Well,

How are you on cash? heh...

The only mobs that drop them are humanoids. I've gotten them off of thugs mostly, but faction NPCs (both rebel and imperial) drop them too. I got about half of mine from drops. (There's a great spot on Naboo for this, the beaches of Kadaara. Lots of Mummer thugs.)

The other half I got from friends and kind donations. Someone overheard me buying a crate of Molecular clamps and why... so he ran up and gave me six of them. All he wanted was if anything interesting was in them. (there, of course, was nothing worthwhile in there.)

I never bought them from the bazaar, but I do see them for sale there. Anywhere from 500-3000cr. Usually on the higher end. :/

I suggest you hit that spot in Kadaara, or someplace like it, and slaughter as many thugs as you can stomach. (I did alot of my unarm grind there too.) Then shout for them.

I'll probably catch heat for this, but my customers SURE don't mind. I went to Moenia, Naboo (it maybe drained, but as many people that are there, you are bound to find customers) and Coronet, Corellia. Within 2 hours I'd say I finished all 20 plus another 10 or so. Buy clamps. It takes one clamp per container, and what you lose in cash will seem trivial compared to how fast you level du to slicing containers. Once in a WELL populated area (outside starports, outside cantinas) I made a macro:" /yell Slicing LOCKED CONTAINERS Free!! 100% Guarentee!!" and let me tell you it works. What's the guarentee, they'd ask... that it'll be opened if it's not perm locked. BE SURE TO HAVE A CLAMP OUT IN YOUR INVENTORY before you slice, then select the 3rd option, shunt the powernode with a molecular clamp. Once the next popup comes (looks almost indentical to the first) read the blurb at the top. The last line will say "...cut the positive/negative". Choose the option that coinicdes with the blurb. The last one pops up and you have one option that says "Cut..." do that one and its a guarenteed slice. MUST USE A CLAMP for guarentee.. not a fan.

I am still slicing containers for free, as using clamps on terminals is expensive and if you guess on terminals, well you'll prolly get 30% right. Terms = 100xp, Containers = 250xp. I just read the thread about crafting shadowpaw between terminal slices, so hopefully after a few hours of slicing terms and spices I'll be at Spices4 and Slicing 3 (of which I have a stockade of crap weps to slice!) Have fun!

Thanks for the advice guys. I have heard of the clamps before but always figured that only high level slicers could only use them. I'll try them out though. I am sure they will be pretty expensive, but oh well!

Hi all,

I just made novice smuggler yesterday finally! I was curious as what was the best way to get locked containers. I have only found one locked container ever since the launch of the game, so I know they are pretty hard to come by. I tried slicing it yesterday and failed, and I did not receive any slicing XP for failing. Anyway, are there specific NPCs that drop them? Or just the usual Meatlumps, Pirates etc. as posted in the unofficial FAQ? I am guessing this first step is probably the hardest due to the rarity of locked containers. Any advice would be appreciated!

The best advice is to have friends look for them with you. NPCs drop them, but none more than others. Find a spawn point of NPCs that you can handle, and keep whacking...

Also, buy clamps. No matter what anyone says about only Slice 4 smugglers should be able to use them, you need 20 containers... and to fail more than a couple would suck.

I'm currently CH 1-2-0-2 and working the tree to get to MCH. However, I'm finding that it's a hard grind getting the necessary XP to hasten the process of climbing. I've been using small critturs to gain the XP, but usually find that most critturs only give me on average 100 XP per kill. Anyone list me a few tips to get along. I'm about halfway to Management III so that I can have two critturs out at once. Are there any particular species that work well in pairs and reap good XP?

Also, with the advent of Mounts, will already tamed adults be able to be trained as a mount, or will it need me to go and find these new lower CL babies that are beginning to spawn. Seems to me that if you are able to train a beastie, then anyone can ride it. (I use the example ofanyone being able to ride a horse if they are taught, regardless of it's size; but not everyone can train one!!). If you can ride a horse for example you can ride a donkey, pony, horse, mule etc etc etc....all of which are different sizes, temperaments and danger. You catch my drift?

my kingdom for an edit button.hit enter too soon

as to your second question i am also curious on this.i havent really been following up on mounts but i would think you can train them to be a mount at any time.if im not mistaken you cant even ride them they are full grown or close to it.that would be kinda silly to be riding a baby dewback or whatever.

can someone comment on this?

I just made MCH. Can anyone tell me what the best combos are and why? Also, which pets are the best tanks and which ones are worth selling. Their planets would be helpfull to. Thanks for your time.

I can't imagine any pets being worth selling. I have had 2 different CH characters so far. I have NEVER bought a pet from another CH. I just don't see the point in it. If you can't tame it yourself you can't use it anyway, so why pay for something you can get for free? The only pets I see a market for are non-ch pets, and most CHs, especially Masters don't want to be bothered with those.

The answer is because many CHs are too lazy to wander in the wild for hours on end looking for animals.

While I may wander that much, I usually make 15k for GMs on dantooine, 15k on pikets and thunes (dantooine) and maybe 30k for something more rare as well as effective. I try not to inflate prices by selling stuff at 50k. Never gone above 30k for a pet and occassionally give em away for free. Most I tame on Dantooine or Endor.

Note that while GMs are the best tanks in game, they arent at all rare, and are very common if you know where to look. They shouldn't go for even 1k per CL.

okay so far with my master swordsman I would use two bleeds, one posture change, itimidate(sp) and then headshot until it's dead. I am a doctor too so I'm buff'd tons and only thing I need worry about is mind. I looked closely at swordsman and we get zero pure posture change attacks. Nor do we get pure stun, dizzy, blind etc attacks. I love bleeds and the insane dmg I do and was thinking about master brawler for 2h lunge 2...I was told that this is a 16m pure kd move...Is this correct? If so, what is thekd success with it plz. Can it be spammed etc.

I like the fact that tk get pure dizzy kd etc attacks. Do we do THAT much more dmg with our bleeds that we sacrifice pure status and kd techniques.

Any help would be great. I luv my swordsman but also I luv the advantage of variety of tk.
