Hopefully this patch hits soon...and the milk fix comes with it. I need some taming clothes and don't want to spend 500k on them.

Well, using all the creature stock I have now, resampling clones and going on being able to call the babies from my datapad (which I cannot do with invalid pets even if I can tame them), here is what I have thus far:

CL 16 gurreck

HAM 6637/5829/3640

Resists Kin/Energy/Heat 42/20/20

2.18/55-65 attack speed/damage

Dizzy/Stun specials and ranged

CL 12 Kaadu

HAM 2868/2168/1934

Resists Kin 35, a few others in single digits

2.46/30-40 attack speed/damage

Crippling strike special

Still working on seeing what CL 10s are able to be made, but I bet they will be pretty worthless as the Devs intend <shrugs>.

Anyone that didn't see this coming just hasn't been paying attention, this is how SOE (and most MMO developers) solve these problems. That is why it was so important that this problem be reported and NOT USED when it was first discovered, so the devs would be able to get a real fix instead of having to hot-fix because the problem was growing out of control. But those of us that mentioned that got yelled at by all those hoping beyond hope that they had made us uber intentionally.

True enough, Scorus. But now that is all water under the bridge. Now is not the time for "I told you so" or whining about the changes from either end of the spectrum. The MOST IMPORTANT THING now is to find out quickly how this affects ALL the pets out there, what the true ranges for BE's CL are and get on with the business of being Bioengineers. We must figure out what is allowed and what is not after this fix.

Until then, I reiterate: PULL all your deeds that are on the bazaar or vendors - many of these will be invalid. (I personallynever put any pets for saleafter it became apparent EARLY ON that CL calcs were bugged, so feel pretty fortunate in that regard....)

I know of 2 "legit" ways to lower the CL of a clone... using lower level DNA in the pysch slot of an otherwise high level DNA template, and using second gen DNA from a high level clone in the psych/all slots of the creature.

Can anyone confirm that these methods still work to create useable pets?

PS: Any chance CL shows up on the DNA template yet? (haha, jk really)

The combat system will be 'balanced' when NPC's and PC's have the same HAM.

We should not need to figure out what's valid or not, that information should be communicated to us by the development team. If new rules are in place, we should be notified exactly what they are, and what HAM ranges are acceptable for what CL.

Make no mistake, we've experienced a hot fix, not a solution to the problem. Devs will eventually re-code our system then we must figure it out once again from scratch.

The Scooby-Doo Mystery BE pet system is getting old, especially thanks to no communication from any official SOE people and us having to decode it twice (maybe three times).

You'll get no argument from me there. I am in complete agreement. The communication on this fix and CL calc process(read: NONE) from the Devs was horrible.

However, this is the hand we were dealt and we must deal with it accordingly. I just hope this process of calculating CL does not become a moving target.

Perhaps Talth could pound the table in the correspondent's forum to FINALLY get us some information on how this system works or is SUPPOSED to work, so we can get the guidance we need?

Ain't that the truth :-/

This whole debarcle could have been avoided by holding off till after their break and announcing there was a problem when it first appeared.

Wonderful. So now we're back to square one and the situation is even worse.

Would it kill someone to post a bloody announcement on -this- forum about what they did to our deeds? Or am I going tobe without a 100%working profession for the next month up until they decide to 'fix' this?

Ok, question for someone who is actually ingame right now.... DO YOU STILL MAKE PETS THAT ARE INVALID? IE did they actually fix the crafting system too, or just make it so any "bad" animal can't be called?

Sampling clones seems to generate a much more balancedtemplate since this patch (the cleverness/dependability is now correct too), and the resulting creation CL's, looks to still be in line with it's stats.

So as far as i can tell, this hasn't just been a hotfixfor calling invalid pets.

I'd encourage people to AVOID trying to see if you can still intentionally make "super10's".

This much I know from testing this morning:

  • All deeds, even those with improper CL ratings, can be sampled and put into new clones, which thus far has been creating new "valid" pets that can be called and controlled

  • You can still tame the bugged deeds, but cannot call them again from your datapad once tamed as their stats are invalid; There is NO CL recalcuation of these tamed pets upon trying to call them - they just read as invalid stats. Even a Master CH cannot call these (I tried it with a few of these tamed, invalid clones);

A word from the Devs on this would be nice - Thunderheart, you listening?
