Whatever you do, do not play JA if u want to stay interested in becoming a jedi in this game, or for that matter, just staying interested in this game as it currently is. JA, eats this game alive. After playing it, i feel SOE should be paying me 15 bucks a month to play their dung, er, i mean work out the bugs, and wait for content.

i went to fort tusken for a few days straight...of course its somewhat hard now since:

A) fort isnt as hard as it used to be

B) i used VBs to get alot of xp, thus i got alot of combat xp..you cant use VBs anymore unless TKA

also try blasting everything you find, as well

once again the myth presents itself...just because you are not certified to use VK's, you can still use them...just with a small damage penalty...but the speed MORE then makes up for that penalty...without my VK's I did about 180 damage every 3 seconds...with them I did abuot 140 damage every 1.7 seconds (sliced)...

It would be completely nuts to fight unarmed with out the VK's when you can hit so much faster with them...certified or not...

Greetings

I dont use these boards so often but now is the time for me to get some help

I started working on DE about 2 weeks ago and since im nearly master i decided i wanted to become a pikeman as well

im just split between

a) getting master brawler for the extra defenses

b) getting novice marksman and get ranged weapon support IV, for the defenses

by getting master bralwer my melee defense will be the best.

but by getting ranged weapon support my ranged defense will be the best

i dont have enough points to get both

Which one is most important??

Im thinking ranged defense, but what do i know

im just a newbie

Your going to be slaughtered no matter which way you cut the cake, atm I wouldn't plan that far ahead. Work on getting Master Pike first- that'll be hard enough.

what u mean??
wouldent maser pike be more far ahead than trying to get ranged weapon support IV or master brawler?

I realize that pikeman is having trouble etc

Must admit that im not 100 % sure pike is the best choice for me

but i like walking around with a stick, besides theres way to many who walk around with a big ugly axe

I was just wondering which defense i should work on getting

i would think this defense would be most important to any melee profession

im thinking ranged defense as the most important

am i right?

Wacry 2 would be an excellent skill if it actually worked - I havent landed one in weeks.

It seems to be fixed on TC.

I don't think it would have been fixed except that it seems to be the same as the smuggler skill Panic Shot. And smugglers are getting attention recently.

Well i already got myself a wookie alt who got some creature handler skills, some pistoleer skills and some bountyhunter skills

I just find ranged combat boring really

i might actually let my main go fully crafter and let my wookie alt become a pikeman.

not sure yet thou

It dont mean anything to me that pikeman class is broken

well its sad but i can live with it

it WILL get fixed some day

be it tomorrow or next year i dunno but it will be fixed

besides im already playing the #1 broken profession

and sofar i like it

Neither of the defenses works correctly, that's my point. You'll get killed no matter which one you pick. Your playing a ranged game, if you want to have FUN, I suggest going a ranged class. I'm not trying to shatter your dreams of carrying a stick, but seriously, think about what your getting yourself into before you commit to it. Right now, and, for the forseeable future, Pikeman are exactly that. We carry neat looking sticks. You'll be useless in EVERY other field.

Intimidate 2 and Warcry 2 which are given in master brawler are both EXCELLENT skills. Much better at keeping you alive than melee and ranged def.

the support are from combat points, I doubt you'll have enough to go around if you plan on getting anything done with pikeman. The accuracy (most important) skills are bought with combat points.
