Thread: Non-CH Pets

It's all well and good to be a "scientist", but when the basic rules of your universe keep changing the rules of science don't apply...
Imagine a world in which Pi is changed t 3.15159 cause the database cant handle transencendal numbers

LOL!
I was pretty supprized by the forums today- people are actually being Understanding and supporting us through yet-another SOE f-up. I have spent almost the entire time the past 2 days trying to make a decent (1kham+ ) non ch-
I still havent come up with anything.. but i will keep trying. I was wondering if you are all having trouble with CH pets getting low hams/not reflecting the DNA at all (like 5 Prow gurreck sample all VHQ and ending up with an 8kham pet?) If the DNA is supposed to reflect the animal we sample from- that pet should have had 10khams and done way more dmg (and no , i did luck out and not fail in the exp)
I meen- If the samples we are pulling off critters arent reflecting the animals in the end result, is it fair to call that 'cloneing' ?
geez, maybe we should just sample butterflies and pray for Rancor stats ... ![]()
So non CH is fubar, Ch is fubar... oh and the sampling doesnt reflect the propertys of the animal it came from (barring the resists..) hmm thats fubar too... hmmm. It really blows to be a BE- especially now... thank you SOE. Get off your butts and create something that works... please.. im begging you.....

i'm just curious as to why everyone is so gung-ho to make non-ch pets? Is it for the reason that you want to be able to use what you create? Is it because there aren't enough CH's on your server to market to? I'm not being sarcastic...just curious.
I myself tend not to deal in non-ch pets and concentrate on providing pets to those with the skills required to use them. What amazes me is that once people found out they could make super low level pets, that 's all you saw posted in this forum.Very fewwere posting the stats of their upper CL beasts. I just wonder why the change, Why people weren't trying to push the system the opposite way? I'm proud of my CL35 and higher creations. I am actually able to make better pets than exist in the wild for their cl. This is a god-send for CH's, something we clamored for, and now that it is here, it just doesn't seem like people are doing it (or if they are, they just aren't talking about it).
Now I may be biased because I'm a Master CH as well but I've never been an advocate of taking pets away from non-chs. I think they should have pets...just non-combat ones.

Well I tried the scientific approach - but it takes me about an hour to run a full 'experiment' on a single creature, so until they finally stop buggering about with the system I will only be doing very basic experimentation.
CL 10 pets I'm sticking to just making 'pets' (using low level DNA), as opposed to 'tanks'- typically they have 400 HAM and are for RPing or posing with.I was particularly proud of theCL 10 Gurreck I made! (Thechap who asked for it was thrilled). Other pets in this category include CL10- mounts which non-CH's couldn't normally use (dewbacks and brackasets for instance).
The majority of pets I make and sell seem to be 11-30 levelCH only pets. Generally I can consistantly produce pets superior to thier wild equivalentswith decent kinetic resists but no armour. From the look of it most customers seem to be after tough low level pets for leveling or ones which they can use in combination with other pets.
The high level armoured pets I'm still experimenting with - concentrating on special attack combos and producing BE equivalents of creatures for whom babies are non-existant or rare. I've had mixed results with this - unfortunately I suspect I'll have to wait until the system is more stable/fixed before I'll make much headway in this area

Nope, here is the reason plain and simple. I've gotten 5 tells from customers today. 4 of them were requesting "the best non-ch pet you can make" the other one was requesting pet stims.
Because CH, and this is in October even before the CH "rebalance", only made up 8.66% of a server population.
If non-CH see pets as worthless, then BE's have nothing to sell to 91.34% of a server. If SOE don't want us to make pets then they need to beef up the tissue line (our only other source of income....once again, mostly reliant on pet stims to CH's there).
Weapon/Armorsmith's have around 75%+ of a server to sell to (Thieritemsdecay, so that is return business). MA's sell lot's of things to everyone. Tailors also sell to everyone.
If non-CH pets aren't worth buying, BE's will be _the_ least required crafting class in the game.
