Q: Where can I find a Grand Wrix?
A: The Grand Wrix spawns randomly on Corellia and Talus. You can find them out in the wild sometimes and sometimes right near cities. On Corellia, they have been reported to spawn regularly north of Coronet, the very NW corner of the planet in the mountains, and SW out of Kor Vella towards the river, and west out of Tyrena. They are often found with other wrix and mottled wrix. As a result, getting wrix missions may be a good way to eventually run into a grand wrix baby.
Q: Where can I find a Greater Sludge Panther?
A: The Greater Sludge Panther spawns randomly on Talus. They have been reported to spawn west of Nashal, south of Nashal by the river, and NW of Dearic.
Q: How long does it take for a baby to grow to adult-hood?
A: About a week. Nobody knows the exact formula. There are some thoughts that it grows 10% every 12 hours (thus growing fully in 5 days) and that perhaps it is somewhat random. Some have suggested that using your pet in combat and feeding the pet will cause it to grow faster, however that doesn't appear to be true (if it makes a difference, it is too slight to see.)
Crooth wrote:Q: What is a pet's vitality, what causes it to drop, and how do I heal it?
A: A pets vitality is the solution implemented to deal with the fact that pets never permadeath. Each time a pet becomes incapacitated, there is a possibility that it will lose a point of vitality. Also, if you store a pet whiel it is incapacitated it will likely lose one or more points of vitality. A reduction in a pet's vitality reduces its effectiveness. The reduction in effectiveness is based on a formula. According to the developer responsible for Creature Handlers, he has stated that it works as follows 'at Vitality of 91-100, your pet has full stats. At Vitality 81-90, your pet will have a 10% reduction in stats, and so on.' The minimum a pet will ever go to is 75% of maximum. Pet vitality can be healed with a Vitality Pack made by Bio-Engineers (the schematics are found in their Tissue branch.) Each time a pet has his vitality healed, there is a chance that the maximum vitality will drop and yes, this will eventually result in a permanent reduction in the pets stats (the equivalent of aging I suppose.)
No, this is wrong. The original intention was to use a 10% sliding scale as described. The patch that was actually implemented was 25% however. So from 100-75 vitality the pet is 100% effective from 50-74 it is 75% effective... etc. Also, the loss of vitality is not random, it is based on being death blown. It looks random because the incap necessarily preceds the DB.
Excellent update. I assume you know the 25% from actual experience?
How do you know the deathblow story is correct? What evidence do you have of this? How do you know if a pet has been DB (I've never seen the corpse or death icon for my pet.)
I don't doubt you, I'm just looking for documented facts to characterize them as such rather than guesses or rumor. The information above was taken from the pet developer thread - although in looking back I see that he indicated that he was going to do it and hadn't actually done it yet (which could mean it is coming or that he made another choice.)
