Anybody know where there is a glossary of all the pet special attacks by name and what they do? (For instance, what does crippling strike do? And is the only difference between strong disease and plague strike the amount of disease, or is plague strike something more specific?)

If you use the advanced search on swgcreatures.com, there is a drop down list with all the special attacks. It doesn't say what they do but you should be able to work most of them out.

Yay!! I finally got to test it out.. A pet's knockdown move DOES work. I does a posture down attack. It works in PvP AND it works in PvE. This is good since so many people on a hunt will be spamming knockdown shots, the posture down has a seperate timer. The reason a lot of people don't notice their pet specials working is because for some darn reason when a MCH (or 4/x/x/x CH) teaches special commands... they don't match up.

When examining the pet, the special attack that is show in the special1 slot will, the special 2 command will work for it. Try this for yourself. I have a lvl 24 10K ham, AR0 60% kin gurreck withKD and cripple as the specials.I taught special 1 (KD) and special 2 (Cripple) the way it is shown in the CH tree and on the pet. Whenever I gave the KD command I noticed nothing. However when I did the Cripple command the good old +Posture Down Attack+ would up up over the pet's head and the animal would be postured down. If you are having problems with your KD specials.. try training them backwards.

I could, but then he will just be dizzy/cripple instead of cripple/dizzy. And it might confuse the poor guy.

Knockdown seems to work on NPCs like meatlumps, it doesn't have a visual effect on creatures like a players knockdown does. There is no timer on cripple and dizzy works well too.

All depends what you are going to fight and what specials you personally have as to what specials are desirable.

In last weeks 19 questions (and 1-2 answers)TH stated (hey, no snickering!) that dizzy doesn't do anything against animals. This was specifically in reference to a brawler special, but it likely applies to pets as well. I know that the rangers are all upset over it cause their big impressive trap that they spend 14 skill points to get does a dizzy and doesn't work against humanoids, lol. Anyway, sounds like avoid the dizzy special at all costs on pets unless it's meant for PVP.

Brawler

Dizzy currently only works on NPCs and PCs. Using dizzy on any creature results in nothing more than than the icon appearing beside the creature's name. Is it intended that dizzy not work on creatures and is working as designed? If it is working correctly, what can we expect to make this ability useful against creatures?

Dizzy is meant for PC’s and NPC’s and not creatures. There is a slight effect, but it is minimal. This is definitely a topic we can discuss further in our upcoming Combat Balance focus threads.

So you deny that it the order in which you train your pets has any bearing what-so-ever on the effectivness of said attacks?

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.
