Thread: Bad News: new cloning and mounts.
My combat level is too low at level 57
Ummm...Sek, I think you are getting a few of my points jumbled together.....
Im not asking for balance then uber, I was saying it was unfair to a profession that had a specific task for non-professions to be able to call better pets than them. It is not considered balanced when a non-CH can call a pet better than a CH. The other post, I am asking for crafting of LVL 70 (NOT LV 10) pets like the ones with stats posted by BE's on this very forum. "Uber" if you wish to use that term for the people who use sp to be ablt to call them. You are getting these two intermixed and they have nothing to do with each other. LVL 10 is LVL 10 and LVL 70 is LVL 70. Pre-CU a lvl 10 could be like a lvl 50, post it is forever stuck at lvl 10...GOOD. How can you say that a person with no CREATURE HANDLING SKILL handling a creature worthy of combat while othersuse SP to get the same thing is balanced?
THIS IS MY POINT RIGHT HEREREAD IT SLOWLY.
People who do not have the ability to control strong creatures should not be able to. People who use the sp to gain this ability should.
Next point. A BE can make a better pet than a wild tame, please read the thread on this very board titled "Well, I went for power...". I was kind enough to post the URL and some stats from that very thread in this thread. If you want to see an example of this ingame, I will show you the two in combat on the Rryyat Trail. The BE pets I have did way better than the wild tames. The stats on the BE pets from the other thread would also do way better and they are from post CU BE's. If you can't make these pets, maybe you should ask those BE's for help.
Anyway, I'm done.....I can't seem to make my point clear enough for you even though others understood it. Thanks for calling me a wall, good to know you care. I'm not going ot turn this in to a big rant just because of miscommunication. I know you are upset. WE ALL ARE. BE's are not the only ones who lost something. How ould you like it if 2 entire branches of your skill tree did JACK SQUAT??? So guess what I did....I dropped those trees. Sure, I cant be a master dancer now....but you gotta ask yourself if its worth it?
And take a lesson from Spaz's last post...he actually answered a question in a legit, calm and clear way instead of huffing and mocking. Now I understand the armor stat, and I can tell you this...my wild pets don't have it.

Ok, I'm a MBE,MCH and I have all mix of old old, old, pre CU, pre 17, post 17 BE, and non-BE pets...
1) Wild DOES have armor. CH have even posted from testing that the armor for a wild CL70 seems to be around 4800 due to the amount of damage being seen. We also can put armor, but it's fairly close to wild and since it's diminishing returns, I don't hold up much hope for BE pets being all that much better than wild in the armor department.
2) Wild pets can be around 6600 or so in health. We can make 8000s health pets, some might get nerfed when full-grown though to not be usable. I have a 7700 health one that is fully grown and perfectly callable. So we can do better in health than wild.
3) We OUTDAMGE by alandslide ANY wild pet you want to talk to me about that a CH can tame. Now, this is the important part, only post publish pets can do this really. They are being given a hidden attack speed stat that allows them to hit nearly 2 to 1 in comparison. I compared to pre CU and pre pub BE pets and the old ones don't have the speed. You MUST get a post pub BE pet if you want to get the best damage pet to help hold aggro the best.
We have a market for CHs, the 3 narglatches are not good tanks due to the double damage factor we can get. BEs should start making and selling pets. I want to find some on Ket since my BE is on Starsider. I have 3 narglatches and I prefer using the new BE pets, they just plain work better. Stop saying we can't make better than wild. It only looks like that on the deed. The attack speed factor means we can!

