Thread: Resource question
Overall effectiveness = (OQ * 0.66) + (PE * 0.33)
If you're doing the CRDMs or some such just sub UT for PE.
They really oversimplified things... anyone find water with PE yet? ![]()
In the stims it usually uses the formula OQ=66% and PE=33% for effectivness. So to figure which is best it would be (OQ*2)+PE. So the figures on the three you have are:
1=2065
2=2416
3=1880
So definately #2 is best overall. This is for effectiveness. The amount each heal will be. Some other schematics also can have a rating of OQ=66% and UT=33%. This is used for power. This will increase the number of heals in each stim. UT is not on the fruits and berrie types of organics but is on the hide and bones types but they have no PE rating. So You can mix and match types depending on what you are going for #charges or the heal#.

It matters what you're crafting. Under the description on the right side of your crafting UI there should be a list of percentages underneath the list of required resources. These percentages are what resource values matter when crafting whatever it is you're crafting.
For example: I craft a generic crafting tool. It says Experimentation: Conductivity 100%
The tools require X metal, X mineral, and X chemical. Now I plug the highest conductivity metal (usually copper) into the metal slot to get the high conductivity matched up, ore into the mineral slot (ore does not have a conductivity rating), and whatever cheap chemical I've got on hand into the last slot. Hit combine, experiment, and ten gems later I've got (with a copper conductivity of 900+) a total experimentation of near 100%.
The tool then sells on the bazar for around 1k.
I'm sometimes amazed at how many crafters don't realise how the resource values work.
To answer your question directly, if the schematic doesn't call for OQ or CON, then you're just throwing it away if you're using it. Get something cheaper that will fit your needs.
I think that the final number is what counts. I use this formula to determine an overall rating for the resource that I am dealing with at that time. In this example I'm using Steel with: Conductivity: 700 Overall Quality :700 and Shock Resistance :500
For items that call for 50% Cond 50% over all quality.
(Conductivity Rating) X (Percentage of Conductivity Called for)
+
(Overall Quality Rating) X (Percentage of Overall Quality Called for) = Final Rating
(700) X (.5) + (700) X (.5) = 700
For a craft calling for 66% Cond and 33% Shock
(700) X (.66) + (500) X (.33) = 627
Hope that helps.
As far as hides are concerned, does the overall quality matter at all? or does the animal that it comes from matter? If so are there any uses for Filphokra Lokian leathery hide or should i just go for bones or meat instead, thanks in advance
