I know Keldarin put the checks in, have to wonder at the confusion though. Maybe he's a bit out of the loop on BE issues with what he's currently working on.
Sounds pretty consistent with what he told me during testing of the clone revamp, though it wasn't clear at the time that it was impossible
Wasn't really surprised by this myself. This was pretty much the response when it was in our Top 5 but people seemed to mistake what was said as a denial that there was even an issue. It's never been a closed issue, the only thing the Devs would not consider was containers to store DNA that took less volume than the DNA would normally consume.
Really disspointed in this one. Scaling according to CL was part of the design that we were given back before the clone revamp. It was certainly passed on to the devs that the scaling did not seem to be working when we were testing the revamp. I still consider this a bug.
Too bad you didn't remember this explaination to pass it on, I'd have loved to hear it
Tal, it wasn't like "no". Someone asked about it, he said it was possible, he made some comment about "I'm not sure we'd want miniature rancors running around all over the place though" or something like thatand then moved onto the next question without saying more.
I think the question he was asked was maybe a bit ambiguous though thinking back as to whether they were talking about having the user have the ability to adjust the creature during experimentation or assembly, or whether it would just scale like you say. At least it wasn't clear to me what they were asking for (I assumed the former).
Anyhow, the door certainly seemed to be left open at least a crack if we wanted to persue this, but I was just trying to get across that there didn't seem to be a lot of enthusiasm about this like some other things, where he'd say "yea, that would be cool", or "yea, I really need to fix that".

Controlling pet size: he said it was possible (to implement) but didn't sound too convinced of it's importance.

Paazak! WOOT!
I wish there was SOME way to figure out what the CL of a creature will be in experimentation or perhaps before expementation (so you can get an idea how expementation will effect it.) I hate not being able to tell what CL I'll get until the creature pops in my inventory. :/
Besides that, sounds good.
EDIT: I'm a little worry-some about pets becomming tanks again.. I mean more pets is all well and good for me, and for most BE's, but I don't want to see the pet wars we saw before, where there are more pets in cnet then people.
