Thread: Pricing our new creatures? Can I hear some ideas from you all?
Supply and Demand rarely fails to work.
I would easily pay 150k for a super tank (level 69, 16k ham 60%kinetic and high others)
dont care about damage, and most ch wont.. it is a secondary priority.. lookin for tanks.
I would easily pay 250k for a pair of 34's with same stats but less hp, kinetic is most important.
I would easily pay 300k for 3 of those 22's with 10k and 45% kinetic
I will be getting all of my pets free, I have to bios in the guild... I would say the prices posted above are the high end of reasonable for bloodfin... guns go for as much...
I am being honest with ya and a lot of CH's will hate me for that.. I have a frienzied from before extinction and he is 97/100... dont expect TOO much repeat buisiness, but if I get a good product for a good price, word of mouth is priceless... with 3 MCH's in my guild and all.
DISCLAIMER: Bloodfin has a LOT of inflation do not apply these numbers to other servers without looking at the price differences of weapons and armor.
Hi all.
I'm posting my tested and working formula for pricing pets. So far I've not had problems with any customers, even in the low levels.
(CL x 1.6) + (10k x AR) [light = 1] + (1k x kinetic%) + specials
whereby specials are defined as follows:
strong tier - 10k
mid tier - 7k
mild tier - 5k
knockdown - 5k
other states - 3k
You can tweak to your heart's content. This is just my basis. Something super uber is gonna get a small bump to the CL multiplier.
Ploppy
For whatever pops out of the hopper, meaning no work on my part, probably 20k to 40k. These will be trashy pets.
For anything i had to wrack my brain on and hunt specific samples for... I think 100k is going to be my base, and it only goes up from there.
BEs and CHs are supposed to have a good relationship. One is the primary supplier of the other. This thread is fairly astonishing. If you are a BE and looking at the CH population as the enemy instead of your best future customers and the ones that will be supporting you, you may wish to re-evaluate that stance.
I guarantee there will be plenty of other BEs on your server that will treat the CH population fairly and correctly and without spite. Chances are, they'll win the business you won't. If you think you're not in competition with other BEs, you're wrong.
With the way some of you are talking, I have to question why you entered the BE business in the first place.

I am an Ex BE, on the grinding professions campaign now, so take this for whatever it's worth.
For anyone complaining about high prices, get over it, no one forces you to pay them. BE pet's are a luxury item now, and they will be priced extremely high if the product is one of exceptional quality.
I don't mind paying 25K for a weapon, even though I see 20 other identical serial weapons on that same vendor, and I have a good idea of what it actually cost to make. I don't mind paying 150K for a good heavy ore harvestor either, but I do mind paying for stuff that is inferior.
BE pet's are probably the only place where thier price is truly set by supply and demand, since there are at least "decent" alternatives, unlike weapons/armor/harvestors or any of the other crafted items in this game. You CANNOT be gouged on a BE pet, unless you allow it, since you CAN get pet's for free that are usable. This option really doesn't exist for things like weapons (ever try a dropped weapon? enough said) and I don't think a mob has ever dropped a harvestor, so if you wish these items, you must get them from crafters.
My point is simple here, for all who are complaining about price gouging, this is one case, where the only way you can be gouged is if YOU LET IT HAPPEN.
Vorgus (Currently grinding TKA, if you were curious)
The most I've made on a single pet so far is 200k. Was an 11k Ham, 60% kinetic, 35% energy, 89% other stuff, light armor, Stunning Strike Slice Hound.
The sale was to a guildy. He offered the 200k for it, I gladly accepted as I need money =P
I just tell people to tip me what they think is suitable for the pet I make them.

