Thread: Pricing our new creatures? Can I hear some ideas from you all?

Do you even have a clue what thats about? I didn't think so.CH walk about freely not having to worry about anything, BE has to poke adults in the butt with a needle to get the DNA. Deat and decay, happens alot. That is the risks we take to make your level 60+ creatures and anything 60+ will be 60+ k depending on stats and specials.
Do i care if people think the prices are too high? Not really, i am not BE to sell pets. I am BE to make them.
I'm astounded that you can make statements like these. You might want to stop and think about how CHs get the pets they "tame". They run pretty much the same risks in trying to tame a good pet as BEs do in trying to sample DNA from a good mob.
If the only CHs you've ever encountered are the kiddy PvPers who never tame their own pets and simply want to buy the most Uber PvP pet, you might be forgiven for thinking this way. Don't for a moment think that all CHs fit that mould though.
Charge what you want though, that's the way the economy works. Be aware that your potential customers will go out of their way to find a capable BE who is fair in their pricing and reasonable in their attitude....
Oh, and enjoy making those pets. It sounds like a blast :-)
Unless I get really good at determining how the new creature combines work, I won't even sell custom creatures. We currently have no way of knowing what the final cl of a creature is going to be until it's finished. So, if the customer wants a specific cl we will probably have to throw out several tries before we get the right cl. Sounds like too much of a headache to me.
Originally I was going to offer the templates for sale and then put the finishing skin and color on by request. But now, I see that the templates do not show the cl, just a general idea of the creature's power. So, there's that idea out the window.
Personally I'm not in BE for the money. I'm in it because I like playing around to see what kind of creatures I can come up with. I'll probably sit around and craft whatever I want to craft and give the results away to guild members and sell the rest. I don't really care if I get steady business ornot. If someone outside the guild asks for a pet I'll probably charge a lot just to keep the demand low. Or, just the opposite, you might find some of my pets on the bazaar just because it's easier to do it that way.
It's a game, and I don't have as much time to play as I used to. So I'll play it to have fun.
Currently I'm thinking 1k per CL and more for special orders and especially high resists or special attacks. I'm mostly in it for fun, but I could stand to start making money again...
And I would have to agree with the chill pill idea.

Anything high end is going to cost, big time cost.
You take that kind of stand with ALL CHs on your server and you aint going to last long in bussiness dude. If any BEs burn me and they get no repeat bussiness. By the way, I never sold pets (mounts). In fact gave a few away. Heck even trained the mount command for strangers for free when they asked nice.
Rep is everything in this game. You really need to learn that.

Almost Master CH here, about 3hours away. Its great to see you BE's are going to get some business but instead of looking to tear us apart with prices, why not work with us. Keep in mind we did get newly tameable babies, Frenzied Grauls are back with Graul Mauler Stats to start. A true CH will look to tame there creatures first before buying them. I for one would love to have my hands on one of these CL 70 pets. I think the 10k for CL 10 20k for CL 20 is a good base start, then add on for the attributes.
Give us a reason to come to you for business, don't look to drive us away cause we will just tame our own.
(I'm not looking to flame, but to reach an understanding b/w our two classes.

We do have an understanding, its called taming. Sometime it takes hours of trying one baby to finally get it tamed and that usually means the lair aggroed you a dozen times sending us to the clone center. There is common ground here, a true CH takes days in the wild to find and tame that rare baby, we don't just walk around.
1k per Cl
5k per special if at customer request
2k per special if customer has no specific requests,
5k for AR1
5k per resist greater ten 20%
10k per resist over 40%
15k per resist over or equal to 60%
"living Statues" made with junk dna 1k to 5k

I have no problem with you charging for your time and effort on going out on them DNA hunts. But do not assume I do not know what you have gone though to go up the master BE tree or how your profession has been screwed up till now.
I had a friend in the game that was going up BE and was looking forward to all the things he would be able to do. I helped provide him with meat. He would tell me all the stories of what the previous patches did to him.
Lets get this over with now. If you are on my server just give me your name so I know who not to go to for BE pets.
Pets are difficult because it costs me travel, meat & flora (not an issue as I get my own), and how often I die, insure, decay, etc. I agree with the 10k per level and maybe tack on more for armor and resists, good specials. Special orders will probably run a bit more (maybe 5 - 10k?) just because that requires me to get specific DNA. I have no intention on price hiking . . .I'm a master ch too. I didn't screw people when mounts came out and I'm not about to do it now.
One thing I'm interested in doing is making tank/fighting mounts.
there are alot of BE's talking crap on this post , having a go at tamers for no reason , try to remember you wouldnt have a businss without CH's. Personally ive always found it best to work together not try and screw people for silly money .
Anyways I can see charging around 100k for a good pet. A really really good rare pet can be even more. 100k seems fair for a pet that will last you a very long time, and 100k isn't bad for something that is custom made to your liking.
i am charcing 1.5k pre cl, if it has light armor or is above 50% kinetic resist the price went up to 2k per cl. light armor, kinetic resist above 50% then the price is 2.5k per cl. and i give discounts to imperials. i sold a cl 36 razercat with 51% kinetic resist to an imp i know for 60k.
sampling rancors on dath is not an easy task. i cloned over 20 times in 2 hours and ended up getting9 dna samples
