Yes i do Sorry I should have posted links in the first post. My bad.

This is from the patch notes as of 9/4 (about 2/3 of the way down the page in the ch section)

# Pet stats reduced due to vitality follow this formula:
75 to 100 = no stat reduction
50 to 75 = 25% stat reduction
25 to 50 = 50% stat reduction
1 - 25 = 75% stat reduction
# Pet stats will never be reduced more than 75% due to vitality loss.

As for the DB, i can't find the place where i read it, but it was discussed on TC for a while.

Crooth-

Last night I tested it out, and I did indeed tame a Kliknik Scout, Kliknik Defender, and Kliknik Warrior, as a wookie, all at 1,1,0,2. Just an FYI. I can't tell you why I could do it, but I have them all in my datapad to prove it.

Wow - the great info just keeps coming in - keep it up!

Nugjar - can you tell us what your skill listings look like? What do you have for Taming Wild Creatures and Taming Vicious Creatures? What about Max Pet Levels? Can you confirm that you couldn't team vicious pets at Novice?

What CL is a plains tusk cat? I thought they were over 25 which means you would indeed need over 1. I was able to tame a kliknik defender at Taming 1 also but that was way back in the good ol' days.

Q1. What is the 'best' pet for nonCH?

My personal favorite is the spineflap handmaiden. I call it the undiscovered treasure. It stays relatively small so doesn't block your view, and has 2700HAM 150-160 damage, ranged attack, and three (stun, blind, and intimidate) special attacks that it uses well.

I agree with the rock beetle 2200HAM armor1 140-150 damage and the cowardly gurreck 3200HAM 150-160 damage, but I can't go along with the mountain krevol 2200HAM armor1 150-160 damage. The rock beetle has a ranged attack so is superior to the mountain krevol, even though its damage is slightly lower. The 5% difference in kinetic resist is minimal.

Q2. Best pet for CH

Yes, unfortunately it is the same for CH as nonCH. There is no aggro creature at CL15 or below that is better than any of the three (or four) mentioned (and there should be IMO). For the sake of being unique, a novice CH might want to try a perlek scavenger, however.

Q3. Advantage of Novice CH over nonCH

You can hold four pets rather than two, and you can control aggro pets. You can also control pets thatwill be beyond your control when they grow to adult, as long as they do not exceed your current level. That is, you can use a gurreck at 0/0/0/0, which willbe CL50 at adult, until it gets to CL16.

There are several plains tusk cats (as there are with many animals in SWG.) There is the Male Plains Tusk Cat (CL16, has babies), Female Plains Tusk Cat (CL?, has babies), and male and female Great Grass Plains Tusk Cats (CL?, not sure if they have babies.) They are all found on Naboo and Talus.

Mymsa, I will make sure the spineflapper handmaiden is added to the list of answers - the list of special attacks makes it a good choice.

However there are many CH that swear by the mountain krevol and it will remain as a recommended option.
