I just got Novice Bio-Engineer. How do i get DNA samples? Someone told me it's in the radial menu of creatures, but it doesn't appear for me. Can anyone help?

/sampledna

There is no radial option.

I'm only at 1020 but I noticed that sampling has become pointless as I can only sample low level creatures that don't work well when creating any creature on the 1st branch of critters. Hate to think what sort of poo a novice is sampling.

Most masters who have actually made the effort to try and sample these creatures have also reported that they're not having any luck getting a sample anymore either. People seem to be quite happy arguing over mask scent and sampling from backpacks but seem to forget that we can't sample these creatures atm period! this is a huge nerf to our DNA sampling almost cutting the DNA level we can use in half! I just wish other BEs in the community would wake up and stop arguing/ranting over issues that are moot until we can actually successfully sample these creature again regardless of whether they're running around in the wild or sitting in our backpacks.

they shouldve just removed it from the templates, seeing as its a moot pet anyway, that way it wouldnt have screwed with the sampling. they keep changing so much stuff im gonna delete my account. it sux trying to get master in a profession that things keep changing every other day. i wish for once they would fix the problems instead of adding **edit** that shouldve been in the game to begin with. im tired of paying sony to beta test a game that is clearly not even out of alpha yet.

it only took them a day to remove the error they made when we could sample/kil/harvest....so why then is it so hard to fix the broken things? like, why on earth did they spend the time to add another color scheme to the ui?

it seems to me they are only doing damage control, and still working on the expansion, instead of patching a 50% or less completed game.

these guys have nowsurpassed Valve when it comes to patching andscrewing upthings in their game.

i understand they are trying to get things right, but for gods sakes, just fix the things that DONT work and leave the content addition for the side burner till the game freaking works right!

C'mon cut the devs some slack. Afterall, they took our ability to sample away .. true .. they cut our resources out of the game or so it seems .. true .. They've made it perty much pointless to become a Bio Engineer (other than to create vitality packs) .. true ..

But hey things are looking up!! They allow us to walk around shirtless!!!!

DNA sampling was changed so that now your success rate is now relative to your sampling level vs the sampled creatures' level (ie your sample 75 [dna 4]and CL 15 = High success, while you sample level 5 [novice BE] and CL 40 = next to impossible). What's the matter. I seem to recall everyone crying about the old success rates. They fixed em for us (which I believe was and still is a good fix). Now novice BE can't sample the same kind of critters a master or High level BE can. Believe it or not, this is GOOD. Yes it means the grind is a bit slower at novice, but its still much quicker than the crafting part.

The problem is you can't sample high high level mobs for DNA templates. I use to spend hours trying to get a enraged kimo's DNA. I would also hunt Endor, Dath, etc. looking for suitable creatures to sample from. With the current change that is all for not. I'm not all up in arms over it as I suspect it is a prelude to the clone changes but am a little miffed as it hurts current clones to a small degree.

The change to success based on skill I never had a issue with one way or the other. I figured the low quality of the sample made up for the ability to sample anything.....or attempt to. Slowing the rate a BE can level is not good. It already takes a very long time to hit master BE compared to some of the other classes.

Ahem, *points to signature*, the grind for dna sampleing is the slowest part for me.

I think we really need some sort of offical explanation of how this new dna sampling is actually supposed to exactly work, cos I for one still think its bugged (shock horror).

So far, I've tried to sample my own kimo (level 70?) about 40 times and failed everytime.

I got a sample of an enraged rancor (level 75)first time, which promptly dropped dead.

I've gotten 4 for 4 samples from a slinking voritor hunter ( level 80 )

This isnt consistant.

This sampling thing doesn't work. I'm a novice BE, on the flurry server. I understand that since i'm a novice i shouldn't be out there sampling rancors and the such. But i'm on corellia trying to sample gurrburs just to get sampling xp so i can get a new level. And i can't get a sample. I tried last night for over an hour. And i averaged it out. I'm getting as secussfull sample 1 out of every 25 times on a gurrbur, that's not right, or worth it. Since i'm only getting like 48 sampling xp for it and i can't even remember how much i need for the first level but at this rate i should get my first level by this time next year. It's just not worth it. If it doesn't get fixed this will be another class that i will have to drop.

Dosaik,

Try going to Naboo. I just got Novice BE, so of course, my sampling is limited as well. I range in success from 25% to 75% per session, working on gnorts, capper spineflaps, chubas, diseased nunas, etc.

Granted, I only get like one "average" sample for every eight "below average" or "low quality" samples, but again, I just started the day before this last "big patch". And the only thing I'm making are kaadus, jax, eopies to fill my house with pet furniture or give them away to folks.

I actually just hit "DNA Sampling I" last night before I logged, so I'm interested in seeing the difference, if any.

Hey All,

I amgettingtryingto findwhat are best sources for DNA Sampling. I havent been able to sample anything and get exp above 260, but I have read, in the past on other posts that I have searched for, about sampling for around 400 exp per sample.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
