Heh, I tried for an hour to get a spineflapper handmaiden baby. I saw 4 of them spawn, but everytime the red guards would show up and agro everything. I think I only got one actual attempt at taming, which failed.
Wookies can weild agro earlier, I think the +10 goes both to agro and non agro. or maybe it is just screwed up.
Also, BE creatures do not lose abilities as they age. No idea where that came from.
My questions:
Is it better to have two (or 3) pets out or just one big one? For instance, you could have 3 GSP's running around at master I think.
What do vitality kit ratings affect?
keep it at the top....great stuff!
oh, and i was looking up some of the better non-ch pets described in this post and the description say non tameable...is that wrong? i mean it must be, since people talk about where to find them...
so like for mountain krevol, cowardly gurreck, rocl beetle and spineflap handmaiden...if i can find these babies, i can train them as a novice CH 0-0-0-0 ?
thanks! don't want to run around in the wood for 3 hours just to find out i can't even tame these ![]()
Only animals marked "Name (baby)" are tameable. The adult versions aren't - that's what you've been looking at. If you find a (baby) one you'll see its tameable.
Alot of novice CHs ask these questions and the answer is No you can't tame **edit**. About the strongest thing I got as a novice CH was a spineflap handmaiden and I think they nerfed CH a little bit more since then because my friend who just hit novice CH can't tame anything but gnorts and nunas and crap. You for sure cannot tame a cowardly gurreck, I am almost a MCH and the cowardly gurrecks still give me problems, it takes like 2-3 times to get them. If you can indeed get a handmaiden do get one they are great pets for a novice

You are 100 percent incorrect with regards to Graul Maulers. At 2, 2, 0, 0, you will have 35 max creature level. You are probably saying to yourself... **edit**, I can call a Graul Mauler when it's full grown. Even as a Wookie, nope. Here's why. Look at the Taming tree. Specifically, look at Taming wild creatures. Novice CH'er get 5 to taming wild creatures. Taming 1 gets +10 to taming wild creatures. Taming 2 gets +10. That puts you at 25. Once your Graul Mauler that you purchased hits it's final growth spurt, it will have outgrown your Taming Wild Creatures +25 rating. Once you hit Taming 3, your Taming wild creatures rating gets a boost of 10... putting you at 35, and viola, break out the full grown Graul Mauler.
Wookies get zero Taming Wild Creature bonuses, there is no benefit of being a wookie as a CH, imho.
Hope that clears a little bit up for you.

heh, thanks for the advice Electric...but Clomax makes me hope things have changed or something...
if anybody has recent experience with this and can settle it for good...great!!
if not, i will run around in the mountains for a few hours and let you know the answer myself! ![]()
i will probably go for 1-1-1-1, that way i can tame a semi-decent pet and train it all the basic commands.
thanks for getting these questions worked out...pretty soon this thread will have every possible novice CH question answered.
Numerous Wookie's have posted saying that they can tame a Graul Mauler at 2/2/x/x (which also means that they can call them when full-grown.) I decided that there were so many saying this that it was true despite the fact that I am not a Wookie and can't prove this myself. I was able to prove that as a 2/2/x/x non-Wookie I could not tame a Graul Mauler although I also know for a fact that I canget one as a baby from another CH and use it until it becomes an adult.
Also, you're 'taming wild creatures' example raises a number of concerns. First, at Novice CH you can tame creatures that are CL15 (Cowardly Guerrek for example) despite the fact that you only have +5 to 'taming wild creatures'. At 1/1/x/x you can tame a Grand Wrix at CL22 - although your taming wild creatures skill is only +15. I think this is enough of an inconsistency to make your Graul Mauler example suspect. I sure wish there was a way to figure this out, but I don't think we have enough information (yet!) to determine what formula SWG uses to determine the taming ability (at least for the Graul Mauler!) Others have raised the idea that the fact that the Graul Mauleris agressive has an impact. I suspect that this is true and has something to do with the +10 toTame Vicious Creatures you have at 2/2 and some statistic that the GM has that we don't know about. This is just a guess though.
I am highly interested in any facts that you (or anyone) has in area of what can and can't tame - especially those that appear tameable but aren't obviously!
