we have no confidence in our ability to find and fix such problems". This may actually be a realistic assessment of the situation as it is certainly a complex system. ....

LOL, very nicely put and straight forward. Again, I am a programmer myself and I am pretty sure I will fall into the same situation if the designers have no clue of what the hell is going on...but luckily, we have good logic design with tons ofuse cases so my project turns out well, heh.

OK, I'll repeat myself...

Current probots have 800+ HAM, medium armor, and 40% resists which is equal to about 5000 HAM unarmored. The pre-nerf ones that are still around have 2 or 3 times the HAM.

Exactly how is a 4K/2K/2K critter unbalanced?

Other than ease of healing and buffability, how are non-CH pets useful, let alone broken? And this situation will worsen when the new and improved droids come out.

Which is why I don't make non-CH pets anymore.

Not forgetting probots have ranged - do more than 30-40 damage and arent affected by state changes such as KD, dizzy, blind, poison, disease, intimidate etc

Add to that publish 7 is bringing in new and better combat droids as well as droid damage repair kits (presumably droid stims) and we're out of business for the non-ch market

I agree with others that a statement like you make here does more harm than good. It does us no good to know that "some pets have unbalanced stats" unless there is also a guideline to back this up. Frankly, I'm dissappointed that you had this type of conversation with the developer and didn't touch on this issue as this is clearly one of the hottest issues in this profession right now.

I understand and agree withthis sentiment, and I want the answer as much as you do. I simply haven't been given it yet. I would like to point out to people thatthese pets are not invalid. They are actually legal within the current system and they won't be going poof when they grow up. They are just stronger than intended. It's likely going to be months before another change is made and none of these will change until then. I know this isn't an answer that'sgoing to make anyone happy, but I couldn't see holding the information and not telling you guys in hopes of the rest of the answer.

I'm not going to wait months for the BE dev to get his head out and fix things. I'll be making CL10 animals just like I always have. Besides, in a number of months some people won't even be playing the game anymore. I can't believe that after nearly a year the BE profession is still being "fixed." For me its business as usual.

I do appreciate you keeping us up to date

Hey here's a question for you... When is the last time the devs even showed their heads on this board? They have made 2 stops on the ch board already this week to speak with them over their concerns. They tell us that our chs are unbalanced through our correspondant, then refuse to even show their faces and tell us how they are unbalanced. You cannot punish someone for breaking a rule that is not written ANYWHERE, otherwise you are nothing more than a hypocrite.

DEVS YOU REALLY SHOULD EXPLAIN TO US WHAT THE LIMITS ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is definitely... frustrating... disappointing. Guess it's business as usual, though, if the changes won't be for a while to come. I just really hope they fix it so that you can adjust the pet's stats and keep the CL more sooner than later.

Some of us make money only by selling pets.. to tell us that our pets my be invalid once again is very disturbing. Us crafters that are not combat class use our products as a means of survival, and we are the ones that help push the economy. You telling us and the public that our pets may be invalid has hurt our business. Why would anyone buy a pet now? Some of us specialize in low level pets. And now it is all for nothing.

I don't understand why this cannot be fixed and has to be an ongoing issue, we are already becoming the laughing stock of professions, love how this new BE system was supposed to be a GOOD thing
