Knockdown seems to work on NPCs like meatlumps, it doesn't have a visual effect on creatures like a players knockdown does. There is no timer on cripple and dizzy works well too.
All depends what you are going to fight and what specials you personally have as to what specials are desirable.
So you deny that it the order in which you train your pets has any bearing what-so-ever on the effectivness of said attacks?
I have personally never notice a difference if the first or second special sticks more or less than the other. I've seen both stick independantly of each other. I don't believe I stated anything about the order of effectiveness of a special attacks. Which specials you find desirable depends on your own template and attacks you can perform and what you will be fighting.
I've seen dizzy work on my pets before, go to the woolymander temple on yavin to see what I mean. I don't have a knockdown attack personally, but I rarely see an animal on its back for a long time due to dizzy like NPCs do. However one can see the state icon on of their target have posture changes even when they are not visable on screen. This could just be buggy incomplete code and the icon means nothing.

dizzy willstick on creatures, but it does not knock them down they change postures
the question isn't whether it sticks though, it's whether it has any effect.
Knockdown puts the target on its back. It only works when the pet wants it to, at least for the majority of us, but not on command.

Crippling Strike is a posture down attack. Standing->Kneeling or Kneeling->Prone. That is exactly what you are seeing, because it does work.

Yeah but did you try taming your pets backwards?

the answer TH gave was "very little"
my assumption is they won't use special attacks while dizzy.......
dizzy players can't use maskscent (also for us zabraks, no vitalize or equilibrium) but since a lot of the pet's special attacks are buggy and many wild creatures don't use their specials all the time, it would be hard to test lol
I have found this seems to be the case. Specials are so randomly used that it is difficult to prove for certain.

For the record, I was joking about training your pets backwards, It just struke me as funny as crap, when I read the original post. I was really tired yesterday, was helping some noobs get through the squll cave till LATE and had to get up early for a meeting.
that whole conversation was funny as hell though lmao