Spazzers, my sympathy to your plight is EXTREMELY limited.
Long before I started up an avatar to be a BE, I was a CH.
The fact that non-CH have been able to call and control creatures that in the wild would be level 20 to 30 is a slap in the face of CHs who have to spend skill points to call similar creatures. So if CL 10 and below creatures are too small now to take saddles, well, tough. There's not that great a market for mounts to begin with.
You still have the challenge of creating interesting, combat efficent pets for CHs, and you now have medical crafting as a means of support. StimDs alone should keep you in clover.
This is the most condescending and selfish thing I've ever seen anyone post. How would you feel if I said all 7 of you creature handlers could just disappear and it wouldn't affect me in the least? My main market was non-creature handler animals, mounts and non-mounts alike. How dare you insult me in this fashion. I don't play this game for credits. It's all monopoly money. I play it because it's fun, or used to be anyway. I don't need to craft stim D's. I craft animals.
Non-creature handler pets have lost their tanking abilities because they don't hold aggro any longer. if an animal does enough damage to hold aggro, as stated in the patch notes, using a non-creature handler pet could create a situation of reduced xp or no-kill rights. That left us primarily with mounts. Now that's been taken away as well. And this jack-a$$ of a creature handler is doing a happy dance. Par for the course I guess.
forgive me Sio but all this is upsetting and I don't mean point a finger at you or am mad at you before i start my rant.
"Long before I started up an avatar to be a BE, I was a CH."
I also have started the month SWG even came out.. I have 3 chars.. and have both BE and CH
"The fact that non-CH have been able to call and control creatures that in the wild would be level 20 to 30 is a slap in the face of CHs who have to spend skill points to call similar creatures."
I agree it was a slap in the face but at the same time you are going to have those test everything and anything that was in game to make the best they possibly can and have the pride in doing so. This by no means is there fault.. its human nature.
"So if CL 10 and below creatures are too small now to take saddles, well, tough. There's not that great a market for mounts to begin with."
I am going to disagree with you on this... I made MILLIONS on NON CH alone and if your only comeback to .. hey BE here is another slap in the face (did you really like it when you were a CH) then its a poor excuse for a change.. I am also not saying that the HAM changes are bad I do think that a NON CH pet should not do what a lvl 60 CH pet can do.
"You still have the challenge of creating interesting, combat efficent pets for CHs, and you now have medical crafting as a means of support. StimDs alone should keep you in clover."
Again, i am sorry im taking this out on you when in fact im just pissed at the game and the devs. I liked making NON CH PETS.. there wa a viable market for me (sorry there wasnt for you).. when the new changes came in i went to mounts.. still viable market.. I personally DO NOT enjoy making CH pets.. specially when I know from personal experience that I can just as easily get them on my own.. yes was nice back in the day can get a BE monster one.. but now.. if you look and observe.. you are unable to get a BE made pet that is any better or give significant reason to even buy a BE CH PET that you can get from the wild!.. now.. you say i can make money doing STIMD's.. if i wanted to do STIMD's.. i would have been a doctor.. my time has run out on respec.. ty very much.. not your fault again games fault.. i thought maybe just maybe they would fix things but instead its only gotten worse.. the day of the BE pets.. is over as far as I can see.. and now with now RESPEC i have to say goodbye or grind away..
lets also journey back some shall we... remember the day not too long ago.. when they PUT mounts in the game for BE's to make.. why take them away now.. took them 1+yr to fix BE.. yes folks.. for the first yr.. BE suffered thru many many bugs and things that were to be that had to wait till they felt all other professions were dealt with!
Seriously.. I do hope this is a bug.. I do hope they fix this SOON and not put BE on the back burner again..and no im not happy and it takes alot for me to even consider posting.
Again, I am sorry for my rant and for taking it out on you it is not my intention I am just very frustrated since I have been a die hard BE from the very get go of SWG
TY for all those that read this and listened *hugs*

sure would like to see your recipe for getting healths to 8000s and be valid ![]()
I'll say it again, that's the CL calculation's responsibility. And we can't make them anymore anyhow! There's no reason to justify this nerf/fix/bug with that arguement.
And even if they were still craftable this fix doesn't stop non-ch's from controlling them, just from the pet having a saddle on it!
So yeah, it'd be nice to know if it was intentional or not as I fail to see what this accomplishes (been saying that a lot lately
Back to the original topic - seems like the easy solution would be to just have the "Train as Mount" command set the creature back to it's default, wild size with a saddle on it.
That would then give you a choice...you can have your tiny bantha without a saddle, or you can put a saddle on him but make him the bigger default size. BEs could still make and sell the CL10 mounts, and CHs could still tame and sellthe CL10 mounts.
Doesn't seem that difficult to me.

thanks Eavik for TRYING to get back to the original subject
I just have 2 questions: IS THIS PERMANENT!! i.e. a glitch they will smile and say 'oh we planned it this way' and 2nd question: WHY WEREN'T we told this was coming???? (I would have respec'd out of BE if I had know ![]()
On the opposite end of the scale there is the same mount problem. I am MBE/MCH and I wanted a pet I could ride and just jump off and fight with it, without waiting to call my pet.
I made a CL 66 carrion spat for their speed. I tamed it, trained it as mount and waited for it to grow. As it was growing it had a saddle, and I could ride it. Now that it is full grown it lost it's saddle. The radial option is there to ride it but nothing happens. I can dance around the ankles of this monstrous spat and it's probably as tall as a 4 story building. On the brighter side it does a good job of tanking and holding aggro, but I really hope to ride it again someday.
