just cast and leave it alone, you can use the options but in never do. when it says "you caught something!" reel it in and let the game take over. this works for me most of the time ( 3:5 tries for me is sucessful using 5 pieces of bait)

Does the fishing give exp?

I have a rod and some bait but i dont really want to waste my time doing something that will bring me nothing.

Can anyone out there fill me in on how to fish? I've bought the pole and I have the bait, but I can't seem to catch anything.

When the fishing menu pops up, I really have no concept of what I should be doing...when I do get a bite it gets away.

I must be doing something wrong, so any help would be really appreciated.

Can someone explain the fishing process plz?

I guess people don't much care about RP anymore. Disgusted with all of you the community is starting to get single minded and one tracked Craft Craft Craft Craft Craft all day long, power level this CreatureHandle that. Its kind ofsickening. Maybe I'm just running into the wrong people but who knows?

I guess the bug i have the biggest complaint about is the community.

ive posted about fishing before, and no one's really given me a good explanation other than 'it's all luck'. the tugs and reels are useless i suppose...i wish the devs would xplain it.

Well the obvious first would be to have fishing bait.Useeither worm, insect or chum which can be found by foraging or bought from the bazaar. Drop your bait on your fishing pole in your inventory window and equip. Once you have cast your line, pay attention to your screen for what's happening. I used a method similiar to this and caught three fish.

Oops, first time posting and all ready screwed up..lol

- Nibble - tug left or right (I tugged in one direction for a couple of nibbles before switching)

- Bite - tug up

- Caught something - small reel in

And yes, this can get as aggravating as real fishing....you may lose your catch or it may snap your line.

this might sound like a stupid question, but what planets actually HAVE water? This sounds like a fun break from running around in the desert for hours on end.

What can you do with the catch? Eat it?

Oh - and I forgot - That 18 inch Blowfish ...

I stand in the water as far as I can go without swimming ...

I then forage (scout forage)

I found some pretty neat stuff - and half of it was fishing bait - three different kinds as well.

I run about 10 meters and forage again - it is almost 50% success...

75% chance if there is a bush/shrub in the water !!

Let's go fishin !!

I'll whip up some brews - throw up a camp - light a fire ...