You really should not do that. Unless of course you enjoy your profession enough to handle the occasional ripoff. You need to figure out what it cost you in time and effort (how many times you died getting that sample, or how much it cost to travel to the planet to get the samples). And then you need to tack on some extra to make a profit. And you need to worry if nobody is going to buy anymore of your stuff.
Now if you die you may have to figure in what you lost in decay of your equipment. I would also look around and see what the competition is charging. But that's just me. Why even listen to me I aint even a BE.
Me, I think being a BE is hard. You have to actually THINK and not just DO. Me, all I got to DO is hit things or send my critters in for an attack. You guys have to THINK on how to make money (credits).

We do have an understanding, its called taming. Sometime it takes hours of trying one baby to finally get it tamed and that usually means the lair aggroed you a dozen times sending us to the clone center. There is common ground here, a true CH takes days in the wild to find and tame that rare baby, we don't just walk around.
Taming? You have got to be joking right? I was master aCH so please, don't try to BS me about taming Thats cake in compairison. Taming a rancor is a walk in the park compaired to sampling one 5 or more times to get enough dna for one creature.
See sampling for a 60 + critter is done on the adult , you know them, the ones that hit for over 600 a shot. You sample and you hope they don't aggo on you, you have to have friends watch your back to bail you out and doctor buffs to keep you dropping in one shot or 2, if you don't, you simply die.
For level 70 pets you need to sample from things like adult mutant rancors CL 75, sneaking up on them is not easy to do, then stand there poking them hoping to get a sample and one thats good. You may have to take 10 -15 or moresamples just to get 5 good ones You know how much just samples of mutant rancors sell for? about 25 k a piece, You know why? that are hard to get, so your CL 70 pet that you want dirt cheap would be around 125K worth of DNA resources and then organic resources on top of that.
AnywayI am done playing with the CH's. I am way off subject and this is not a discussion of what CH's think BE's cshould charge.

You're done playing with the CH"s? Who you going to sell those pets to for $200k? And you don't care what your customers think of your prices? Ok, yeah, you're going to do well as a BE.
For alll the BE's who are thinking this way, this is one CH that is sorry he was pulling for you to get some 'lovin'.. you should have been ignored forever.
For all the new BE's who realize this is a community game and was often given 'taming' and 'training' and 'mounting' assistance for nothing or next to nothing by many of us CH's.. I'm glad you can finally 'shine'.
I'm close to master BE and won't start selling creatures until mastery.
But regarding pricing, since BE creations are all handcrafted and unique, unlike product which can be mass produced in a factory, of course pricing will be higher and cannot follow a fixed rate plan such as charging per creature level, or HAM, etc.
I intend to charge for the amount of time spent in the creation of a creature, the cost of resources used, and travel & escort expenses. Custom orders should also naturally cost more, since you'll be spending more time hunting down specific DNA samples for specific orders.
As a combat class, I can make around 60k Credits an Hour. This is also on par with most other combat classes. So my base hourly rate will be 60k/Hr. If it takes me 2 hours to hunt down all the resources needed and experiment & create, then the base price for the creature will be: 120,000 credits + travel costs (e.g., 6k for roundtrip tickets to Endor) + resource costs (good flora/meat costs 10-20 cpu).
If I toiled away at making a specific creature for two hours, then the base price for the creature is going to be 130k. CL is irrelevant, it could be a CL15 pet, or a CL 70 pet.
To me this is a fair price scheme. I don't see how people can expect a creature that you spent two hours crafting to cost 30k. That's 15k an hour! You might as well be running missions instead if that were the case.

Hey guys/gals. I am looking for a good way to price these new creatures with Special Attacks and resistances. I have no idea how to do this...but really would like to get a nice fair even system put together for my vendor and special requests from potential customers. Thanks

Listen, I sell factory crates of 50 925 HAM Kits for 50k and its resonable and well underpriced when you look on the bazzaars and see others selling them at 3 k a peace i am 1/3 and better stims. Whats a lot of money to me is obviously different then what you think alot of money is. You want to know what a lot of money is to me?
I sold this pet for 50k You tell me if you think it is worth it.

You guys are so bent out of shape about the creature changes, you need to take a chill pill and see what shapes up.
