Thread: Why aren't BE's making a fortune supplying your tissues to Chefs and Tailors ??

Oh and yes that's 30K per crate, less it seems than you lot, but I have so far managed to get meat at 15cpu ( nice thing is we can use anything on micro-nut's ) or for free .

I remember a while ago lameting about the insane quantities of meat required for these tissues, and all the BE's jumped up and down and told me, 'Oh just make friends and you'll have so much meat you can't use it all'.

Well, it was a nice theory...

The meat requirements are insane... no sane person is going to spend day after day after day killing things for meat. If the particular meat you need doesn't happen to come from dath, dant or endor, or from krayts forget trying to get a large stack of it.

A couple of more reasons:

There are less BE's per server.

Everyone seems to be grinding something. I know the resources I used to sell for $$, I'm now using more often than not.

A lot of us have friends/guilds so the stuff isn't hitting the market.

i guess i'm pretty lucky then. i have some friends that supply me with meat most of the time. i make them pets, pet stims, vitality packs and so on and tip them whenever they need money. so i have 22k of good crnivore meat coming in atm,so soon ill have 1000 chef tissues rdy on a few days. i know how lucky i am and do my best to let my buds know thats the way the game should be if u ask me. we all help eachother out

atm i charge 40k for a 25 crate with 81 nutrition bonus for BSN. is that a bit low then?

I'm finding making chef schematics works well - it's THEIR gathering and factory time - which is the biggest hangup on production of these - by selling schematics it shifts the bottleneck to the chef. I've been offering other chef components like dough, carbosyprup, trim, casks, alcohol -etc but those really haven't taken off yet. I use those to fill in between runs on my factories so they aren't sitting idle.

It's my hope that stuff will start to move a bit more and the chefs can worry with their own resources and have time to run these themselves.

I occassionally get asked for tailoring tissues - which I can, will and sometimes do sell - but I charge the same price (500cr a pt) that I do in finished product. It's sometimes difficult to keep up with my own needs since I'm also a master tailor - but if someone approaches me for them and doesn't mind the price - I am willing to sell them. Since I don't stock just the tissues - I go ahead and run the cloth, they are avoiding the waste of one for a schematic - and also the possibility of crits on the cloth part. This is not a product I stock - or even attempt to push for sale, like I said - it's hard for me to keep up with my own personal demand.

Resources.

I do make a good bit of tissues/suppliments, but mostly for customers that help supply the resources, as it is simply too difficult to obtain them, even with 3-4 million in the bank to buy good stuff.

I harvest all the high quality flora I can get (there is currently a 900+ OQ, 900+ PE, 900+ FL fungi on Corellia for those on Chilastra BTW; look just south of the player city on the eastern shore ne of coronet for a good concentration) and stockpile as much of it as I can, but the cost of meats is completely insane on the server. 60-80 cr/unit is not even uncommon, and I can't make things that use 50 or 60 units of meat for 50K a crate when I am paying 100K for the meats to make them.

I make as much as I can for regular customers and friends, and put anything I have "left over" from factory runs on my vendor for the people that know me to check when they need it, but mostly I am making to order and doing all I can to keep up there.

I have custom pet orders a month old that I am working to fill (I have some rather high standards on the pets I consider good enough for sale) and those also take time, though I enjoy doing them, to be honest, MUCH more than making a schematic that maxes the components before I run out of exp points and putting them in the factory to run.

I just finished a factory run on Scylla of 85% medium nutrients. The meat was 900+ in Flavor, PE, and OQ to get that, the flora was in high 800s.. Be my guess on how much that meat cost. That will probably be the last run for a while.

Now, need a buyer - lol.

I am making a fortune on supplying both tailor and chef tissues. I am bringing in almost 10 million credits per week and my vendors are almost always fully stocked with both tailor and chef tissues. I'm on Bloodfin, so those of you that need anythig please send me an email.

I'm also fully stock with nonch and ch pets, plus bio engineered clothing.

Can you create an alt on Sunrunner and do the same thing I haven't found a single MBE will to do that.

Making Broad-Spectrum Nutritions with meat that cost 45cpu and quality flora at let say 5cpu would cost the following for a crate.
(Not sure but i think it requires 60 units of organic/flora correct me if im wrong)

20meat * 45 cpu * 25crate = 22500 credtis in meat

60 org/flora * 5cpu * 25crate = 7500 credits in meat

total resource cost is 30k. On top of that comes the factory run and whatever you price the time you have spent getting the resources and making the product....

As i said for me on Farstar where im lucky to get 35k/crate I think will not be selling much of these (tho im gonna try as long as i can get resources for less that 45 cpu)

4) BE is just plain difficult. I know those that don't play it scoff at that notion, but there are tons of ex-BEs out there that will tell you it was too hard or just plain too boring.

I was a Master BE for about six months and quit just recently.

The reasons:

-Frustration from ridiculously high demand and very slow production from me due to resource demands.

-Frustration with customer's unrealistic expectations: "Okay, I want a pet with 11k HAM, 60% Kinetic/Energy, Light Armor, and Dizzy/Knockdown Special Attacks. Oh, and it has to be CL25 or lower."

-Frustration with the amount of time it took to maintain my rep as being a very good BE. I was devoting so much time to the craft I wasn't really having any fun.

Skorus, you are so dead-on, man. Whenever Novice BE's come to me for advice I remind them that BE can be rewarding but it is also the most involved, deep, and difficult crafting professions in the game. I would also go so far as to say it is the only profession where being intelligent in real life could be an advantage.

simple, I can't get 5k meat a night or I could care less to being driven to hunt the meats needed and any the other resources. I mine what I can and hunt as I do and end result, not much to make the tissues. Think on it. 5000 meats can make 333 microsuplement. That a low meat item. Now yes that is more then a factory can run in a day. What about any other tissues that are wanted? Not gonna happen.

Got to put a "me too" in on this one. I recently started as a novice BE and have been amazed at how fast I've burned through my resource stocks. I started BE with the plan to focus on tissue engineering rather than critter construction, but now I'm not sure its even worth it. Believe me, I'd love to get rich supplying chefs and tailors. I just hadn't planned on needing to seduce a ranger to keep my supplies in stock!
