yo Wilderness Survival points for Fishing and Foraging,

thanks for writing that, I hope a dev reads it, that makes so much sense it hurts, I always wondered why foraging doesn't give some kinda exp, why not surveying does,

If they implement this I might regain some respect for the Devs. Nice post

Just a theory... Since you craft a fishing pole, I'm wondering if using certain resources yield better a better catch percentage. Hmm .. maybe when I am really really bored I'll experiment and let you know.

Regardless, my favorite fishing spot is at Deja Peeks (Naboo), next to the waterfalls. What a nice break from working on pistol skills!

Idea for dev's : Why not a trap for fishing? In Louisiana, that's one way crawfish are caught. Egads! I'd hate to see what a Nabooian crawfish would look like. (For all you Cajuns ... imagine pinching THAT tail.)

As mentioned....The radial menu that comes up when you click on a caught fish in your inventory allows you the option of fileting it. This gives you units of fish meat and usually some chum bait as well (so you can do it all over again).

As for water - Talus also has rivers.

Tip - when finding an area to fish, don't just go to the water, look for the jumping fish (seems obvious enough, huh?) Cast your line while facing the fish from the water's edge and you'll have decent chances for a catch.

DEVELOPER REQUEST - Please make fishing and foraging worth the time it takes to do them...even a few Wilderness Survival XP would be nice (not to mention how much sense it makes). Thank you.

There is a small lake SE of Anchorhead on Tatooine, so even the desert planet has them. Be careful as there are high level mobs as well as dark Jedi about there. Don't fish there unless in the middle of the lake otherwise you may get aggro'ed.

P.S. I caught a blowfish.

I caught my first fish yesterday (finally). Would be cool if you occasionally got odd items from filleting them as well - a ring or something.

I caught a Corellian Bluefish that was a little over 18 inches long (.465052m). Anyone know if you can put them on the wall of house?

I can see the Tusk Cats head on the wall now ...
Right next the Tail of a Giant Mutated Womprat ...

Not intended to flame or anything at all, but Asterouth, you only gave your post 12 minutes before you replied to it yourself and complained of the sickening quality of the SWG community. I only get a chance to check the boards 3 or 4 times during the days, so I would only say give it a little bit for people to respond. btw, thanks all for the info everyone, I didn't understand fishing either. I figured maybe all the Durni's in the area were killing off all the fish and thats why I couldn't catch anything.

Astoreth, a simple Search of fish shows many many threads which answer your questions.

The best one being this one...

Cron - Walk out into the water so its knee deep. You'll get fewer failures for dragging the line onto shore. The distance seems to be random, sometimes close, sometimes far. Really wish there were a skill tied to this.

Anyone know if you can put them on the wall of house?

Yes you can, even after filleting them.

Filleting a fish (a scout skill) creates Fish Meat and Bait. The fish then turns into a 0 item container.

If you climb up the stairs of a multistory dwelling you can drop the fish and it will hang in mid-air. You can then shove it around and rotate it so it either mounts along a wall or through one (like those talking bass fishheads).
