99 to 100 % experimentation based on the conductivity of the metal.

The maximum result for a crafting tool is 15.00 mate.

Conductivity is the key so I'm assuming that if I use polymer and minerals with no conductivity that the product quality is based of the metal alone. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

That being said I made up some 14.35 F&C Tools...however I'm confused about experimenting on generic crafting tools...what type of station do I need to sit at and use to make and experiment on the different types of tools.

Although I'm not new to crafting I am expanding my products while I gather more armorsmith resources...thanks for the help yen's

I'm not sure on this, but something has changed in the game and now you can only make Generic Crafting Tools with a Generic Crafting Tool, which means you can't experiment at all on them. SOE's wisdom strikes again.

This is correct. You need to use a Generic Crafting tool to make a Generic Crafting tool. And because a Generic Crafting tool does not have a matching craftingstation, there is no experimenting when making anything with them including other Generic Crafting tools.

In addition, because a generic crafting tool does not allow you to make a schematic, you cannot make a run of generic crafting tools in a factory. They must be made one at a time.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

Questions

1. Why would you want to use a generic crafting tool?

2. Wouldn't this make the starting generic tools better?

1) Because it's what a newbie character gets and relys on in the beginning. Having cheap, but well made, Generic tools would help someone just getting started. Plus, it can craft all of the basic things that don't require a specialized tool such as StimA's, some smuggler gear, etc. The point would be that someone who doesn't use the specialized tools alot, or that uses them to make the simpler items that a Generic tool can make, would't have to swap out (or carry on them as I do) all of the tools necessary to do the different jobs. They could just have the tools loaded on one single shortcut bar, and be done with it, instead of having to spread them out over a couple of bars, or cram what they can into one.

Not to mention the saved inventory space....

2) Yep. It sure would. That might be one of the unspoken reasons it's been changed.

What is the max bonus for a LS crafting tool? One of the posts I believe by MisNil referenced a crafting tool being +15, is 14.91 close enough or is it possible to get 15.00?

I'm not sure I have ever read where the 'quality' of a crafting tool makes any difference.

I think it helps with the chance of getting great or amazing successes and decreases the chance of crit failure, but I could be wrong.

I have a 15.00. Had to buy it. The .09 isn't going to help much if not at all, but since I only paid 10k for the perfect LS tool, what the heck.

+15 are no longer craftable in any form of tool but .09 isn't much of a differense so it doesn't matter.
