Well I mostly skipped to the ranger/scout part of that post of yours. First, thanks for doing all that great info for the game in general from FF. Great work.

Secondly, I'm glad to hear that the devs, especially GM, are thinking ranger is lacking as much as we do. BUT, what I'm ticked off about is that he knew nothing of the outdoorsmas proposal. **edit**. This seems obsurd, unless our previous Coorespondant never even brought it up or posted it on the coor forums. It seems the coor forums are the only way to contact the devs. And GM confirmed that by saying he never visits our forums at all, only the coor ones.

So, with that in mind, I ask you Calc, have you posted or brought up the Outdoorsman proposal on the Coorespondant forums? I know TH said he likes it so he at least has seen it. But GM is the primary dev for ranger and scout (which I knew but forgot) and if he is the one who will do work on us, he should know about it, before. With that said, can you try to get GM to see the outdoorsman? I know he's not working on Ranger now, and won't be for a while, but at least he will see what we have been doing. Seeing as someone else said about Fan Fest, is the devs want the ranger to come up what we want to see, and I guess the devs have not seen outdoorsman. Remember TH is actually a dev, he is community relations. So lets get the outdoorsman proposal to GreeMarine. Quote: When asked about the outdoorsman proposal, he said he had no knowledge of it." That does not say good things about our connection to the devs. Other professions know about this thing, and TH knows about it, but the devs that work on ranger dont?

What do you say Calc?

Cheers:
"Camps: He was in favor of adding things to camp that would aid a Ranger's ability to hunt. In particular hunting blinds were mentioned, as a way for a Ranger to stay concealed for a bit longer."

"Traps: He stated that he had already done work in this area, on some traps that were "static" and would, well trap, lol. So Ranger drops said traps, and checks back later, and they may have animals in them that are caught. That sort of thing."

Jeers:
"He also stated that he doesn't generally post, nor read the ranger (or any other) forum, except for the correspondents forum. When asked about the outdoorsman proposal, he said he had no knowledge of it."

"Overall GM stated that Rangers, in his view, were all about PVE, but that he regretted their "super scout" status right now. So most times when people brought things up that had to do with Rangers in PVP, he pretty plainly said weren't part of his vision."

Grrrrrrrrrrr.......

"Stealth: This was brought up, but I don't even remember whether it was in respect to rangers or not. But again, no real objection to it other than technical difficulties that they currently didn't know how to overcome (sorry Fred)."

Have him call me, I will explane it to him It's actually a server change, and very little, if any, footprint in the client. It is this that will let us into PvP and it's not as hard as he thinks it is.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

from what all i've seen, it seems like they expect rangers will need a revamp to fix all of our problems... and here i was hoping the combat balance would fix most of our issues... eh, i knew better, really... was just hopeful...

four months ago, i would have been upset that GreenMarine hadn't seen the outdoorsman proposal... but knowing what all is on the plate, and how the system seems to work now.. i'm glad he hasn't seen it... this gives us time to get something together with all of our newer ideas, and he doesn't have to even look at the old one...

besides, i think we should get the stealth proposal into part of our hollistic view... maybe as part of the rest of ranger GM will see it as a possibility...

One more thing I just remembered this morning that I didn't put in the post. The topic of traps in PVP came up a couple of times. GM thought that traps against humanoids were more appropriate for bounty hunters than rangers (they also have trapping requirement). But then someone asked about trapping pets and he responded very favorably to that.

Wow, Im actually starting to regain a little optimism about the future.

Armour reduced, a hint that Doc buffs will be brought down, slower/less damaging weapons will re-introduce tactics to combat, CHs arent getting nerfed(again) in the CB, plus it looks like when the time comes for our revamp, were going to have a fairly together and dedicated dev on our side. Things are indeed looking up

This is complete and utter HORSE SH*T, denial of content, PvE only profession is piss poor lack of imagination and forsight. The Devs have stated over and over and over that PvP and the GCW are the end game of SWG, so we are told that Rangersas aprofession aren't intended to be good enough to be included in that end game...... that sucks rocks.....

Guys,

Just to let you know GreenMarine I think was our original designer for this profession. He was in charge of Ranger, Smuggler, and Squad Leader. He was the lead person on the chef revamp. He was also reassigned to work on player cities, and then after that was finished, assigned to the JTL expansion. This mostly explains why he has not seen or heard ofthe outdoorsman proposal. But then again I do not like TH at all, and wouldn't surprise me because the guy is incomptent.

Haha, I love the forage bug explanation. That must be what Delta said he would tell about in the Scout forum (for those who don't know, the Scout Correspondant; he went to FanFest). This was a great post. Thanks!
